Went in today, Wouldn't advise people to do the same its a death trap.
This is not a Manchester police station it is a Salford one.
Why run?
@@jammy557 didn’t particularly fancy a confrontation with a group of people I don’t know, who also could be pretty annoyed I’m on their land
Wow! That place looks absolutely amazing. Shame you couldn't get in, but maybe a good thing that it's kept tightly sealed as it would be trashed within a week 😂
@@stevoid that is true, there’s a lot of youngsters round there who’d have a field day. There’s a lot to see though, so one to watch.

That's unrepairable in that area now surely, from the top down view it looks like that front wall is bowing in from the bottom as well 😢
@@limpjaffacake I’d agree, no saving that section. It would be more safer and efficient to build it from scratch again. Hopefully someone will act faster before any other bits collapse. Just shows what neglect and no maintenance can lead to
Was there not a corruption charges over the proposed sale of this buildingWHas this been resoled as i have read nothing off it> ?
@@lesbatty84 I believe so. From what I remember reading about it, it was about trying to get it flattened but it’s got historical significance. I don’t think anything was resolved, hence why it’s still in the condition it is……both sides hoping the other will give a bit

Its a shame vandals destroied that beautiful old crucifix. The nuns should have removed it when they left. It is apparent vandals have ransacked the place.
"Muslims" ransacked the place
@@mudgebauer I agree. I’ve been in a few times previous and always local kids hanging around, trying to get in to break things. It was too easy for them
I grew up in the next area (Longsight) and we all used to go here as a kid in the 80s early 90s. There was an english chippy facing it, where we would get scallops (with salt & vinegar) to warm us up. What an absolute shame to see whats become of them now ! To be fair, i driven through Levenshulme, Longsight in 2021, and i thought i was in Baghdad ! Absolute shyt hole of a place now. Thanks for the video though 👍🏻.

In th 60s when it was the Astoria, I saw Dave Dee, Dozy Mick and Titch there. 😊
That’s some time ago. Great memories I’m sure, Who were the people you mentioned?
Theh were a 60s band x Google them.
got to say the concrete and foundations that this place will have will make the demolition profit not worth it even the scrap metal wont cover it c machine design will be meters and meters into the hill side and floor
The cost covering/profit will come from all the homes built on there surely? It’s in a really rural location close to Manchester so I doubt prices will be that cheap!
If they've got planning permission to build houses the owners will sit on it until the price goes up. They always do. The government gives you 3 years to start building after planning permission is granted. There are exceptions sometimes.
It's awesome. Moved down south from Skem as a boy in 1978, I just thought of this place today. I never knew what it was or called. Always impressed me.
It’s got so much to it…hidden away from the road. I’ve been in once but I’d love to replicate that if the opportunity ever arose
Where was this? Just researched. Heywood
If you put Mutual Mills into google you’ll get the info you need. It’s part active, part under development into housing.
