I wish we could have seen more films by Troy Duffy, who like Sylvester Stallone with Rocky wrote the script but would not sell it unless someone hired him for it. He was a bartender and wrote the script as a vehicle for his band to do the soundtrack but he burned his bridges with Hollywood and the Weinsteins blacklisted him. Nice how karma came back and reversed that!!!

30:00 Minute Mark. When Rocco said he would shoot himself in the head if she was able to remember the cat's name, he was bluffing, lol... He had already shot all six bullets at the cafe.
These two remind me of my last girlfriend and me showing her a lot of my favorite movies (I was a lot older and she hadn't seen anything made before 1980) So I would show her "To kill a mocking bird" etc. And we would discuss the movies at the end. Same thing with some of my favorite books. One of the things that cemented her as an awesome girlfriend was she loved Full metal Jacket ,Apocalypse Now , Blade Runner and all my other favorite movies and books...I sure miss her but ,I knew when we first started seeing each other the age difference would start to weigh heavy. Still 10 years with a girl 23 years my junior meant we had to get along pretty well.
William Defoe sitting up & motorboating was the scariest part of this whole movie, the cat getting shot comes in at #2. They both gave me the hebe jebeies. I seen it on my first deployment to Iraq in 2007-08. I thought it was 1 of the best films I seen that deployment, I watched it several times. I bought the combo pack & their are a few deleted scenes, 1 with their mom made me laugh; Played by Ann Ramsey.
Now Boondocks Saints2 All saint's day You have to remember when Rocko asks to learn the prayer. And the brothers say we can't. "It was our father's prayer . Taught to him by his father." So the only person who could know the prayer was their father.

So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti."

Awful living quarters ? That is a sweet loft apartment , with an amazing minimalist aesthetic.
this is one of my all time favorite movies. I bought the VHS used from Blockbuster for $4.99 (I only bought, I never rented from there because I like to watch movies multiple times) when I was 27 - I since re-bought it on dvd and special edition dvd and blu ray. the scene with the iron when they hug each other while scorching their wounds is my favorite and reminds me of me and my brothers and close friends.
For others. Norman Readus isn't the guy from Walking Dead. He's the guy from Boondock Saints.
Awe yeah. Excellent movie choice for St Patty day. Once again you guys knock it out of the park. Thanks for your energy, emotion and intellect as you went through this movie. Keep it up.
30:00 Minute Mark. When Rocco said he would shoot himself in the head if she was able to remember the cat's name, he was bluffing, lol... He had already shot all six bullets at the cafe.
It's only a bluff if he remembers it's empty. Remember, he's kind of an idiot.
I really hope you guys watch the sequel soon; I think it's the rare sequel that actually fits well with the first
Now Boondocks Saints2 All saint's day
You have to remember when Rocko asks to learn the prayer. And the brothers say we can't. "It was our father's prayer . Taught to him by his father." So the only person who could know the prayer was their father.
Conveniently, I watched this movie very recently so great to see a reaction on it. That scene with that cat reminded me a lot of the scene in Pulp Fiction with Marvin, lol
@TBRSchmitt I noticed it was kind of vaguely mentioned in another comment but did you guys put together when they were praying and the old man came from behind and started repeating the same prayer that’s because it’s a prayer he taught them as kids, he is their father!!!
Il Duce, the old 6-gun guy, is actually their father. They say earlier that only their family knows/uses that prayer.
The street interviews at the end are so great 😂
You are great, just heard the first sentences, and you say St. Patricks Day. That just made me a smile, because of loving this film and willem Dafoe.
This was an instant cilt movie. I remember the talks of a sequel for years. And finally it happened.
They're supposed to be doing a third. It was about to go into production, then Covid hit.
He said “to far” implying that he wasn’t down with getting pissed on by that gangster, which is extra funny because his character is the epitome of “to far” 😂
Can't remember if you said in another video that you guys had The Crow with Brandon Lee on your list. That film is another indie cult classic
That film is one great line after another. And Brandon Lee is perfect in that movie, perfect.
You should check out “Powder” with Sean Patrick Flannery. And Suicide Kings. Definitely Suicide Kings!!!
Never heard of those! Thanks for the suggestions!
@@TBRSchmitt any time 👍
Suicide Kings is definitely in the vein of Boondock Saints. "Leonard" from Big Bang Theory lol 😆
Tough Luck with Norman Reedus is a decent b list movie. Interesting to watch at least.
I really like Suicide Kings.
My favorite movie of all time. Thank you for this
Yes! Such a great movie!
Yeah definitely a cult classic!
I can't believe this movie is 23 years old. Where in the Hell did the time go?
"All Saints Day" was pretty good too.
Evidently, Billy Connolly (El Duche) kept cracking up the crew between takes.
il ducé (means the duke in Latin)
*in nomine patris es filii et spiritus sancti
*also:
in nomine patris et filii, spiritus sancti
translation: in the Name of the Father l, the Son, & the Holy Spirit
This movie is a timeless classic for sure. Check out To Live and Die In LA. Another great Willem Dafoe movie.
The father is played by Billy Connolly - probably the funniest man on earth. a true scottish legend :)
Yesterday I got my hand tattoo with AEQUITAS on it ) Still love this Movie so much !
And Shepherds we shall be For Thee my Lord, for Thee Power hath descended forth from Thy hand Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be
This is one of my favorite movies! My whole friend group was obsessed with it in high school lol
At 11:45 you see how Rocko kind of flew back? That wasn't apart of the script, the air cannon that shot the blood and stuff on the walls was so intense it blew him off of his seat. The actor was nervous being that close to the cannon but the Director (who was a friend) told him he would be fine then laughed at him after
Thanks guys , haven't seen this movie
Definitely worth a watch!
@@TBRSchmitt il check it out thanks
U need to watch part 2!!! U both will love it!!!!
Love both of the boondocks saints films
Norman Reedus is amazing
For a giant laugh, try to get ahold of the deleted scenes on this one. Well worth it.
The mom is amazing!
@@krxahfb You read perfectly between my lines!
Who was born first?
@@gregblau8082 lol
Yes El Dutchy is papa
The "mystery man" as you put it, was their father. There's a few references in the movie that help you to work it out.
That cat scene has never failed to make me laugh.😂😂
That is there dad.The director confirms it in the commentary😊
