- I hate that I can't think of any better words to describe this movie besides COOL, but it is unquestionably that!

Apologies for having to use the watermark again, some random distribution company in Asia kept nailing my well-within-fair-use clips and it was the only way. Hopefully you can still enjoy the video 🍀
Perfectly done if you ask me - whatever you have to do so we can watch the reaction. You have my vote for doing that from the start, if you're wondering.
Not a problem for me. I often suggest that everyone use a unique watermark for the reactions, so that no one can steal your reaction (a channel pops up every now and then that tries to steal other people's reaction videos) and personalize their reaction.
So don't sweat it!
Go with God and Be Safe from Evil. 😎 👍
No apology needed, the watermark doesn’t take away from the reason I watch your reactions and commentary. Your comments and reactions are why I watch, and they are awesome. I salute you! Salute Your Shorts! 🩳 🫡
Don't apologize for the watermark. It's fine, we understand. In anyways, we are here for tour reaction and opinions,
It didn't spoil the experience for me.
“Where ya going? You’re going NOWHERE!”
"i ain't gettin him no 🤬 bagel!"
You should see the deleted scene "Mom Calls from Ireland". It is so hilarious! Also, when you watch 2, make sure it is the Director's Cut.
I will! Thanks 😊
There's a story in the commentary that after shooting Rocco who was from the area would go to a local bar where he had a thing for one of the waitresses there. He was trying to impress her by telling her that he was acting in a movie with Willem Dafoe, because she was a fan of the actor. She of course didn't believe him. Then near the end of shooting the entire cast went to the bar with Rocco. They were drinking and having a good time, and Willem knew that Rocco had a thing for that waitress.
The woman finally got up enough courage to ask Willem for an autograph. He turned to her and said, "Only if the Roc says it's okay."
Rocco gave his okay and I think he got a date from the waitress because of it, but I don't think anything came from it.
That’s fantastic, I hope it really happened
William Dafoe is simply fantastic in this movie! If you watch part 2, make sure you watch the director's cut! It makes a big difference there!
Good to know, thank you!
I’d say this role for Willem Dafoe is second only to his work as Bobby Peru in Wild At Heart. That character and how he played it brought new meaning to the word “menacing.” That film is criminally underrated.
@@BouillaBasedHarvey Weinstein is to blame for this! I recommend the documentary "Overnight" which is about the creation of Boondock Saints and Troy Duffy's problems with Weinstein!
@@RhetoricalThrillgood to see you.
@@RhetoricalThrill Let me help you a bit. The brothers are Saints of the Church. The reason they were able to just walk up front at the beginning of the movie. I have a feeling you aren't to familiar of what a Saint actually is. Saints, recognized based on public acclaim or the vox populi, vox Dei (voice of the people, voice of God). Same explanation of their walk into the police station and knowledge of language. Saints. lol
Me and my best friend dressed up as the brothers for Halloween. Zero women knew who we were but every dude knew who we were
You should have dressed up as Rocco and the cat :)
@@simonfrederiksen104 lmao that would have been funny
Omg! Cosplay WIN!!
Haha this doesn’t surprise me. I happen to discover this movie by accident. I was given someone’s DVD case (a long time ago) I watched all the movies and this was amount them. Since then I’ve introduced this movie to several of my fellow female friends. They always loved it! My friend still references the line “we’re like 7/11, we aren’t always busy but we’re always open.”
@@cindymcanders great quote! Crazy your female friends liked it! It’s men being men lol
I forgot to say I love you shirt Camp Anawanna. I used to love watching Salute Your Shorts as a kid. The actor that plays Budnick has a small role in Terminator 2 playing John Conner’s friend
Yeah, that guy was here and there all through the 90s 🥰
21:49 "There was a FIRE FIGHT!!!" Willem Dafoe is such a hoot in this! 😂😎
He is CONSUMING the scenery and I’m here for it!
Couple of Fun Facts: 1. The bartender is played by the same actor who played Doc on Fraggle Rock. 2. This was filmed in Toronto and the dinner where Rocco kills the wise guys is a real place. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon and even sat in the same booth.
i STILL use "why don't you make like a tree, AND GET THE 🤬 OUTTA HERE!".....to this day.
real 1s KNOW 😉
Omg your analysis on agent smecker at the end was amazing I had never thought of how conflicted he is not only in his morality concerning the saints
@21:53, did anyone else do the drum beat in their head?
Finding out the old assassin was their father was the best reveal since the end of The Usual Suspects.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t see it coming 😂
Thank you again for reacting to one of my favorite movies. It is definitely worth a rewatch, not sure if you missed they covered the "cat stain" on the wall with a framed picture
AHAHAHA I did 😂
Another entertaining movie with stellar cast that has been neglected lately is "Out Of Sight."
I posted on your announcement... Found my pictures from 2015.. way back. Lol. I forgot i had David de la Rocca "Rocco" sign his "... I'll have a Coke then " it's an awful joke but that delivery was gold. The tripping.. Sweating. Stammering trying to soften the joke while everyone else is stepping in on it. Great film hard to believe how much action you could get from a relatively small budget.
I sure wasn’t able to get any of the setup into the video 😂 definitely one of those “I’m laughing but I shouldn’t” things 😂
Thank you for sharing this reaction. I hope that you will continue with its sequel. Julie Benz is especially memorable in that.
Julie Benz? Say less 💜
@@RhetoricalThrill I intended that as a teaser rather than a spoiler. My apologies if I erred.
The two
dudes in this went in to major stuff. I love that!
Thank you for being one of the few people on YT to react to this movie. Glad you enjoyed it. The second movie is good, and others have already given their suggestions for it.
Gonna have to check out your channel. I'm interested to see what more you bring.
Thanks! I hope you find more to enjoy 😊
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!😊😊😊😊
Thanks for watching!
2:02 I've seen this bartender in one other thing. The old man from Fraggle Rock.
Ohhh I used to watch that but I don’t remember it well enough
These are not polite suggestions! These are codes of behavior! I absolutely love that line.
I thought you had done "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, " but I don't see it in the YT search. If you haven't done it yet, put it on the list. It's the sort of thing you would like. 👍
I’ve done a few other Shane Black movies on the channel, but not that one. I saw KKBB a long time ago, but I do remember liking it a lot!
I will never not smile everything I see this movie and people enjoying it. Fun fact the bartender with turrets was the doc who loved above the fraggles on fraggle rock.
I don’t remember Fraggle Rock enough but I love that
One of my top 3 favorite movies of all time. If not my favorite of all time.
Twins, even fraternal twins, often are born with one being right handed and one being left handed.
I didn’t even know they were twins 😂
If you are a fan of "The Boondock Saints' I highly recommend the Documentary film "Overnight". It's about the writer/director's (Troy Duffy) path to getting this film made. The story is so crazy, watch a promising young film maker get destroyed by his ego.
I just googled it - It's on my list now, thanks!
One of the best action movies of the 90s... which is saying _alot._
I don't think Smecker has self-hatred. He's just a gay man who doesn't like the gay stereotype. You have to remember this movie came out when the multiple gay stereotypes were "phased out" by the media (under pressure of the LGBTQ community) and were replaced by the single effeminate musical fashion "queer". Something that's not well known is that a rather large part of the gay community isn't a fan of the LGBTQ community because they keep pushing this stereotype and feel that anyone that doesn't fit that stereotype is being neglected by them. Honestly, I can't blame them, because from a pure objective standpoint, it seems being gay is more of a lifestyle than actually being attracted to someone of the same gender.
Was also thinkin something along those lines. I mean everyone gets thrown in to a narrow set of boxes on first eye contact, that's pretty much human nature, but damn the boxes he has to put up with must be infuriating, especially since he comes across as hating that boxes, lazy labels and the lazy minded people that pretty much live their lives with those boxes, labels and are perfectly happy with them and don't seem to feel boxed in.
That’s a really good point I hadn’t thought of. That time was very chaotic for gay people, getting kind of shoved into a mainstream-friendly image in order to be accepted. So him rebelling against that is also very fitting.
For me, the scenes with the brothers are the best scenes throughout the movie. I wanted to see more of them.
They were great! I loved their characters 💜
in my top 3 movies of all time
Same Here!!
I first saw this when I was in college. Absolutely amazing movie!
Got here from a criticism of the movie & your reaction totes reminded me why I love this movie xD
Yay! I’m glad 🙂 I’m not against critical takes, of course, I do it myself if warranted, but i didn’t find much to pick at here
One of my favorite bits about this movie is the behind the scenes of the cat scene. They all knew the airgun was going off for the wall spray but it was way louder and not when they expected it. Hence why Norman Reedus is barely in character if at all during his reaction.
😂
Willem Dafoe was amazing in this film. If I have to pick one scene, though: It's the final court room scene. Gives me goose bumps every time.
It’s so good
The intro music from this movie was used in my wedding
Love it
The sequel is sillier, but still good. Though it is called All Saints Day, it is not set on the holiday😅
I love this movie lol. Also loving the editing with the reaction. Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it 😊
I remember back in early 2000s I was working at a movie theater as a teen. I few people were talking about this film. I never heard of it and didn’t bother to see it. When Boondocks Saints 2 was about to be released I decided to watch the first one so I can see the sequel. When I watched the first movie I was so getting into the movie. I went to see the sequel when it came out. I wish there was a third movie
It should definitely be seen more!
@@RhetoricalThrill I agree
Sweet! 🙌🏼 I haven't seen Boondock Saints in a little while. It's such a great movie! Glad you liked it! It was cool watching your reaction.
Thanks for watching it! I had a GREAT time with it 😊
My friend loved this movie in college, watched it all the time. Very different and entertaining movie
29:39 You just know those in the front row got some skull and brain matter on them as a parting gift
🤣
My all-time favoritest movie.
I can see why!
I love your reactions for this, one of my absolute favorite movies! Definitely subscribing cause I need to watch your reaction to the second movie 😍
Happy st Patrick's day!
🍀🍀🍀 Thank you!
29:43 dude just had two pistols and a shotgun at the back of his head, pretty greusome when you remember the russian from earlier then add the shotgun. I would imagine that would explain the look Dafoe gsve there.
"Look at that nasty thing..."
Idle Hands 😉 are the Devil's playground
Love Seth Green in that - "Look at me!!! I'm Leatherface!!!"
⭐️ that movie has the most random quotes and I use one of them pretty much daily 😂 Go go buffalo!
Good react: this movie is one of those fimls that is a good test for how well someone is at reacting to movies for me and you nailed it.
Thank you for the compliment! I’m glad you liked it 😊
Immediately upon seeing your shirt I started singing the Camp Anawanna theme song in my head!! Excellent shirt and an excellent reaction!!
An individual of taste 💜
10:19 Is that right Rambo...
"HALLELUJAH, Jaffar!"
I love this one. Great movie, great cast. Fun action scenes that are absolute chaos. That great bit with showing the events' outcome, then going back and showing how it happens. And such a fun surprise at the end.
It reminded me of Tarantino, but with a different flavor
I loved your reaction, and the shirt is AMAZING! Your reaction was so on point and it definitely is a torn kind of feelings about what they do, and their methods. You were 100% right about the moral code and the slippery slope that you can be on, the razor’s edge. Willem Dafoe definitely has some self hatred, and he’s gay but he looks down on the other type that he uses degrading terms for. He is definitely a genius and it’s pretty funny that later he finds out it was 1 guy with 6 guns who’s a senior citizen, lol. GREAT reaction, and you have a new subscriber. I look forward to more reactions!
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊 I’m glad to have you here, welcome, and I hope I can keep making you happy!
I haven't watched yet, and I don't think this would be good for a reaction, but there's a documentary about the guy that made this film called "Overnight", that you have to see! It's a long story, but the dude, his brother and friends, came to LA from Boston because they were trying to make it with their band, and he was a bouncer at an Irish pub in West Hollywood, that doesn't exist anymore. He had no experience in screenwriting or filmmaking, but wrote this script, showed it to a guy he knew from the bar, who showed it to someone else, and all of a sudden had all this overnight hype about him and this script. He was being lauded as the next great thing, and he was presented with an opportunity that probably only comes along once in three lifetimes. Harvey Weinstein was going to buy the script, let him direct it himself, let their band do all the music, and buy the Irish pub and co-own it with him! But long story short, this guy was such a conceited asshole that he eventually just pissed everyone off. Eventually Harvey Weinstein had enough, and told him to go fuck himself. They did manage to find someone else to make it on half the budget, and it is a great flick, but by the time it was all said and done, even his own brother didn't want anything to do with him anymore! It became such a cult hit, that someone did eventually put up the money for a sequel since they knew the first was popular enough that they'd still make money, but it wasn't as good, but basically that was it for him. It sounds kind of cruel out of context, but the documentary is fun to watch because this guy is literally such an asshole that it's just so much fun to hate him for it.
Ok yeah, that sounds fascinating. I like behind the scenes stuff like that. I’ll definitely check it out!
Girl I've got a great movie for you. No other reactor has done it. It's older than the majority of your Patreon people. "Hooper" just trust me. Everyone will love it.
9:34 “Then, I’ll have a coke!”
🙊 😂
I can’t wait for number 2
M'Lady, you are absolutely Crushing It lately. One of my Top 10 favourite movies of all time. Brilliant writing, awesome and occasionally hilarious action, an excellent cast, and a very cool soundtrack. Cheers and Salutations from Canada. 🥃☮❤
Thanks SilentBob! I’m loving it 💜
I absolutely LOVE your shirt! Great reaction; new sub!❤
Yay! Thank you!
Another fun reaction. I think there are times when these methods would be useful like when the law fails or when corruption protects terrible people. But reality tells me the people taking on this role would end up also abusing their power, and then you'd end up needing someone to take care of them.... so where does it stop.
I guess the law is the best system we've got, we just need that system to be more accountable for mistakes.
I’m inclined to agree. The Saints seem like they’re guided by goodness but most people would be too easily swayed by the power. Even Rocco, who I don’t think was a terrible guy, wasn’t able to avoid it.
@@RhetoricalThrill It's definitely fun to watch in a movie though, and there is definitely some wishful thinking, if you know what I mean lol.
Insightful recap and interpretation, especially Defoes character
Thank you so much!

I love Happy Gilmore! It’s in my top 2 Adam Sandler movies 💜
30:00 Lauren Graham:)
Boondock Saints is a cult classic. Another film that deals with the idea of vigilantism is Death Wish (1973) with Charles Bronson, and very smartly addresses the problem in the film itself. And that was in the 1970s, when crime in cities like New York was rampant, and the police weren't doing their job right (basically, because of allegations of police brutality, cops weren't all that keen to risk their lives only to get charged with using excessive force). The other Death Wish films are a bit of a slaughterfest, but they were cathartic.
Then there's a B-movie with Michael Rooker, called Renegade Force (1998), and a similar theme was in Magnum Force (1973).
I’ve heard of Death Wish but never saw it 💜
@@RhetoricalThrill well worth it. Kinda like Rambo, the 1st one is a wee bit differnt in tone than the sequels, but they're good.
I love your Salute Your Shorts shirt
Thank you!
its sad to see George RR Martin turn to crime

and they did the Work Police wasn´t , give them a Medal and Ressources ...
Even the police were on board in the end! At least some of them, I didn’t notice if Greenly got invited 😂
Just came across channel out of now where. Watched and subbed. I have loved thos movie since it came out. I am of Irish and Norwegian decent . Adopted. Here in USA 🇺🇸 . I saw this movie 🎬 day one and haven't even watched it in years. I was surprised to say the least that it just popped up on my TH-cam. You're bit only beautiful but you also do great reaction and it was nice to watch and you made it even better. Keep going and fck fools. ! I sipped some Irish whiskey while watching it also.
Thank you so much for being here! I hope I can keep making you smile 😊
5:22 Hey why should Greenly go get him a bagel? Greenly thought they were on the run and Dafoe thought it was going to take "grunt police work" to bring it in. They're equally wrong.
I know but it made me laugh 😂

But also . Fantastic casting and dialogue... Then again . There's a reason Christopher McQuarrie is a great director (and writer too.. this is just another one).

I do like Billy 🥰
This movie was supposed to come out shortly after the Columbine School shooting. Uh, rather. It was scheduled to come out at a time, then Columbine happened like a week before then, and some executives thought that a movie about two well armed vigilante killers in black trench coals MIGHT be the right subject matter for the time.
OOF

Smecker survived because of the "No Women" rule...
1999 was just one of those years with bangers growing up. For my generation, it might have even been a peak for entertainment. I always loved the ethical debate in this. I tend to side with the brothers, but know it can get out of hand really quickly and those doing it can get God complexes, so it's probably not best to do it at all. The concept is why I really got into the Anime 'Death Note', because it raises the same moral debate. Where does the line get drawn?
Yes, it did a great job showing both sides without demonizing the brothers. I’d sure feel safer with them around…but just them 😅
very good movie and vid
