      Many years ago I had several boomerangs - made them myself. They were killing machines, no chance to catch them. They easily could kill a medium sized bird like a crow or pigeon. I never threw them at anything alive, of course, they were fun as they were, without any killing...

    This man is a happy man , so understanding of the laws of nature. A boomerang is a system which stores energy in a rotary motion gyroscopic motion and uses this energy to push a set of wings which are radial to the motion and so it is able to fly. In order for a boomerang to come back it must be launched at an angle and then it would fly like a banked winged aircraft where the ailerons are applied. The gyroscopic effect and the presession on a gyro as applied to a boomerang is quite complex and I cannot help admiring this young man at tasting the beauty of the invisible and silent actions and procedures behind his flights. That is what makes any man happy, as he drinks the knowledge that is around us and what is more, he has a beautiful natural fresh environment to do it in. Those pictures of Austria reminds me of the film, " The sound of music" and it seems that he is not far off the location where that film was made. Congratulations to this young man and hope that he does not suffer any more than light bruises with those large boomerangs. Prosit.

    I really LOVE boomerangs... As a kid, those always fascinated me.. but i was poor and my dad only gave me one once... and i trown it, you know.. hoping it would come back.. hehe.. but i perhaps used too much force and it was gone forever to me...
    I was in a beach town in a hotel, but indeed i was in a town.. I now think that it is still a lovely toy and extremely interesting and exciting to play, but only if you live in a farm or something (or if you have very large places to play with it)... I was kind of a 'city kid' , but if someday i get rich, i will definetley learn the boomerang.. for it is lovely... And it even got a kind of phylosophical analogy and stuff.. You can say that a boomerang is like a lover, 'if you do just the right thing, it will always come back' and etc...
    Well in short i love boomerangs and recurrent lovers :)

    • @ClickKlack43
      @ClickKlack43 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seife41 I suppose it wouldn’t, but I also (wild) guess that the original utility of the returning boomerang was in fast redeployment in case one did miss the shot while hunting. I am pretty confident that they were used for hunting, at least. I vaguely remember hearing that presented as fact somewhere, otherwise this is all just uninformed speculation, and I’ll probably head over to Wikipedia to look at least puddle-deep into the History and utility of boomerangs.
      Anyone who is knowledgeable, please let us know.

    • @ClickKlack43
      @ClickKlack43 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seife41 So, they were definitely used for hunting, but it didn’t address the return specifically in that context, at least on Wiki.

      @@ClickKlack43 The boomerang is basically a club that travels further then a stick or typical wooden club. They came about because humans have the ability to learn through observation, certain sticks flew further than others so what was the difference. Over time the human mind was able to create a wing out of wood with predictable flight.
      And in reality, weapon boomerang s fly in a straight line and are heavier then "sport" boomerangs. Returning boomerang s were used to trick birds into thinking a natural preditor was flying overhead and the birds would fly low into nets the humans had erected. Again, an example of MOST humans ability to observe and applying the knowledge gained.
      But too many people think boomerang s are toys, Build one that can complete a certain task and you see them in a different light, or cut your fingers off because you lack common sense.

      I've often had GOOD boomerangs circle completely around behind me, back out in front and return to the spot I threw from, with the same approach as single arc would have done, IOW in a spiral. Just as cool is when they do the same thing but stop flying while still fairly high in the air with enough spin to 'helicopter' vertically down like a sycamore seed (again, sometimes to the spot thrown from, or close).
