    Bitless and Barefoot is what I've done for the past 20 years with all my horses and absolutely agree - bitless and barefoot is the way to go!

    It is so inspiring to see a professional rider competing bitless and barefoot and proving that you can ride a horse bitless at any level, not just for basic hacking or children riding in halters. Bitless is the future of horse health in the equestrian industry!

    RIGHT ON! SIDEPULL IS A GOOD START FOR THOSE WANTING TO GET RID OF THE BIT. BAREFOOT IS BEST, AND THE HOOF WILL HEAL IT'S SELF IF GIVEN A CHANCE. WE HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN TO A HORSE OF OUR OWN, MUSTANG TRIMS GOOD DIET AND HOOF BOOTS FOR OUTING. LOVE YOUR PASSION TO HELP THE HORSE AND AMAZED AT YOUR SKILL👏👏👏 Susan

    Back when I used to ride, I presented this stance and finding about facial nerve damage from bits - and I was mocked and alienated from all my equestrian friends. They completely cut me off. Keep up the good fight.

    Thank you for helping forge the way. I have worked for several world class competitors in endurance racing who got the laws changed in their areas to be allowed to compete shoeless. Yet still there are many barns I visit where I keep my views to myself because of the harsh beratement and exclusion you receive from traditional riders. I should speak up more. Things need to change!

    Oohh... I like that. Especially in the footage of the competitive jumping, it’s easy to see that the horse isn’t afrad of getting pulled in the mouth at all.... the neck moves more freely and you can see that the balance and pattern of movement is way better than horses ridden with a bit... Woah. Great!
    I haven’t been riding for 10 years but I’m thinking of starting again... only I don’t like the thought of constraining animals and making them uncomfortable ... so this is hopeful.

      Happy that you liked the idea enough to give it a go 🤗 ...You are right the horses are not at all afraid and it’s beautiful to see the harmony between horse and rider.

    It's just to bad that still many European Countires forbid Bitless riding in Competitions, you get flat out disqualified when riding bitless... This belief of having to control your horse is disgusting🤢

    Bits aren't brakes, although they can serve as emergency brakes. I can understand making the mistake when you begin learning, but that is when teachers are most needed. After that it is practice, practice, practice so that no matter what (horse is excited, nervous, scared) you can control and guide them without needing to (or instinctively reverting to) putting alot of pressure on the bit.

    I started bitless half a year ago due to dental issues and now we have been barefoot for the first couple of weeks. She seems to be quite cautious oh dirt road- I hope it does not leave permanent fear or damage the hoof. She's recovering from ulcer. Heart of a compete horse - however years of neglect. Good quality of hoofs- being a Finnhorse (cold blooded). I am planning to compete in the future too.

      @@Utopia0Miles Thanks! I was finally able to buy the super expensive ulcer medication for her and I'm hoping she will go back to the way she was- and I can start competing too. But it is OK for her to have a bit of sick leave now anyways for the hoofs to harden and so on.

    Brilliant vidio just bought a rising 5 year old pony. I am keeping her barefoot. Her previous owner rode bitless. But not barefoot. Steering with seat legs and body. I am doing my best to continue this way of riding. Horrible pulling on horses mouths with a bit.

    I ride my 22-year-old Arabian who I’ve had since he was one year old. He has no shoes no bit, we cross hard road with traffic we ride In the mountains of Adams County Pennsylvania. It is very rocky here and he never comes up lame! His hooves and my other two horses are extremely strong and have an actual natural hoof shoe that God intended them to have. My quarter horse popcorn and Lakota Mustang cross have never been nailed and never will. They also ride with no bit and no shoes. You have to be willing to give your horses hooves time to go without shoes it might take a year or two but you will see a major difference in their health. The horses hooves are no different than your own fingernails and toenails you keep them covered up too long with fake nails or fingernail polish you’re going to have health issues. ❤ I have many many years and miles and experience with no bit, no shoes and no issues. Wonderful lady who trims my horses hooves knows how to correctly give them a Barefoot Trim and file… Barely ever takes anything off of the hooves, hasn’t had any need to. She also has friends who ride barefoot in the Allegheny Mountains near Windber Pennsylvania… And everyone in the riding club can’t believe they ride without shoes and guess what they are the only ones without issues while everybody else has some kind of issue with a cracked hoof or losing a shoe. I’m not trying to be smart but it’s true experience out on the trails! Stating the facts through experience. You can try to argue but unless you’ve experienced it for years and years please do not.

    She proves that conventional thinking is not appropriate for bits and shoes. Horses have been around for over a million years, and people have ridden them for at least 5000 years, Doubt that the Plains Indians of the U.S. bothered with shoes or bits, and they drove the U.S. Cavalry in circles.

    Not to be a negative not every horse can go barefoot due to bad hoofs and that horse is still lame due to his issues. Also side pulls bitless bridle are worse than a bit.

    • @emmalink6249
      @emmalink6249 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sidepull bridle is actually really soft, much better than a bit. However, a crossunder bitless bridle is not the best, sins the mechanical side of it isnt as developed yet, so it doesnt realese pressure as quickly, and the hackamore is also not very good sins its basically as strong as a bit. But the sidepull is soft and one of the best ones, most horses like it due to its softness and good pressure points, it gives quick releases and you can give really subtle signs for your horse. Its made for the horses comfort. So i disagree with your last scentence, i would recommend that you read a bit about the bridle and how it works.
