I miss my 1995 Supra, bought her in 2007 from Toyota, white targa top, 5 speed NA for $8k, 1 owner, 34k miles, cloth interior. Ended up selling her to get me through grad school in 2011.
@Legend-lc9bv I bought my NA 5 speed for $8k... you could get a Twin Turbo 6 Speed Supra back then for $35k directly from the Toyota dealership. Your average joe could afford them.
next time you want to start a car quicker, take off the air intake hose from the throttle body and just spray starting fluid inside the throttle and then turn the key to start. also add fresh gas before cranking the engine. it's fuel injected so it's not good to press the gas pedal to try and start it because the fuel injectors do that automatically. only carbureted engines require you to pump the gas to start the engine. also some throttle body injection vehicles might need that as well if not started after long periods of time. Good video!!
All MK4 (JZA80) Supra's have a 2JZ in-line 6 cylinder. The GTE are the Turbo engines and the GE are the non-turbo engines. They are both quite similar internally, with the major differences being the turbo engines have oil squirters and different heads. The GE has the intake manifold which goes across the head, the major visual giveaway and the GTE has the intake manifold on the right side of the head. The GTE head flows better. They also have different exhaust manifolds as you would imagine the GTE feeds the twin turbo's. I reckon in this automatic turbo targa spec, depending on mileage, guessing under 30miles since it sat still since 2011, would be worth around $35K dollars.

One of my favorite things about keeping this Supra original is that they are SEQUENTIAL twin turbos . Meaning the turbos are actually different sizes and so while running the smaller turbo spools up and gives some boost THEN after the specific rpm and speed the second turbo kicks in and it’s feels awesome. Just add a boost controller and enjoy cruising in my dude . 1200 hp cars are terrible to live with

Actually, turbo timers are to keep the oil from stopping in a hot turbo and caking up causing it to starve the turbo. Years ago there was a debate in the Subaru community about their need on EJ's and weren't necessary because the EJ has a oil/coolant flowing through the turbo and due to kinetic flow, the coolant would still circulate through the system and cool the turbo off before the oil has time to burn and start solidifying in the lines. They are still highly recommend on turbos that are only oil cooled. There were a lot of 80's and 90's turbo cars that were garbage because they had engine issues and most of it was due to this.

Sitting for 12-14 years. Maybe someone would give $10k as a base entry point. Would need to drop a lot more after. All the hoses, lines, bushes changing. All new fuel lines, filters, hope the pump and sender units are OK. Discs, brake lines and pads. New tyres all round. Strip the clearcoat damage back and hope you don't have to repaint everything. All that and that's before you hope the engine and turbo check out as OK, which would be the big unknown
It’s fascinating how a simple detail can make a car look like it’s been well maintained and garage kept its whole life, even if it’s been parked in a yard for 15 years. If you ever sell a car on marketplace get it detailed.
If this was my car, I'd just clean it up and drive it. Enjoy it for what it is, not what it could be. Plenty of others have already done that. It's getting ever rarer to see these things untouched. But I say all that because that's my ultimate goal with my 1997 Prelude. Fix the few mechanical issues it has, fix the two dents and the paint, put the stock spoiler on, and just drive it.
In December 1994 when I was 24 years old, I bought a new 94 black twin turbo targa with the 6spd manual from a dealership in Virginia Beach. It was my only car and was used as my daily driver. They were extremely expensive at that time and Toyota dealers actually had a really hard time selling them. I remember one dealer advertising a promotion where if you paid full sticker for a Surpra they would give you a new Tercel for free. Not kidding. After 4 years and around 75k miles I traded the Supra for a Ford Expedition when they first came out in 97. I found the Supra to be a poorly built car made of very cheap materials and it was prone to problems with the rear end and wheel bearings. Also the front brake rotors had to be changed at least 3 times because they would warp badly. Otherwise it was a very fun car to own and drive at the time. Their epic rise in value following that movie still blows my mind. There is nothing about that car which would make it worth the kind of money they have been selling for over the last few years. Considering their build quality I'm surprised any of them still exist today.

Crazy money to buy one now in uk ,
Great vid guys
Holyy, is it just me or that is the most neat looking engine for something that has been abandoned for almost 14 years
Sitting for 12-14 years.
That’s what you’d offer and you’d be low. About $10k low. That car in the way it sits is in the low to mid $20’s all day.

2011 to 2024 is 13 years^^
Who said it was last washed in 2011 🤔
😂 You're wrong, 2011 wasn't 13 years ago... it wasn't... it .. oh god 😢
2001 :(
It’s fascinating how a simple detail can make a car look like it’s been well maintained and garage kept its whole life, even if it’s been parked in a yard for 15 years. If you ever sell a car on marketplace get it detailed.
No one is going to question the badassery of this car, this is in no way a “super car”!
2JZ-GTE is turbo. 2JZ-GE is Non turbo..
Like this comment if you think supras are cool
If this was my car, I'd just clean it up and drive it. Enjoy it for what it is, not what it could be. Plenty of others have already done that. It's getting ever rarer to see these things untouched.
But I say all that because that's my ultimate goal with my 1997 Prelude. Fix the few mechanical issues it has, fix the two dents and the paint, put the stock spoiler on, and just drive it.
You're my favorite TH-camr I love how you clean the cars that's so nice though

i had to come back and comment again... the KEEPS add was funny lol
Dudes detailing build out was sick
