OMG yes this is my favorite Lana album!! Listening to Lanas songs is like listening to summer and the teenhood I thought I would have when I was younger

Her born to die era gave me the same feeling as Effy Stonem did.

Born to Die Paradise Edition was absolutely my inspiration for nearly my entire adolescence. I never got into her other albums quite the same way and you really verbalized why. Thanks for making this video!

The actual aesthetic is such a perfect summer vibe. I think the aesthetic wiki finally has it as "vintage Americana" or something.
It was December 2011 and I was on a trip in London, and my hotel lobby played music videos on a TV. "Video Games" came on and I was entranced. The editing seemed aimed right at my soul. "Blue Jeans" also had a similar style video before being replaced. Eventually I downloaded bootlegged chopped versions of her releases in chunks. I was really into it, but no one else seemed to be (I'm like 10 years older than you, and wasn't part of that Tumblr crowd). A friend mocked her "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" description specifically for racial appropriation. Then the SNL performance happened and everyone blasted her. A few albums later, and she's now a prestigious Pitchfork favorite. Huh!
I've loved some of her post-BTD songs, but no album has hit like that one. Meanwhile it's almost like a shameful former life to the music critics.

Goodness Grr-acious, I had no idea BTD was that important in your life. NONE! I know nothing about LDR except what I saw here and you interested me to the point that I was like preparing a case for trial: furrowed brow, re-read (re-watch), take notes. "She glamorized the unglamorous", "made the mundanity of working class America cool". Dear God, THAT is an accomplishment! Sincerely! That is AMAZING. That is a paradigm shift. I'll tell you man, that is uber-impressive and this was an incredibly educating video to me. You were also rigidly truthful and sincere: nothing that came after lived up to BTD. Isn't that what your fashion aesthetic is all about: Not forever, for one day, one night, you are the queen. A google thumbs up! 👏👏👏👏

I feel sooo validated that I'm not the only person who went/still is absolutely feral for B2D. The impact it had on the culture of the 2010s (music, fashion, general attitude) cannot be overstated. Respectfully disagree on your album rankings but totally agree that the unique sound of the B2D era is so unique. She's definitely honed her writing talents in later albums, and I'd love to see that married with the fun production of B2D. However, I question if she'd still receive the critical acclaim she received for everything post NFR if she were to go back to the Lizzie Grant sound.
Either way, Lana is a cultural icon and has impacted the lives of so many people. Your video definitely captured this! P.S. also your eye makeup is perfect.

Lana say it in her song "you were sorta punk-rock, I grew up on hip-hop", that's she and I 😂 but I love her music, the nostalgia feel. Favorite song Dark Paradise.

To me Lust for Life was the album that changed my life (I felt so seen lol). But I was also a teen during BtD era and I definitely agree that one of the things that made it so special it's that it was so 2010's. I see the resurgence of the era on tiktok, and I know that it's not that deep, but it's not the same with today's trends (I think NFR is the album for that, but that's talk for another day). Great video as always, and my favorite song from BtD it's National Anthem.

It’s so crazy to think that BTD came out in middle school which was 2010 for me 😭this changed everything omg. Everyone hated me because I was the cool emo girl people actually hated but the second ppl found out I loved Lana and I went to see her in concert I was hated even more. The sheer see thru Peter Pan shirts and retrica was iconic and the RED CONVERSE ugh

Btd isnt my favorite album (UV girl) , but I kinda wish for a second btd styled album, too. The other albums grew on me through their lyrics, some through their production. Except the Chemtrails album as a whole, I‘m really not into Country-Lana. Back , when Chemtrails came out, I bought the german RollingStone and when the interviewer said, that „Dark but just a game“ is probably her best song I was like
👁👄👁didyouevenlistenedtoherothersongs?!?? (He also asked ,if White Dress is her first song where she sings this high; this was the part I realized he didn’t listened to her at all🙄) . To conclude my weird comment (I’m so hyped bc of your video 😁) , I think we‘ll never get a second btd album, bc it’s hard to meet the demands the original set and Lana is probably not in the mood anymore 🥲 My favorite song of btd is Ride (+the video) (and Summertime Sadness, ahhh I can’t decide!! ss is 100% nostalgia for my early teen years) , I literally almost cried ,watching it the first time. Back in 2011(me, at the age of 11), when Video Games was released, I really thought that this was the kind of music I’ve always searched for. Then I missed the release of btd album (had no internet back then and didn’t see it in the stores) and in 2018, when I read „Lolita“ I googled the book , to understand it better, and everytime Google suggested the Lolita music vid. I gave it a chance and since then I‘m 100% into her discography. I literally listened to btd album everyday for over a year, so now my family hates her, what I don’t understand bc I could listen to it 24/7. Really, there’s no way I could ever get enough. I‘m sorry for this embarrassingly long, weird ass comment, if you made it this far, I wish you a beautiful day 💖
