A very quick video (on an annoyingly windy day), whereby I run through some of the tools and products I use to maintain a motorbike chain. This was by far from the perfect clean and certainly not a deep clean, however, I do this every 100 miles, so it needs to be quick and easy.
I will do a full deep clean of the chain and sprocket in the coming months.

Nice, do you find the slack hard to judge on this bike? I try to take a measurement halfway down the swing arm but the chain seems very close to it by default making it hard to take a good measurement.
For cleaning, I used to use aerosols like yourself but I moved on to kerosene in a spray bottle, and gear oil which I apply with an old toothbrush. I wipe of the excess with a rag. I find it does not fling around as much as that stuff and lasts just as long. I think gear oil is actually recomended in the manual, you will save a bomb if you move over to it.

Bro just buy diesel (500ml) for cleaning the chain which is more cheaper than motul cleaner ,,,,for lubing u can use motul or some other product available in your place

    Great video! Many thanks!
Btw, which stand do you use for your bike? Anything special?
Would be nice if you could do video about how to use stand on this exact model of bike.

Hey, I will do a video on the stand if that helps. I can then drop all the details and links in the description.

Do mine every weekend since I commute everyday all year round. Zero rust, just have to stay on top of it.

Yea it’s a task I try and do each weekend. It literally takes minutes, so it’s no bother. I think I had slightly crept over the 100 miles this time and we have had some pretty damp weather, so that hasn’t helped. Thanks for the comment 🙌🏻

I stand a piece of board up between the chain and tyre,it saves spraying the cleaner and wax onto the tyre/wheel.
Might as well take the chain guard off and give that a once over too.👍

Thats a good idea. I am going to purchase some of the disposable chain guards for this task going forward. It makes sense as I am doing this so regularly. Thanks for tuning in.

If you have to do that every 100 miles you might want to switch to an ATV

Hey, as I said in the video, it’s not a laborious task so I have no issue doing this every 100 miles. Appreciate the comment 🙌🏻
