You guys are awesome. Catch two or three, release the rest, while having an absolute ball, all while sharing with us your great experience. There isn't any fishing much better than seeing Yellowfin jumping. Thank you.
White Shirt for Tuna fishing.... naaaa! ;) Awesome this shows the carnage and fight and struggle pretty good, and you two are beasts...imagine a weekend warrior hooking up ;)
Benny, it was so cool seeing you back and kicking serious butt on the yellow fin. Benny out here in California, we have had killer fishing for Blue Fin, Albacore, yellow fin in the southern state down San Diego way. Keep it up bro.
Benny, our Chinook Salmon season opens April 15th 2025 and I have it down as well as you do on the reef mate. Anyway there is alot of fishing id love to show you and I'm sure you would love where we would get them. I'm thinking the videos of this fishing would make great television. I'll work on my part.
@arasa630 I think all the major braid brands are good. Use 8-strand for casting. I have found Suffix 832 to be quite thick and thus quite heavy when wet, so it is not ideal for casting. Last week, we landed a 78 kg Yellowfin on 65lb or PE 6 braid. It took an hour, with 3 of us taking turns. On the front of my 65lb main line I stich on 10 meters of 100lb braid. We pulled really hard on that 78kg monster. It's almost impossible to break 65lb braid with the correctdrag pressure of around 6.5kg. Once the leader is on the spool, you can pull the last 10m 100lb bit more easily. These are for our applications. It depends on the size Yellowfin you're catching. We find that once they get to 60kg, it's a different ball game. 60kg and over, the fight on casting tackle can be backbreaking, so be warned. If you think 65lb is too little, try 80lb. But the higher the lb rating the thicker and more difficult you'll find it to cast any reasonable distance. Throwing too short can cost you many fish. Some of those stick baits catch wind and don't weigh much. Ok, hope that helps
@@OBCBTTB Congratulation on 78 kg that’s big animal:) We will go to Cost Rica pacific side, last time biggest was only 32 kg, (MPB:) so have no idea how you managed 78 kg but normally it average 30+ kg there. That’s why was asking regarding line, I want that optimum line diam/casting distance ratio. So maybe then will go for PE6 36 kg. But as you know biggest fish always runs away, so :) On stella drag is ~25 kg officially so that 36 kg is close. As i live in North of EU, have no possibility to check these tackles in real world, that’s why you have so many questions. As catching tuna on live bait is not for me, and I see that you catching it the right way, on top water lures:) that’s how I want to catch them, and want to prepare right setup for my journey in few month. Thank you for answers.
Great effort lads, a mate of mine got horribly sick eating fish he left lying on the deck with gut and gill left in and not iced down. Hope you blokes fare a little better

Hello nice footage 👍what diameter braid you use? Thanks.
I wouldn't go below 65lb.
The answer is in the video description:
"Cast Casting Braid PE8 and 120lb Cast Topwater Leader"
Thanks, yes Im thinking PE8 on stella 14000 will do. Any experience with daiwa j braid expedition? Or maybe suggestions which brand to use?
