    This was a good find but for all G owners out there we have a major water intrusion problem on the passenger side bottom of windshield behind battery. Bad weatherstripping and bad location for fuse box... check all your relays and fuses in this area. Also check to see if water went down through firewall under the glove compartment. BCM is located on the kick panel passenger side. Lots of electrical issues stem from the bcm wet. I put a ton of silicone around the rubber boot behind the battery where the main wiring harness goes through firewall and down to passenger footwell. Take BCM off, open it and dry it out if wet. Even if dry tou should be able to see signs of moisture if any previous issues. Usually these can be cleaned with electronic parts cleaner and good to go. Hope this helps someone chasing gremlins 😂

    Our G’s MUST be brothers. I had the same thing happen to me last night. Car drove find parked it over night come back the next day to turn the key fuse #77 blows every time. I looked at every possibility. Then I just went out and unplugged all my coils and turn the key *Bam fuse pump primed and fuse was solid. Thanks for your help. Not sure what Nissan/Infiniti was thinking powering all these things through 1 fuse. It’s like 15 things this fuse powers.

    Not sure why the problems. I do not want to jinx myself but in 16 years + granted it only drives about 5k miles a year but battery, fluids, brakes, rotors, calipers and of course new valve covers (known to leak on the VQs) but other then that and the ripped drivers seat, the car has been a joy to own. Hope yours gets fixed. These are still one of the most fun cars to own as far as I see it....

    Sooo many Diagnostic Technicians on You Tube are saying "Stay away from aftermarket electronic parts. In nearly all cases, they are of lesser quality." They may work initially, but they will fail a lot sooner than OEM. I too been burnt by cheap parts from Ebay and Amazon. I learned my lesson.

    • @MotordyneG35

      The only reason I use aftermarket is the lifetime warranty from O'Reilly Auto Parts. New coils are free if they fail, so to get new ones cost me $0. All of my parts are from O'Reilly Auto Parts if they have lifetime warranty. My alternator, starter, fuel pump, cam sensors, radiator, coilpacks, ect. because I'm never selling my car so any failure on those components cost me nothing to replace once they go bad.
      This is the 2nd time these coilpacks really made me regret chasing that lifetime warranty. I thought I got a bad batch the first time because the car would randomly die with no codes. Replaced all 6 for free.
      This time 4 years later, blew ecu fuse and no code. OEM coilpacks throw a P0300 code and then you know.

    I had same issues, threw spark plugs and coil packs, fuel pump, cam and crank shaft sensors at it. Long story short The pcm got wet from infinitys crappy rubber gromet on passenger side footwell. $1,400 later she runs perfect. Check the windshield plastic rubber (weather stripping) replace it before water seeps into the power control module n frys it. Had to get a new one andvre programmed to my car. 1 month later its good and home but car runs high idle, not sure if it needs to relearn the idle
    Edit: car shut down randomly on highway, no rain at all. Gave a cylinder 3 misfire code. Took it to shop and they diagnosed it with their good scanner and the ecu could not connect to pcm. Do not let your electronics get wet!

    I just inherited an Altima with a VQ35DE that the previous owner put ebay coils and plugs in it, I pulled the intake manifold, put OE coils and plugs in it, 2 instantly blistered and caught fire. I'm in the same boat, basically, the previous owner used shit coils, burnt out the ECU coil driver. I don't know what to say to people, DO NOT USE NO NAME products for critical components! I mean, you don't have to go full OE, but go with an OE supplier of some kind, Dorman, Denso, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, etc.

I think i have the same problem you have. When i put the key in it turn all the wat to acc but no crank. Still gets power to electrics. I did notice that my security still flashes and I dont remember i doing that before. I put a new starter and battery and I checked all grounding and it was good. @@MotordyneG35 no mine is giving no power at ecu. Datalink port and not recognizing key now. I had corrosion at ipdm so i cleaned them best i could and then also replaced ipdm but still same issues. all fuses seem fine

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep same problem I had, I wasn't able to connect to the ECU. Did you actually pull out the ECCS CONT IGN fuse or just look at it from above? I thought I could see that fuse wasn't blew the 3rd time it did blow by just looking from above; I was wrong. Once I pulled it out, yep it was blown again. This is when it was blowing by just putting the key in the ignition. Are your fans on with the security light solid red?
      That fuse is also tied to the ignition system along with the ECU, so I'm guessing once you start pulling out coil packs you will see the issue I had; it was a coil pack. I replaced the IPDM also which was not needed and unfortunately any electronic parts the dealership will not accept returns on, so I just kept my new IPDM.

    I can’t wait to hear the original Motordyne G35coupe/exhaust again that motivated me to keep and build a Motordyne G35 coupe like I have today!
    Get this, I called Motordyne and asked them if they had any flat style rear canisters like Tyler’s Motordyne exhaust and Motordyne said “yes” they had a sample left sitting in their shop. I offered to buy them where they sold it to me. So now, my Motordyne exhaust is exactly like Tyler’s (flat rear canister tips). And it DOES change to sound from the newer style round tipped canisters! I’m thinking to do a video for comparison… 🤔

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have more passion than me for Motordyne than me, lol. You need to start your own TH-cam channel and let that passion fly; I like it.
      Plus I told you the H pipe also has glass packing in it and over time that glass packing comes out making the exhaust louder. The longer you have it, the louder the Motordyne becomes.

      @@lukes4931that sounds like a bad ECM. Check if an OBD2 can make a connection to it, the other two are also bad ECM symptoms. You can start by swapping the ECM relay with a similar one like the windshield wiper one in the IPDM to check this before spending money, lookup the diagram. Check if the actual ECM fuse is blown also.
