Ive had my curado dc paired with a shimano teramar xx rod for a year now.Absolutely love it.pretty much can fish it in any condition throwing artificial for specks, reds and flounder on ms coast.I always give it a good cleaning and it's still smooth as butter

I love my Curado DC's. I am fairly new to casting gear and love the freedom this gives me to learn the craft. I have 2 I bring with me along with 2 of my favorite spinning reels on each trip. I find myself using the Curados more. Great info as always! Happy Holidays everyone!
    Tight lines!

I've owned many DC reels over the past 2 decades and for me the best one ever is the 2012 Shimano Exsence dc. The control board settings are more precise than the rest. The IDc 4,5 are ok, but the Exsence is the best IMO. I've sold many dc reels over time except my Exsence. I fish saltwater most of the time.

i fish the Curado 150 MGL as well it cast a mile but it does not like salt water even if i rinse it as soon as i am done 2-3 trips it sounds like crap and i gotta bust it down and clean it. My SLX DC’s and Tranx no issues just rinse off good and smooth as ever not the case with the Curado MGL sucks. i will fish the one i have but the one i got for xmas will be returned.

I’m going to live dangerously and go with a tranx 150 for skipping as my next reel purchase. Any tips appreciated. Happy new year to Flats Class nation!

I've been using three Curado 150 DC and one SLX DC for inshore fishing from a kayak for about 1.5 years now and love them. But beware if you don't take care of them the salt water will ruin them. rinse them really good after every trip. I take them apart, clean and lube once a month and sometimes more often and they've held up pretty good. I've had to replace about $60.00 in parts due to corrosion. They have handled big Snook and redfish without a problem.

Great review. I recently had the opportunity to throw the SLX DC and it was awesome. I’ll be buying a DC in the spring.

Love my SLX DCs... As recommended with most saltwater outings, rinse down your gear. Maybe not as much of an issue on Curado DCs, but nonetheless i would even pop both the cover and rinse also.

Great video, CA. been watching them all. I want to get this reel but never owned a baitcaster all I have is spinning gear. Will be fishing out of swfl from land. Seawalls, canals, mangroves, docks, pilings, parks, even freshwater ponds and lakes in the Fort Myers area. Wherever I'm not trespassing 😂. Do you recommend I get the 150 or 200 ? Also the hg or xg model ? What's size rod Do you recommend for land based fishing?
    Thank you

What "UglyStik Baitcasting Rod model" would you recommend for using this Shimano DC reel? Thanks. Really appreciate all you
do-- your FlatsClass Training is very

Thanks to you and watching Larry Dahlberg I finally went out and bought a currado dc 150 8:5. I'm now wanting to pair a good rod with it. what do you recommend? I will be targeting flounder, speckled trout and reds here in south eastern north Carolina.

Captain, I can’t throw a baitcaster to save my soul. Used an abu Garcia black max to try one out. I watch you throw yours and it looks so fun. I’m just itching to invest in a reel I can get some joy with rather than dissatisfaction, but don’t want to experiment only to find I can’t throw an expensive one either. I’ve looked through your videos to see if you have a tutorial, but haven’t found one. Is this the right tool for me?

How would suggest cleaning the reel in salty conditions?

Hey, Captain CA! I ended up picking up two Curado DC 150s and paired them with a 7ft and a 7.5ft incite MH rod. I absolutely love the setup! That being said, I want to get another pair that works better for casting those lighter lures, like a 1/16th oz with a small paddle tail. I can't find much info on using the dc 150 with a medium rod with a fast tip, but what I have found seems like it's not the best reel for lighter lures. With loving the dc 150 so much, is there a similar shimano dc reel that would be better when paired with a medium action rod for those lighter lures? Thanks!

Man I am up in the air in this reel. I love my Chronarch’s I took it out for the first time using the 1/10 oz Ned heads with a Zman Slim Swim and I am not happy. As a matter of fact I traded the reel out with a Chronarch 150 Hg.

This reel is definitely not made for throwing something that light. Wouldn't throw anything less than about 3/8oz total

I would never buy anything but DC reels since I got the SLX. Easily the best out of all the bait casters I own.

So SLX DC for inshore? Brackish and/or intercostal. Debating on SLX or Curado

I paid $70 for my first Bantam Mag plus.
Still got it and a collection of mag baitcasters from Daiwa, Shimano, and Abu.
Electronics and saltwater don't sound great to me.
