    Most species stop making bigger guns when they start opening holes in reality.
    A subgroup of Americans, commonly known as Texans, have a specialized name for these fire arms "personal defense weapons". We are unsure if the name is in jest as the Texan lawyers certainly take the phrasing literally.

      Recently, We managed to get a quote fro mone of these 'Texans', and it goes at such.
      "Well, if if yur gonna defen' ya home, yeh mioght as well turn the baddies int'a fine red mist in the process!"
      (Note: We do not know if it's our translators malfuctioning, or that just being how these 'Texans' Talk.)

      Addendum: These Texans also appear to be made of a mixture of Australian lies and boldness, as well as Floridian stupidity. If they say you need more gun, run. Also, avoid their chili.

    I’m a Russian-Canadian that loves American culture (specifically that part about guns and fighting against tyranny) so I guess I’m all three, my arsenal of airsoft guns and assorted swords, knives, and daggers speaks for itself… apparently 😅

      @@sbritton1313 The training and drills one can practice on airsoft guns can translate over to the real thing, so in practice I guess yeah, the real deal and the 'toys' are one in the same but, in terms of effect and lethality then you'd absolutely be correct.
      My comment about the arsenal of airsoft guns is mainly to project a startling issue with 'gun control' laws in Canada but because of the culture here my views are not only controversial but treasonous too if it weren't for the protected speech laws we have here (think first amendment but extremely subjective and limited).

      If a story is labeled as HFY then that’s the central theme

    • @cassiswyrm8121
      @cassiswyrm8121 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HFY is a subgenre about humans being amazing in some way, started as a response to stories where humans are naturally weaker than the various aliens or supernatural creatures. Some of the first ones to catch on focused on physical superiority and the idea of humans being surprised to find that Earth is actually a nightmare world and the average life-bearing planet is essentially the Garden of Eden by comparison. While this was mostly because those stories then ran with it and did something with the concept, those are now common tropes and are either reused, remixed, or commented on in various ways. While I understand that some might get tired of such things that doesn't mean people are writing it because they can't understand that Earth is smaller than Jupiter.
