The way humans reason is someone says you can't do that and we say why not. Give us time we will figure it out. Why this would be unusual in the universe is a strange idea. Life survives by finding a method to overcome obstacles. This would probably be a universal concept.

Your logic is sound but consideration has to be taken in the level of differences in tech, environment and predators natural to them. At the start of humanity the world has tried to snuff us out with deadly insects to catastrophic weather and wars.
