Leitz Leica M4 Black Paint Cameras and Lenses - Jo Geier - Mint & Rare

In this video I am going to present you FOUR black paint Leica M4 cameras and four lenses:
Leitz Super-Angulon 21mm f/3.4
Leitz Elmarit 28mm f/2.8 9-element
Leitz Summicron 35mm f/2 8-element
Leitz Summilux 35mm f/1.4 Steel Rim
The Leica M4 was introduced by Leitz in 1967 with serial number 1175001 and was in production until around 1975 until serial number 1443170.
The majority was produced in Wetzlar, Germany, but black anodized cameras, produced in Canada, exist.
The total production was around 47.000 units of which just around 4.500 have been made in black paint finish, mostly sold to professional photographers.
A few special versions have been made and I will try to show these in future videos.

Everyone talks about the M3; in the 1970's one of my Photography instructors sold me one of his M4 chrome Leica with 35mm Summicron lens. Did not appreciate how good of camera it was. Fast-forward I now own another M4 chrome bodies, which I do enjoy. So simple, quiet and trouble free. Thanks for the video...Joe

Hallo Jo! Bin gerade über dein Video gestolpert. Danke dafür. Bei der M4 fällt auf, dass der Spannhebel ein anderer als der einer "normalen" M4 ist. Sieht auf wie der einer M3. Hast Du dafür eine Erklärung? Oder gab es erste M4s, die einen Spannhebel der M3 hatten?

Korrekt Christian, gutes Auge.
Auf Kundewunsch wurde einer davon mit einem Spannhebel einer M3/M2 ausgestattet.

sehr schöne Kameras....🙂..aber jetzt hab ich mir erst eine Konica Hexar RF gekauft, aber für die hätte ich gerne ein gutes Voigtländer 35mm... 🙂, habt ihr alle / die meisten lagernd? lg aus Graz BM
