These short films are great. I have been climbing in the alps now for nearly 40 years and recognise a lot of the views and effort to get to these high places. Well done and hope you two make many more.

I am so so so happy to see this video, I can't wait to see the final version! I have gotta seriously into trekking in 2020, and started making videos last year. One of my big objectives this summer is the Eiger up the West Flank. Seeing your future video will be of great help for my preparation :)

Thank you for your comment, I will put the GPS track when making the final video, it would help you stay on the right route, or at least allow you to have a landmark. Do you plan to go alone?

@@never-too-late I will be going with a friend, with whome I have done most mountains in 2021.

well, how many days do you foresee for the ascent?

@@never-too-late The idea would be to start from Grindelwald and hike up to the Bivvy point at ~3000m (without using the train or cable car), spend the night there, then go for the summit early next morning. So just 2 days.
We have already gone in August up to the Bivvy point as preparation and it went quite well.
I'm not too worried about the length of the climb, my friend and I are capable of doing 3000m denivelation in a day. I'm mostly interested if there are tricky sections between the Bivvy point and the summit, I haven't found detailed information so far.

@@Miloristify It's okay then, you already know the area 🙂. After the bivi point, up to the Eiger mushroom, it is not very complicated. Then, it depends on the route you want to take, on the left you follow the ridge, more difficult terrain, or you go around to the right, it's easier, but when everything is frozen in the morning you have to be very careful not to slip (crampons). Then after a fairly steep passage, when you arrive on a mini ridge it becomes easy to the top. On the way back, you have to be very careful, you are tired, there are lots of very slippery little stones, till the end! I also used a strap that I left for rappelling. I had a 60m rope with me to secure the descent.

Very nice teaser with some beautiful images! Me and my friend actually tried the eiger west flank this summer but went to far to the right after the mushroom. We had to turn back because we couldn't find the route again. Looking forward to the extended video!

Great Pictures, nice and sympathic comment...... But why this annoying, aggressive, too loud music? Whoa.

Thank you very much for your feedback. In fact on some equipment the sound is too loud. This is why I published a version of this video with low sound, here is the link: : th-cam.com/video/oTAD14AwKjE/w-d-xo.html
