Honestly didn't know 3rd printers actually start at a reasonable price..idk why I thought they started around 5,000 & up
I think they were like 10 years ago
I thought so too😂
Same here!!!! That’s why I never looked at them at all because in my head I was always saying, “nope why bother even looking at them, they are wayyy out of my price range” but I literally saw his channel and started researching and already ordered my first ever 3D printer for $260.
Same as welder, plasma cutters CNC.u can get all of them cheap
When I was told I had $300-$600 range, I was scriptural, but after this vid it’s actually plenty
Hey Frank, thanks for always putting out great content! Your channel is a must for all printing enthusiasts. Something from one of your older videos I remember was you talking about fatigue. I’ve been on/off on my MK85 for about two years now and to be honest I got burnt out. I’ve since started working on the Mk46 instead. Seeing a different faceplate on my desk reignited the spark. Now I have the flsun V400 on the way as my second printer and I have that passion back for the hobby. Thanks for being my go-to channel for all things 3D!
About 2 months ago I bought the K1 Max on based on your videos. It's my first 3D printer and I absolutely love it. This really is a wonderful hobby.
Dude your videos are so helpful and just love the way you deliver the topic of discussion. Can’t wait to see more, just subbed. Thank you!
Having been printing for a while with a smaller Creality "bed slinger" (didn't know they were referred to that way) I really appreciate all the information you provided in this video. All printers are certainly not made equal and as such should be chosen based on what the designer wants to accomplish since there is not ONE printer to rule them. They're all very good at doing specific things and you pointed these considerations out VERY well! I appreciated the size comparison of all the printers as you compared within the different classes. The pros are always a plus but the cons will always be handled differently based on the user's experience, design standards, and of course, their patience which is significantly overlooked by many who get into 3d printing. Thank you for the information and thorough review!
Bed slinger is kind of a slang term. The official term is artisan. Bed slinger is just because the bed moves.
This was a great video and I like the categories and breakdown. I also like how you did the text boxes with the info for each printer.
This helps a lot. Getting my first one tomorrow because of your videos and suit.
I got a Neptune 3 Max as my first printer a month ago because of your review. I am extremely happy with it. I've printed a bunch of big stuff that I definitely couldn't print on other smaller printers. Keep up the great work Frank!
Oh man this is so awesome, I really would like to get one of those too but I don´t have the space for this big of a machine =(
I am using a PLATSA cabinet system for my Office so the printer has to fit in it. Which creates an enclosure , storage space and silences the machine also can be vented outside easily and is cheap.
I got it for 295 Euro
Netune4 plus
Neptune 4 buddy.....its smaller and awesome@@sierraecho884
Bro I want to start 3d printing business in small level..I have 60000 rs.which machine is suitable for it
ive been watching you vids for 2 years now and your one of the most helpful youtubers out there!
I love your videos you tell me EXACTLY what I need to know. Right to the point very helpful info and for sure helped me make a decision on my next printer.
I just got my P1S a few days ago from the Black Friday sale based off this video! It’s absolutely amazing!! Thanks for putting this video together!!
Another great video! Was debating on the P1S and the K1 for my first printer and went with the P1S. Super stoked and nervous at the same time haha. Keep up the great work!
Bambu P1S rocks my socks with AMS, had zero issues and prints beautifully.
I am thinking of getting a k1 max next for speed, build size and quality, I have a NP3 + which has been awesome as well.
Glad to see that my purchase of an Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus was not only a good choice (before I saw this video using the Black Friday sale price), but is also backed by Mr. Built in the video. Fingers crossed on picking up a new hobby that can also help fuel others that have fallen to the backseat. Thank you Mr. Frank for making this feel achievable and easy to start.
Me too
I went with Prusa MK4 with enclosure for my first printer.. I absolutely love this thing..
thanks for always being very transparent frank always help me when looking or in debate on a printer keep up the amazing work!!!!!
Fantastic Video!! Thank you! So informative, literally the best review video i have come across! very knowledgeable and your very well spoken.
Thanks for the recommendations Frank! Probably gonna get the Neptune 3!
I love my V400. I haven't had any leveling issues and it prints very fast, very reliably.
I GREATLY appreciate you making these types of videos. I started off 3 years ago with a Prusa MK3 and could not be happier. My next one will be a Ratrig 500x500x500 because I do not only want to make masks, but I want to print droids too. Fun hobby with so much to it and so much to do.
Thank you for this video, keep up the amazing work
Awesome bro! Thanks for giving this video🎉
I've been waiting for the 2023 video ❤ just in time
I bought a K1 max a few weeks ago, finally made the decision thanks to your previous video with it, and I love it, hadn’t have any issues, amazing experience
Have you had to mess with it much? Now that it's been a few months as far as repairs or calibrating?
The P1P is incredible, especially with the Black Friday sale right now
I just bought one based on this video and your comment. Looking forward to it!
I want to buy a P1S, but it has one problem in my opinion and it is the slow CPU, which feels like it will limit the possibility of future upgrades, which makes me think about whether to wait for gen2 instead, I can't imagine that BL will continue with such a technically stripped-down P series!?
I feel like it´s too expensive. It´s a great machine for sure for here it costs 660€ I can 2x Neptunes 4 for the same price. IDK if it´s worth the money to be honest. On the other hand compared to other machines with that speed, build volume, design, hassle free fuctionality etc. it ios really cheap.
They had a sale? Do you remember the sale price? I checked their site a few times a week from October through December and never saw a sale. That was all I was waiting for. I'll probably just get a Neptune 4 Pro instead.
@@84Eraursls ah shoot. I don’t think it was crazy but maybe $50 or so off.
thank you Frank, I was about to make a Black Friday purchase and was hoping you would post a video like this!
Yes! I’ve been waiting for a while for this video!
Always fun to watch a Frank video and this one is amazing! Great info for those looking to enter the hobby! Nice work my friend!
Thanks for posting, Frank. I was looking for a discussion like this as I decide that to buy as my 3rd printer (2nd in the shop after selling my N3 Max), and since I'm really looking for big build volume, I think I'm going to pick up another N3 Max since I can get it for cheaper than what I sold mine for. Maybe a K1 Max will be in the cards down the road. Keep up the good work!
I was looking for a video like this from you just 3 days ago!! I really wanted to order a printer and wanted to see your recommendations for this year. This wasn't up yet so I looked at other recommendation videos from you and found that the neptune 3 was your recommendation for beginners. Glad you haven't changed regarding that recommendation, cause I ordered it from their BF sale before seeing this😅 Cant wait to start the hobby!
thank you for telling us the prices right off the bat other TH-camrs wait until the end of the video to tell that crucial part of the buying r&d
Just discovered you channel as I was looking up info on the KR Max.
First time seeing your vids either way and took a quick look at a few of them. Very nice clean up work! Just dropped the sub and look forward to seeing more of your work to come. 🎉
I am glad I watched this video and seeing all the firmware updates for the K1 max, I just ordered the K1 max as my second printer
Im getting the p1s to Christmas and this video made me feel even more sure that i want it! Thanks!
The X1 Carbon is probably where I'd want to be. I really want to get into printing with Nylon and Carbon Fiber for car/motorcycle parts.
I got a M5C for like 300 on an insane sale. It has been printing everything I can throw at it. Been loving it so far.
I have the Creality CR-M4, and it just a great printer, I agree that the Neptune 4 Max is cheaper, but the build quality is just great, also I equipped my printer with the Creality Sonic pad which have klipper. And wow, the print just come out fantastic.
After watching most of your vids i decided i want to get into 3d printing and bought myself an elegoo neptune 4 plus 2 days ago can't wait to start printing cosplays and other stuff!
I just bought the P1P and im super hyped to get it! The black Friday deal is pretty great on it too especially if you want the AMS system
i just got my first printer like 2 weeks ago. i got the elegoo Neptune 4 max. i love it
bought my elegoo 4 plus from your review thanks a lot the machine is a beast with fancy features and now hardened nozzles are out there for it.
Love this review and think I’ve narrowed down my choices of first printer down to the P1S with AMS or the k1 max. If you had to pick one which would you get? I like the idea of the multi-colours of the P1S, but is it needed?
Another great video man. Definitely agree on the P1P being the best option for most people who can afford it and the Neptune 4 Max is so close to being great but just missed the mark.
Ive made my first helmet because of you man keep it up i might make a suitif i get a 3d printer all because of you. You brought me into 3d printing and i hope that you see this
Great video Frank! I appreciate your breakdown and comparison of the different categories. When you talked about the issues with high speed Bed slingers you called out the 4 not being worth it because of the issues inherent in a bed slinger at high speeds. Would you say the same about the Neptune 4 plus when talking about high speed? Or is the size reasonable enough that you can do the larger high speed prints without the issues the Max series has.
It was down to the P1S Combo and K1 Max. I decided on the P1S because it works out of the box, better than the K1 Max. K1 Max still needs a bit of fine tuning to get to print well.
Awesome video man! I just pulled the trigger on the P1S as my first 3d printer after seeing their black friday sale! Super excited to get into printing some star wars props!
Same here!
Ordered the Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus after doing research. Just came in today, can’t wait to start printing with it. Thank you for all your videos and help with finding the perfect printer for me!
Ordering mine today, let me know how the assembly goes!
@@ashouaxiong1404great choice of printer! Shipping was super fast for me, so hopefully it’s the same for you. It was a very easy assembly. Just have to make sure to loosen the bars on the back before tightening. Took awhile for me to get them on as I figured they’d be set to the right length and didn’t adjust right away. Aside from that, everything is straightforward. Watched the assembly video they have on the Elegoo TH-cam for reference as well which is helpful to have when assembling.
@@mikereg303 thanks! Mine is coming tomorrow, and will definitely look at that assembly video!
Awesome vid thanks Frank! Excited to see what you do with the Enoch helmet 😁
The qidi printers are a different beast alltogether. I have the xplus 3 in my hobbyspace and the heated chamber for that pricepont is just amazing. My theory is, that the outer shell is for trapping the heat. Thats why you need to open the front and top to print pla and pettg
You videos have inspired me to get my own 3D printer a few months ago and I got the ender 3 max. I was worried initially since when I did research I couldn't find anything on the printer and so far I love it. Why has nobody talked about it?
Ive been printing for about 3-4 years now and i had a ender 3 for the majority of that time. It served my quite well until recently when it just stoped printing and i couldnt for the life of figure out why. I seen that the elegoo neptune 3 plus was a good step up at a higher quality and bigger printer. The only down side is that for some reason im getting something that looks like z wobble or layer shifts, its probably just me but i cant seem to get it to print normally but otherwise im sure its an amazing printer.
Recently bought my first ever 3d printer! I bought an Anycubic Kobra 2 max and it is incredible. Huge build volume and the quality is great. Fast too. I’ve been printing Star Wars helmets and I have 0 complaints.
As always great video man think my third printer will be the k1 max 👍🏼👍🏼 thank you
I actually bought the Neptune 3 Max earlier in the year because of your recommendation. I love the printer, but it does layer shift a bit the higher it goes.
Im seriously looking at the K1 Max, I make primarily cosplay stuff and I love the speed/size of it... I love hearing that you approve of this printer! I wish Bambulabs made a bigger printer cause I also like the AMS system but I also dont need it.
Great video. I think I'm going to go for the X1Carbon. As for large scale printers you mentioned bed slingers being slower, how do you feel about the ender 5 plus? Does that still hold up in that category? Thanks again!!
This video and others like it on your channel are huge for me as I get into the hobby. I started on a Creality Ender 3 and that money would have been better spent on any one of these!
Man I feel like I have watch SO many of these videos the past few days 😂 - Looking for a solid 3d Printer for my 11 and 9 yr olds mostly that we will probably use as well.
Started looking at the Toybox for ease of use but just can’t spend that much more just for an app
I am a pretty much complete beginner but using the elegoo Neptune 3 max is so easy. It didn’t take long to set up and the auto leveling was so easy. If you’re a beginner with some knowledge on printers GET IT!!!! How did I live without this thing?
Thanks for the info, I might get a 3d printer soon
Just got the P1s AMS combo it arrived a day b4 bambulabs Black Friday sale 😂 I’m not complaining it’s worth every penny! 😊
Woot woot!!! Your back!!
I ordered the Bambu A1 Mini and I’m so excited for it to show up!!! My first printer! :)
Did you receive it yet!!? i ordered the Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro still havent got it! it's been 3 weeks
@@Skat3.1620 I have not but it should be coming on Thursday it looks like!
@@nostalgiaglassesretroreviews that’s good news!! On the Elegoo shop app just says order placed!
I have been wanting to get into the 3D printing world for a while, and after watching a few of your videos I am ready to buy my first printer. This video has helped a lot; however, I still have a few questions to help me decide. A little background: I took three years of 3D modeling classes in school, and my wife and I work very well with our hands (she is a ceramic artist, and I grew up working for my dad in the construction industry). We plan on making molds, stamps, and tools to help her create the art she wants, and I plan on printing things to make my life easier, figurines, some cosplay... a little bit of everything, really.
I'm trying to decide between the value of being able to print multiple colors, having a larger footprint, and good detail quality. My budget is between $800 and $1000. The printers I am looking at are Bamboo P1S with AMS, Bamboo X1Carbon no AMS, or Creality K1 Max. Is it worth printing in multiple colors when we can paint the models when we want to? Which one would you recommend?
Got the neptune 4 plus and since ordering I've seen several "problem" videos. Hoping for the best since all the sales are over! 🤞🏻
hey frank, you made the right video for me, thankyou, i will like this one

Great video coming these printers.
Awesome video. I need this since I'm trying to buy something this week. Interested to find out more about the FLSUN S1 when you can.
Thanks for the comparison!
Do any of the non-enclosed printers have a way of dealing with fumes, or is that a reason to only get enclosed printers if we are concerned about that?
Thank you this helped so much! Do you reccomend the pursa mk4 over the bambu lab x1 carbon? Or the other way around? I'm new to printing, I just started with 3d resin and want go do filament as well. I don't want to have to upgrade it with a new printer every 6 months etc. I'd like something I can print cosplay peices on but is fast, easy to use and awesome. Ty so much!
Frank, you are probably the most insightful and helpful person on the internet for this topic!
One question, all I could afford at the moment is the Neptune 4 pro.. could not get the plus. Would this be something you would also recommend for large scale 3D printing capabilities?
That printer no. It's not suited for HUGE stuff. you'll drive yourself mad with slicing and cutting
Just trying to find a printer this Helped😊
I was going to get a FlashForge 5M Pro, but changed my mind and went for the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon in the end. The 5M pro looks good, but the lack of an app was a let down for me. Bambu Lab printers are definitely good for a lazy amateur like me ;) I think if FlashForge released an app, they’d probably sell a shed load more. I love my X1 Carbon, but I rarely use the lidar, as I prefer the textured plate
Thats awsome I just got a p1s with an AMS. I had a ender 5 pro and a ender 3 s1.
Hey, hope you are doing well.
I Loved watching your Tutorial videos on TH-cam.
Dear Jessy, as a beginner in the 3d printing world, i wanted to consult with you regarding which printer i should buy.
I've done some research and seen many models out there.
My main concerns regarding which printer to buy were:
1.Precision of the 3d model.
2.Printing Multicolor 4+
3.Top Layer quality of the print.
4. can print big models
So the best printer i found to match my requirements was the: Bambulab X1C, since it can prints multi color.
i also noticed that there's something called Pallet 3 pro, but i didn't like the quality that was printed with this tool.
So I'm here to ask you if you can recommend a printer that fits my requirements? my budget is up to 1,500$ for the printer.
The main purpose of the printer is to print colorful 3d action figure models, that's why i need the precision.
Also printing big models like masks or big Pokémon dolls and try to retail them after in my local shop.
I Would really appreciate your help and advice!
Great video, BTW. I am new to 3d printers and have a question.
Do ya take a picture and upload it to their software, and it turns it into a 3d format?
Do the printers come with 3d software to use?
I am a little confused on how to make stuff into 3d.
Thanks again.
What would you recommend for someone wanting to print things that are lets say 9"L/H x 3"W x 5"H/L ( Length or Height depending if it's rotated I guess it could go either way if it was standing or laying down to make fit during drawing phase if that makes sense ) on a budget to get into 3D printing ?
I was going to get a Elegoo and as I'm watching the videos about it I'm bombed with videos from Bambu. I ended up with a X1.
Just got bambu labs p1s on sale and I’m excited!
I have had great success with the AnkerMake 5M with STLs form other sites. Over 1000 hours of printing, no clogs or issues. I have used PLA/PETG from Sunlu and Hatchbox and never had any issues. Very suprised you had so much trouble with it.
Thanks for the video. Ugh, now I'm unsure which one to pick- Elagoo Neptune 4 or 4 Pro for big print, Prusa K4, or Creality K1 Max.... If you have to pick ONE, which one would be? 😅
I currently have a Sovol SV03, which is 360x370x400. It cannot go super fast as a bed slinger, but I love the size. I wish the K1 max was 350x350x400. I need that size as a minimum to upgrade to a high speed printer. There aren't any core xy printers in that size, unless I go with a super expensive Voron kit. I'm not ready to drop over a grand for a 3d printer.
damn Finally found someone make this topics, thanks ❤
I’m thinking of purchasing the Elegoo Neptune 4 max. I’m really liking the specs on it
Love the video man. where did you get the Iron man helmet I love the motorization hinges
I just bought my K! for $350.00 at Micro Center. Very happy with it.
For the AnkerMake M5 and M5C, AnkerMake recently ditched their garbage cura based slicer for a Prusa based slicer (called AnkerMake Studio), and that has made a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! They also just came out with an all metal hotend for the AnkerMake M5, and that also helps. If you haven’t checked out either of those, I think it’ll really change your opinion on the AnkerMake M5.
I own a P1S and a Prusa MK4. The P1S is faster than the Prusa, and really great for prototyping. But in terms of quality and precision, the MK4 is king. The Prusa Nextruder is a game changer, plus it is all open source, and the Prusa support is good. If you are just printing toys, the BBL P1 series is a good option.
Bro I want to print toys and. Home decoration items and gift.
Which 3d printer is suitable for it
Pushing the bed back and forwards on the Neptune 3 max was enough to briefly power on the screen
I love that every youtuber mentioning the k1 printers also uses the "Uncle Jessy incident" as a reference point 😂
I'm so glad i was watching this live stream live when it happened ❤
Great video, Frank! Hope to meet you in a convention one day
I want to know what this is all about!
@xellostube look for "uncle jessy k1 max unboxing livestream"
DUDE!!!!... Check out the FLSUN T1 ...it's 1000mm/s !!!!!! only 500 bucks ..launched today..coming in Febuary!.. and there's even a FASTER one on their site!!! OMG!
Also... This channel is my favorite printer channel...awesome presentation, and you get to the point!. Keep up the great work.
Out of these which one should I get ?
• Elegoo Neptune 4 plus
• Creality K1
• Ender 5 S1
• Anycubic Kobra Plus
• Bambu A1
Or any other printer thats in the £300 price range
not sure about the ankermake M5 problems, ive got several of em and theyve been more reliable than any of my other printers. Im not sure what slicer you have been using but they stopped developing their cura based slicer in favor of their prusa based slicer which is miles better. On top of that you dont have to use their slicer at all ive got friends using orca slicer for it lol. I love to print tpu on the M5 and it just does it no questions asked, no adhesives nothing special needed. I will say their AI was a misfire from the start but having the camera there at all is super handy since i can just open it up and look at prints whenever i want from wherever i want. Makes "printing as a business" a bit nicer, find myself not having to waste material due to failed prints that i didnt catch.
I've been looking into getting a bigger printer. Would you recommend the ender 5 plus vs the elegoo neptune 4 max?
So I’m looking for my first printer. Not wanting the resins. Not concerned with budget really. Wanting mainly cosplay use. Time is fine I just want quality. I gather the prusa mk4 is the one I need to look at.
Debating the metal filaments for metal prints too so would the prusa handle that?
Apps for designing prints would be helpful too. But printer is the start.
@FranklyBuilt. So Frank on the Neptune printers, if you were going to get the Neptune plus model would you get the 3 or the 4? The problems you mentioned with the 4 max probably going to be the same as the 4 plus? Thanks
What filament would you recommend for getting started in the hobby. I want to know what you would recommend to a person getting into the hobby. Thank you and have a great day.
I’m new to 3d printing specially with FDM I like the anchor make m5c but deal with all the same issues you explained here
Any review on the anchor make m5 speedy?
