Kejsi I love your perspective on trying to boost morale and not fall for imposter syndrome. I'm already feeling it and I haven't even started 1L! Please do a part 2
Just saw this video and was wondering since now all of you would now be in your final year or even done law school, what advice would you give incoming 1L law students for them to have an edge for summer job recruitments.
I am a first year law student from India. I love your videos and I can relate to this video from the very start to end. Enjoyed all of those intellectual answers thoroughly!!!!!
I had a question regarding admissions with ryerson law does it look at your best 20 credits (ex. 5 credits from yr 1, 10 credits from yr 2, 5 credits from y3 &4 etc…) or does it look at the top 2 years regarding your GPA. Thank you in advance.
For someone who did aerospace engineering for undergrad and is soon going to Osgoode, this video makes it sound like I'm about to land on an alien planet
we all did law and business in our undergrad and law school still felt like a whole new world when we started lol! but you get used to it after the first semester. congrats on Osgoode!
I've heard people who came from the sciences say that law school is a completely different challenge for them. From what they've said, the biggest challenge is writing. They weren't used to so much essay writing and reading, so they highly recommend taking some writing workshops or courses to help prepare. Congrats on your acceptance and best of luck to you!
The opportunities don’t really differ from school to school. The big law firms participate in a formal, regulated recruit that is available to all law schools. Most of these “big law” firms are in downtown Toronto and are known as “Bay Street firms”
I chose the Law & Bus major at Ryerson because that was what I really wanted to do at the time - I knew I was excited by the courses and I enjoyed the program. You don't need to take anything law-related in your undergrad for law school. I definitely don't think it made a significant difference in terms of giving me an advantage, I still had a lot to learn in law school. I would suggest you take whatever interests you! That's what matters most so that you can do well.
Awesome video, was cool to see the different perspectives and experiences!
As a student considering law school after undergrad, this was quite helpful!
So glad this was helpful for you, Moiz. Best of luck to you on your law school journey!

I'm doing my masters of economics at Queen's University, are there any areas in law where having a masters of economics can be advantageous?

Hows your 2nd year going?
What are the big law job prospects from each of your schools?

Would you say going to Ryerson and taking the Law and Buisness major is a good route to take before going into law school?
