The last thing I would want to see for Terastallize is some complex ban that only allows STAB Tera types, or only allows for 1 'mon on a team with the ability to Tera. It would feel like an awkward approach, like that "No Drizzle + Swift Swim on the same team" back in Gen 5 instead of just banning the abilities outright in the first place. Teams would still have an ability to Tera one 'mon and run away with the game on the spot, even if the meta solidified to a known collection of threats. Just because you have an idea of what's coming after Team Preview doesn't mean you can stop it every time. Now, you could argue for a team preview system that shows the opponent's Tera types on game start, but that knowledge isn't possible to gleam on cartridge play, and Showdown is nothing if not an accurate game simulator (at least outside of OM). This would feel about as wonky as making Tera cost a Showdown-only held item and have it become Mega-Evolution 2: Electric Boogaloo. I'd say go full-send one way or the other. Either rip the band-aid off and ban the mechanic from the generation for stability's sake, or leave it exactly as is and promote teambuilding in a state of permanent k-level thinking hyper-flux. I prefer the latter; It's more fun to me. Snazzy outro, Ausma. I like it. (As a side thought, has anyone tried to run Life Orb Naive SpA 'Chain Chomp' with EQ/Draco/Fire Blast/Spikes? Seems like a classic that could make a rebound.)
Let's goooooo more ausma content woooooo
