For those wondering wether they are really stallions: they are! Obviously I'm not gonna film their privates. Next time I'll film their foals. The dun stallion passes on his dorsal stripe to his offspring. If you're still not convinced, hey no problem. I just wanted to post a nice video of horses living in this beautiful environment. :)
Horses are the most beautiful when they are allowed to be horses. No whips, chains, bits, or spurs, just two horses having a mild argument in a pasture. :)
I get what you are trying to say. On the other hand... without work for humans as a beast of burden those two stallions in the clip, their entire breed and all other horses apart from Prschewalski wild horses would have never existed. Today they would just be another wild animal species like zebras and humans most certainly would still live in caves. Don't underestimate the meaning of the working horse for the development of mankind, they, together with donkeys and cattle, brought us further than anything else. Roads, trade, transport, farming, building, defence (in war), non of this would have been the way it went without horses patiently working for us! And today they are loosing this ancient purpose. So breeds go extinct. If we don't find a new purpose (we already have, sport, pleasure riding and yes, also food) we will no longer have domestic horses in a couple of decades. They are too expensive in keeping to just have them grase the land, they are not pets like cats and birds. Be sensible.
Also their ears are seldom pinned back and their tails aren't lashing. Those are both signs of serious agitation and I'm not seeing them here. These big guys are just kidding around :)
I don't think they are testing each other, looks more like play, look at the biginning how the roan stallion comes in: no prancing, no ear pinning, not showing dominance at all. The other stallion is neither showing strenght, just curiousness.
Please make some more videos of these wonderful animals Many many people enjoy watching them and we could for hours! Most of us never get to see them. Thank you so much! By the way, we live in Florida, USA.
I'm going back there this summer so maybe I can upload new footage in August I think. I live in the Netherlands and these horses are in France. Fingers crossed I can find them again ;)
thats not a palomino. Its a bay dun with silver which is why he got this light mane. palominos don't have stripes or a dorsal stripe. also palominos are chestnut based with the cream genetic. this horse is bay based which you can see because his legs are way darker then the rest of the body.
Sadly horses are livestock just like cattle, pigs and sheep, I have no problem with the horse meat industry as long as the animals are treated well and humanely, I myself would probably never eat it
Horse 1: I love you, man. I love you I love you I love you I love you I love- Horse 2: Alright, that’s enough, I get it. Horse 1: No! It’s not enough, let me finish! Horse 2: No! Horse 1: Meanie. Horse 2: You’re a meanie.
Roneboontje! Holy...people are whining and sniveling about this vidoe? OMG it's gorgeous and very good of you to spend the time on the upload. Huuuuh? They are so obviously stallions. When people are whiners it is not because the horses are stallions or not stallions...or because the video is not well presented...it is solely because they are whiners and snivelers and out to join a whiners and snivelers club. Gorgeous stallions! Thank you for sharing!
Thumbnail looks like it's taken by some serious photographer! I even tought it's not these two stallion, but then I looked back! Amazing view of nature, and beautiful horses!
That dun is one of the most impressive horses I've ever seen! His beautiful long mane and the stripes on his legs..and the little bit of feather around the hooves. Just beautiful!
“Stallions are wild and dangerous”, “don’t go near stallions”... this woman walks up just out in the field and pats her horse. Stallions are fine. People are the problem
The people who told you that either didn't know what they were talking about, or they meant wild stallions. Wild stallions are dangerous not domesticated ones.
Mac Shack that's not entirely true either. Stallions, whether wild or domesticated, are still stallions. They act like stallions, and they have stallion instincts. Domesticated just means they are able to be handled by humans. There are plenty of stallions who are domesticated and still considered very dangerous. In the wild, Stallions who do not have herds will form bachelor bands with other stallions for company. They form friendships with other Stallions, it seems like these two are friends. It says they each have their own herds and you can clearly see that this is not a serious fight.
The stallions in those bachelor bands are far less aggressive than the harem stallions. Domesticated stallions are usually kept away from mares in order to keep them from acting like a harem stallion and more like a stallion from a bachelor band. So domesticated stallions are not as dangerous as wild ones. Also I never said that they were fighting, they're clearly not.
Just learned about this behavior from Steve Pirellis videos. Horses will nip eachother to show dominance, whichever backs away first loses. These guys were just sorting it out. Awesome.
He is fabulous! I love the palomino, and his zebra stripes on his knees. Of course the roan (dunn?) is lovely too...but that golden boy looks like the king of the mountain!
Thanks for posting WOW what magnificent stallions. I am blessed up here in NEPA our neighbor has Belgiums and Clydesdales and also a few mini horses. To see the big guys be so gentle with the mini horses just amazing....
Rick Gore has many many followers, he is an excellent horseman, has so much genuine love and concern for horses. He is a good person. He has his own way of teaching people how to learn a horse's language and to bond with your horse. On his channel he is kind to all creatures. He cares, he teaches, we learn from the best. If some people can't handle that, he doesn't want them on his channel. He is matter of fact and says it like it is, some cannot handle that so they put him down but he and his followers know they are on the right path. He doesn't waste time trying to convince anyone of anything. He also does his videos for free. Why? because he wants horses to have a better life than most of them have.
I absolutely loved your video. You caught their character so clearly. We don't see many horses allowed to roam free here unless their fenced in. I loved watching them play and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Thank you for sharing it with us. I am not a professional painter by any means just a hobbyist learning to paint, but my daughter would love a painting of these two horses playing together. Do I have your permission to paint them. I will be happy to post and share with you IF the painting is successful that is. Again, either way thank you for sharing
They seem to like each other. Although the ending had me cracking up with the stallion off in the distance looking like he's saying, till we meet again. muahahaha
Thank you kindly for uploading a video with 2 very handsome stallions. I hope this doesn't get taken wrong but I think its incredibly wrong to purchase a horse or shall I say offspring to kill them because people want to eat them.... Beautiful video! Thank you so much. I could have watched them for hours.
Lovely! I’m having my two 5 and 6 year old Arabian stallions together also. Works out just fine.
Roneboontje why did u film him pooping?
Because he was stud piling and I wanted to capture stud behavior. It's like marking his territory.
Roneboontje crazy! I had no idea that was a thing! Thanks :)
These stallions are obviously friends and are just having a conversation. Beautiful horses. Beautiful place for them to live.
Horses are the most beautiful when they are allowed to be horses. No whips, chains, bits, or spurs, just two horses having a mild argument in a pasture. :)
Best word I've heard all week.
Um actually the two stallions are fighting over the mares ya know
Rain Mare if they were the fighting would be that-actual fighting. These two are pretty much playing. As they put it a “mild argument”
Till they go to slaughter at least
I get what you are trying to say. They’re mostly just playing. If they were the least bit serious theywould have done morethan just drive line cutting and stud piles.

Man, that dun is enormous! I mean, you can tell the roan is no slouch, either, but the dun just dwarfs him. I love big horses
These horses really resemble the French cave paintings. That blondie is really stunning!

Says in the description what happens to their foals
109367 why would the do that? I guess their to lazy to breed more cows!
Nah, horse meat is as common as beef in some countries, seems weird to you and I but in some countries it is normal and even a delicacy.
Sadly horses are livestock just like cattle, pigs and sheep, I have no problem with the horse meat industry as long as the animals are treated well and humanely, I myself would probably never eat it
I loved how you wrote your description. It sounded so beautiful. Until the end......... hit the floor like a safe.

TheLaughingLlama 64 the horses were just playing. I'm not even sure if they are stallions or gelded
Exactly. There's nothing wrong with stallions if you consistently set ground rules with the horse so he understands you are boss.
The people who told you that either didn't know what they were talking about, or they meant wild stallions. Wild stallions are dangerous not domesticated ones.

I have to ask the marking on the palomino legs, is there a name for that? They looked almost striped. They all are well mannered horses.
