It is November 10, 2018 (when we made this video) and the pasture is getting too wet for the horses.
First, the yearlings and two-year-old mares can go to the stable.
Thereafter, the colts are allowed to go inside.

Beautiful video. I once saw horses being brought up to a high Sierra pack station in California for th summer from their winter ranch in the foothills in a similar manner along a one lane road. Drivers all politely pull over and wait and horses stay together and behave. Impressive.

I was so blown away by this video because it shows the
“Natural gait” of these incredible horses. I am from America and we have what we call a “Tennessee Walking Horse”. I have been privileged enough to see this horse and their beautiful gate, but in America, these horses are trained using shoes that are far to large for the horse that makes their natural gate extreme and unnatural. This practice is animal abuse. When I saw this video with the natural gate of this beautiful horse, it brought tears to my eyes.
I just started following your channel, I came in when Queen Uniek adopted Rising Star and I have not missed a video since.
I am so grateful for the English cc, your translation is beautiful. I have hearing problems and am not able to pronounce the name “Uniek” properly. If you would ever want to highlight that someday, I would be grateful.

Feedback from a Dutchman about the pronouciation of "Uniek": it is pronounced like the English "Unique", except the "U" is pronounced like the "U" in "Uber", the ride hailing service. In other words, a Dutchman would phonetically spell the English word "Unique" as "Juniek", which sounds in English like "Yunique". Then leave out the "Y" from the latter, and you get the Dutch pronouciation of "Uniek".
Now, I do not know how "Uniek" should be pronounced in Frisian language, but I suspect it is somewhat similar. Can any Frisian people help me out?

So beautiful to see these horses! I had two Friesians as coach horses. They lived to a high age of 35 and 37. We loved them to bits but they also did a lot of nonsense. Thank you for your video, it brought lots of my memory back of my horses here in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Good on to the drivers who pulled over to give horses right of way
I was thinking the same. People who live there are probably used to this and so know what to do. Not sure if people would do the same where I live as they seem very intolerant towards horse riders
Here in New York on this side of the pond horses have right of way but many drivers do not know the law.

I am not a horse lover and know next to nothing about horses but even I can see that these are absolutely magnificent animals. It is clear to anyone, by their demeanor, that they are cared for with love and they are used to being admired.

Yvonne and Uniek moving the mares and young horses from pasture to stable form my earliest memories of Friesian Horses. It was all so grand, so sweeping, so perfectly executed. Uniek and Yvonne, born leaders.
So clever and very cool the young ones follow and people pull over and show respect....So beautiful!!
I love how the colts see the cars, think about it for a sec, and then give the cars a wide berth. Wonderful that they already have that sense built in.

I met a young woman, with TWO Friesians. She was walking them calmly as if she was walking her dogs.
Obviously, I got from my bike and told her how beautiful her horses were. She joyfully answered: "Thank you".

I'm 40 yrs old,and have been obsessed with horses from day one(my mom said she was shocked it wasn't my first word,lol) I'm on hiatus from horseback riding because of sciatica,but videos like yours help me keep connected,and keep dreaming. I can see your horses know you're the lead mare..they follow you like love struck pups,lol. I've always loved Fresians,and not just for their outward beauty. The bonds they build with their humans are life long,and I'm so happy to see that you have so much of a presence that you don't have to use force to get them where they need to be. I'm in awe of that kind of leadership. I know I am nowhere near ready to own my own horse,but videos like yours let me live vicariously,and I thank you!

I have never heard or seen Friesian horses before I stumbled onto your video about two years ago. You know over here in the US its mostly thoroughbreds or quarters. I worked for an equine employment agency and we placed everything from grooms to farm managers and I knew some people who rode dressage but in Ocala Fl it was mostly horse racing that I worked with. I have to admit these horses are so amazing I have never seen a gate on a horse like this and its natural they all have it. Those 3 colts just thinking they own the road and just having fun i really enjoyed watching. I never got that feeling with thoroughbreds or quarters. It also has to do with the people on the farm too could tell from the first video that these were great owners who loved the horses more than the business. Thank you so much it's been a depressing year and these videos keep my spirits lifted seriously they have for many I'm sure.

I really like what you are doing with these videos. I find it extremely interesting knowing more about how horses think and react to different situations. I always loved horses from a distance but never understood the species well. So I do have a fear of them. I am a animal lover. Mainly because I never grew up around them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful horses lives with us. I like how well they are treated and live on such beautiful land as you have for them.

Good to see free horses and it's a beautiful way to move them! All those people who has to have a chain and bit on just to go from one place to another. This is refreshing to watch!
99% of people lead their horses in a plain headcollar and leadrope... nothing in the horses mouth and no chains... in my 8 years aroind horses I've never led a horse to and from a field with a bit or chain
some horses aren’t good enough to do this. they’re either spooky or just plain misbehaved.
rather some people are bad horse trainers; the horse is just a horse and bad people create "bad" horses.
I love how respectful the cars are to let the horses go by. Beautiful to watch.

good job! those young clever boys wanted to take off but stopped short, pausing only to check out the mare manure which probably got them even more interested in moving on. we retired our standardbred stable a few years ago now but I do miss those sweet trotters and sassy pacers.
Yvonne never falters or speeds up or down when they get crazy on her. She's done this so many times, nothing must fluster her!

Yes, specially the lead horse has a very nice and hamonic motion.

@@honeybuzzard2843 Yes, the Friesian is a strong and powerful breed, but known for its high-stepping action. Thought to be a breed which knights used in battle, tournaments etc. Pure black, no white markings, usually left with a flowing mane and tail, plus feather on the legs - and expensive to buy!

👋👍 All of the mares get used to cars when they are pulling the cart. Or most of them, anyway. lol Rein gave them all a great start, to eventually being sold to their own forever homes. Uniek was the best. 💖☺
