Good topic. The black community is riddled with mental health issues and most of us don't want to deal with it. A lot of us live in war zones but expect our minds not to crack. As black people we all know at least one relative who is literally insane but the family ignores it. I couldn't even tell my family I was in therapy because they said "therapy is for crazy people". This attitude is slowly changing but not quick enough.
Yeah, BUT being vulnerable can hurt you because people in the workplace will take that information to bully, ostracize, and isolate you strategically urging you to quit instead of offering up any support.
People at work arent our friends nor do they look at our issues the same as theirs. Ive seen them offer prayers groups to women who didnt look like me. they tried to fire me 😂😂😂 I'll speak to a therapist
It could also be ADHD. Stress, Depression, Insomnia, Procastination/laziness, lack of focus/concentration and overeating /overspending lack of impulse control all symtoms of ADHD which is underdiagnosed in women especially women of color.
Please hang in there. I beg you. I know it's hard. I am a black woman who struggles everyday with this feeling no matter what I do or accomplish. Please seek online therapy if you need someone of your hue. Just please dont give up on yourself. If you're a Christian also try reading your bible (I find Psalms chapter 34 very helpful)and praying. ❤❤❤❤😔
Perhaps they should be doing more. I'm black and my depression has always manifested as laziness/apathy. At times gluttony. Nothing wrong with being honest with yourself that you're not doing enough. Not addressing it will lead to more negative behaviors and depression.
A lot of us are doing things. The depression literally makes it hard to do things. You can't do sh*t because you're depressed. And you're depressed because you can't do much.
When are we as be going to collectively as bw start our own country? The US is literally killing us. It has been centuries and we are worse off. We need to get out of this place, heal, and renew. We have enough education and expertise among us to build an infrastructure and offfer necessary services.
Ive wondered about this. for the past year just about every encounter with a black woman has been absolute psychosis. Every single issue is devolved into skin color, rather than any hope of mutual respect if not respect simple human tolerance. The growing media support of anti-white rhetoric is disgusting as well.
All people arent treated the same. Ive had the same problems in corporate america as my peers. They were offered support groups and prayers, gifts. I was offered a leave of absence 😂😂 there is a difference. I could never get away with what my white counterparts get away with
So if the symptoms look like this specifically for black women, what does it look like women of other races? What are the symptoms of depression for Native American women? Caucasian women? Chinese women? Thai women? Russian women? Scottish women? Japanese women? Egyptian women? Nigerian women?
Ask those women. Look at videos with women of those demographics. This comment sounds dense. This clearly is for the Black women that this is affecting. It’s giving all lives matter

Sir cut the games. Black woman are choosing singleness because being with black men in more stressful and extra labor. Being responsible for managing a home, birthing/nursing/and raising children, taking care of a husband, and working a full-time job outside of the home because the black man can’t provide is living both roles. Not to mention the unhealthy relationship norms. If more black men would welcome themselves to a man’s life they’d be able to provide, protect their families, head a household and take pressure off their wives. @mericanmodi8479 There are married couples popping out babies they can’t afford. Most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. So, living above your means seems to be a part of American culture. Why are men impregnating women they don’t want to commit to, and making children they will abandon? It takes two. So don’t act like men aren’t just as responsible.
Do explain.. You say that Black Women experiences are different than other cultures.. So their attitude in society is different.. But when other cultures single you out as different; it's offensive.. Pick a Struggle!
They’re going to do that anyway.. yes bw die more during childbirth. They die more by their partners every 3 1/2 hours. And so on. If u don’t want this to be the case , then protest about it. Oh u won’t cause u don’t care but u hate the fact bw different experiences are acknowledged because then it singles out non bw and what they go through. It’s a competition with u mfs.
The racism and lack of empathy in these comments is not surprising. Black women, take note and only worry about yourselves 💯
Since when are ABW empathetic to anyone outside of themselves? You reap what you sow.

you continue to prove our point. this is why bw have depression, ppl like you keep causing it.
Yeah, they usually pick fights at airports and fast food restaurants. Sometimes right in the drive-thru. But there's no evidence of that, right??🙄
