      That's just a persona, Rex Sinquefield an American billionaire paid Kasparov 6 digits so he could help Hikaru prepped and hopefully achieve world championship. kasparov was pissed that Hikaru was going to poker or bridge championship rather than prepping for an upcoming important event, which will risk Garry's reputation as coach. The same week Hikaru pretty much told in open interview that he has nothing to learn from Kasparov except how to do opening preparation. There is no lost love between them both or between Hikaru and virtually any GM.

      yeah it's wild how popularized chess has become. I watched the Queen's Gambit this February and I got into chess I just recently hit 1100 Elo and I've been watching chess streams. I forgot who said this but some world champion I believe said that the Queen's Gambit has done more for chess than every world champion combined.

    Kasparov is obviously very smart and can still calculate like a top player but he knew almost all of these studies beforehand - you can see him straining trying to remember from when he solved these in his school days

    amazing video, watching two super GMs struggle with complex endgames is instructive. It almost seems like you start with the various endings and work back to first move. So different then I would do to approach a solution. Now I want to buy all these studies, hide away for a year, and emerge a GM
