Purchased ours from Hansshow and it included white gloves plus all the tools needed to complete the job. Took about 45 minutes to install. Have had it now for about 8 months and it always works.
FYI you're not plugging into the high voltage battery when you plug into that harness, it's going to the 12V battery. All the accessories run off the 12v battery, not the High Voltage battery!
It’s a slick product, one that is on my radar, I just find it a tad overpriced. Like you said, this is a hot market space and I feel like the manufacturer is taking advantage of that.
I just saw another video that said non-Highland Tesla Model 3's in China can get the Highland LED lighting retro fitted as a $180 upgrade, installed by Tesla Service. This is a good indication that Highland and Juniper LED lighting options might be retrofitted to slightly older Model 3's and Y's in the US at some point. So, for those that like the aftermarket lighting options, there might be an OEM lighting upgrade option coming at some point in the future.
Good question. I can't tell you exactly since I no longer have the retractable. I have it away. But at worst it is the same as the retractable. If I had to guess I would say the electric is narrower on the sides and front and maybe a tad bit larger on the back where the motor is.

@@CfTesla Hi. Why did you return the product? Was it just for advertising purposes?
If you want to hold it up... How about just take 2 long ropes, put one over the roof and through the rear doors. Then do the same to the front. Then you can loop it under the sunshade and pull on the rope till it's as high as you want it. then tie it off.. adjust if necessary. Same with the front. Then you can easily do what you want and anytime you let go, the rope will catch it. I think that's as easy as you can get without having objects inside the car. A dollar store will have some rope for dirt cheap.
@@CfTesla thank you, I test drove model Y performance today, and that thing can move and very smooth. I am looking forward to 2025 refresh so I can order my performance model Y then. I’ll be getting this premium power sun shade too once I get my first Tesla ever in 2025.
Ya but yiu just tested the glass, which diesnt really equal the heat transfer in5o the cabin. Especially as that glass is factory tinted. Woukd have been better to compare the ambient temp in the cabin before and after, which probably wiuldnt have ended up being much different.. @@CfTesla
Very interesting product but too pricy for me right now and I don't like how much glass the edges cover. But as heavy as that product is, do you feel it will stay securely in place during an accident? So the motor is exposed on the top, can you see it when you look down from outside?
You loose about 3 1/2 on each side, about 6" up front and about 11" at the back. Trust me when I say you don't notice it. My kids didn't even notice it was in there until days after when I showed them the switch. No you cannot see the motor. The glass is too tinted. Maybe on a day full without sun or rain if you were to cup your hands and stair hard...but I doubt it.
@@CfTesla I think they referring to just the pop-up shades that you put in your windows like the windshield ones. He had to remove each time same outcome but obviously you’d have to manually remove it every time hence why it’s only 50 bucks lol
lets talk about the elephant in the room. Whats rattling like now? I refuse to believe there is no rattling knowing Model Y itself has rattling or sqeeking noise somewhere in the cabin, always.
I ask as I owned an OG '12 model S P85 with a solid roof until recently.. I traded it for a model Y.. I don't even have tint on the roof and do not feel it's too bright at all. I also live in SWFL
What an excellent review and vid! Just straight to the point with everything! We released a portable air pump. Are you interested in giving a review? We have reached out for an inquiry.
Unnecessary. I have driven a Tesla for many years and not once did I wish I had a sunshade. The glass has enough tint and UV blocker. Unless you live in Death Valley, this is unnecessary.
Pointless to literally compare the temp of the glass va the temp of the shade lol. That doesnt mean anything for actually keeping the cabin cooler? How about the inside temp before and after? It will be the same lol. What a waste

Best video comparing to others so far, very detailed oriented step by step.
Tesla should make it as standard part of all their vehicles
Any concerns with the bracket between the glasses and headliner? Vibrations? Concern with bracket damaging glass?

RIGHT! I actually figured that out while thinking about it a few days later. Thanks for pointing that out.
Yeah I was like, no way that's plugged into the high voltage battery.
If it would be, it would shut like one of those doors in star wars - zoooom! 😂
It looks to talk up alot of the surface area when open. Wish they made a more slim version
can you install these on a leased tesla?

Nice install, great accessory
Thanks!

mine has a little gaps on the sides where the sun light peak in a bit.
Yea there is a small amount but it doesn’t seem to affect the heat blockage. It is very small
Wish they made a charcol gray or black one. Replacing my headliner soon to black/charcoal Alcantara to match my door inserts.
Why doesn’t this come standard?!
is there a difference between the EVBase sunshade and the Hansshow sunshade? If they are the same, which is the better option?
How much of the glass roof do you lose? How does rhe size compare to the manual retractable shades? Thanks.

Yap , that should be put first , it scratch my head rest . Use rope to hold it both.
Thanks for the video. How many seconds does it take to close, back to front, on automatic close?
I would say 6 seconds. I’ll test it when I can and verify
@@CfTesla Thanks for verifying when you can. Some of the new ones are advertising eight seconds.
Just checked and I was way off. It was almost 10 seconds. Made a short on it
I 100% need this (in Australia) dammmm it's hot
Haha I bet
Where can I buy this? Would you know if it is available in Canada?
I would buy it if you could control it with you phone and also if it could close by itself when you leave the car and the car locks.
Awesome, looks slick, Any rattles from it so far?
Nope none at all

My question is does the shade make any difference in temperature? Can you do a test of something to see the difference
I do a test in this video!? Made a 16 degree difference.

I wonder how much cheaper Teslas could be with the aluminum roof instead of the glass. Maybe more of us could afford it then.

Absolutely beautiful. But why spend $600+ dollars when a $30 Amazon shade can do almost the same thing?
Send a link!? I can’t imaging someone putting something that doesn’t look OEM in their Tesla.

Really for one reason. It massively lowers the temp in the car causing the AC to work a lot less hard to lower temp

wait for price drop to 100
