Yeah one who doesn’t follow call of duty games as a player, but reads reviews of all games, I have read many reviews of this game that say a lot of things, but failed to communicate any real information. This review with the words individuals does a better job than all of the rest of them put together.
I personally thought this was one of the more enjoyable COD campaigns. Varied mission design and a twisty finale made for a really fun, 4-5 hour journey. I agree though that the game as a whole feels fairly unnecessary.

When Huber talked about the difficulty and they showed that elevator scene...I felt that. That scene was a nightmare on the highest difficulty and I NEVER wanna do it again :D
I think fans have long cried out for COD to go in a direction where all three offerings are separated and provided they were priced accordingly, I would be completely okay with. If Raven put out Cold War with no online because Warzone and MW were still going strong, and if it was price right, I would totally be okay with that because the Black Ops games are usually the only COD campaigns I end up enjoying really. Which is why it was so disappointing 4 didn't have one.
As someone who didn't care for many aspects of MW's multiplayer (TTK, map design, traps, explosives, doors, etc.) CW has been a breath of fresh air. Its launch was a little rocky, but has quickly smoothed out. My only two criticisms are the lack of maps and stupid freaking snipers lol.

I haven't played the campaign, and I was absolutely invested in MW's multiplayer...but there's just so much variety in Cold War! As someone who doesn't play BattleRoyal, (i love the firefights, hate the skulking around waiting to get killed, too scary haha) But Dirty bomb is the best (i never team up and it's still fun) it's all the firefight without the fear of losing everything. Also every mode allows you to level up weapons? So no need to only play mp, if you're getting rolled, play Zombies and level up your favorite gun! it's awesome. I do miss the Weight of the weapons in MW but the gameplay is too much fun In Cold War. I"m on PC, no connection issues here. if that helps. This is the COD where if you're not doing good, switch modes and I guarantee you'll find your sweet spot. also, as Battlefield fan, this is closest to that style, I'm surprised it wasn't brought up in the review.

With 3 months of updates, this game is definitely better than a 7.5. Technical issues are vastly improved. In my personal opinion this is the best COD since the original Modern Warfare.
All the points stand. The game is undercooked for sure. But as someone who didn't enjoy Modern Warfare nearly as much as I wanted to, Cold war was a breath of fresh air. It's insanely fun playing with a full squad and zombies is still engaging 3 weeks in. Season 1 content is dropping December 10th (for free) and I can't wait. I hope they have a steady lineup of content to offer because I'm enjoying the hell out of this game right now.
While it is a shame there's only one Zombies map, I believe in part this is just as much to do with making it more approachable for novices as the waypoints, etc. They want a larger part of the playerbase to get invested in the mode. As it stands, Die Machine is one of the most replayable maps they've ever made thansk to its simplicity, the polished mechanics that are simple but offer a decent amount of depth, and the simplicity of the Main Quest. Setting your mind to it, most players are more than capable of completing the Main Quest, which is a very welcome change from Black Ops 3 & 4, which featured some of the most complex Easter Eggs we've ever seen.
Good score, I'm sick of reviewers giving COD unearned 9's and 10's, 7.5 is a fair score for the lack of content and innovation, that is why I wait for easy allies reviews.

The reason you specify which platform you reviewed the game on is because other platforms may be different when it comes to bugs and performance or even gameplay. From the graphics, I think the reviewer played the PS4 BC version instead of the PS5 native one. From what I've heard it's an easy mistake to make. By default it starts the PS4 version, you must change it in the game hub.
I only play the campaigns in all COD, BF or MOH games as their the most realistic part of these military arcade (non milsim) games at full realism with no crosshairs its pretty fun like playing an interactive film. So I get more than 5hrs in these campaigns and I do love to play the over again like the MW remastered series for one. Also I don't have the time or want to play multiplayer etc just want to play a bit then save a play later NOT blue wins red lose a hundred times over ehhh... I do sometimes play coop with family and friends with games like ARMA 2-3, Far Cry, Borderlands, Division 2 and GRB etc But not into all this battle royal, team death match, catch the flag stuff and totally hate zombies in COD etc. Only zombie game I do like is Dying Light and RE but no Killing floor or Dayz and L4D. Been playing the bunny hopping, strafing and R and G PVP stuff since the 90's like outlaws, doom and quake when I was a kid. Now I like more realistic mil-sim or flight sims looks when you get older run and gun gets boring as you get less and less time to play games don't worry young ones you will understand one day : D. Anyway still haven't cracked all the puzzles in this game as i am a completion addict and still have not finished everything yet, hell still did not finish some challenges in BO2 yet either LOL
I wish Activision would just make Multiplayer free to play alongside Warzone. I am enjoying Cold War on PS5, but there just wasn't enough maps to necessarily justify the $70 price tag.

I just find it absolutely disgusting how few maps there are for multiplayers. Why can't we get 15. Five long, five short, and five intermediate. Mix them up and that way everybody gets to play different styles for different maps it really improved the ability of community to be able to adapt and get better. It really doesn't seem like it has very many open maps except for satellite and that map is pretty much garbage. Most of the maps aren't very good. cartel is a disaster because you can hide in your f****** bushes all the time, satellite is campers Paradise, Armada is Rush and camp the spawns, same with Garrison. That leaves four decent maps and it's a stretch calling Miami a decent map. I think Black ops 2 had a total of what 17 at launch. 95% of those were really good. Like really really good. They were diverse they were different each and in their own aspect. All I'm saying is I would be happy, no elated if call of duty went back to 2-year launches. Keep making new maps and new content for the current game and make eight DLCs instead of four and that way when a new game comes out people are actually excited for it.
This game is still alive almost because of zombies mode.. yeah the same mode that they hate.. nerfed exp af, putted aside (only one map), out of the season one so lack in contents, full of glitches and so much more. If there was a Call of Duty:Zombies, Cold War would be already dead.
I’m on mission 10 or so and it crashes on my Series X in the same spot. I’ve deleted and re-downloaded, but it’s still not fixed. Very upset with this game. Hope it gets patched soon.
besides the campaign not being nearly as wild as it should have been, the game just generally feels like it should have come out last year and that Modern Warfare should have been the next gen game. Cold War just feels cheaper and is way glitchy-er. I've gotten past round 30 on zombies multiple times and the ex-fil option just straight up doesn't work lol
After modern warfare I’m definitely not buying Cold War. I’m done with COD for a few years until they release bo2 remastered, but without a doubt Activision will probably screw that up too

Well half the reasons it's not recommended doesn't have anything to do with the game itself. So it's not fair to deduct too many points simply because MW/Warzone is just as good and therefore not worth upgrading too. 7.5 is a C, it's a passing grade. It means the game is fine, not great and not terrible.
I think it’s really just because “my friend is playing it” and because you can’t play multiplayer between different games, the other friends are obligated to get it to keep playing with them. Even though there’s really no reason to stop playing the current one. I’m sure it takes a dip when a new one comes out, but I doubt it’s going to be a hard cut. You could probably play multiplayer on one COD game for 3 years before it’s hard to find matches, given how big the audience is... but I’m also making an assumption. I’m sure you could at least get 2 years out of one game.

I'm disappointed with this review. Normally I consider easy allies and one other outlet to be my "acid test" for game reviews. If they like a game I generally consider it a good sign. However this review fails to accurately address the mess that is multiplayer and underscores that the reviewer really didn't look at the game. Had they, they would have seen... Game crashes that reset and/or brick consoles. Mine has been reset a bunch of times. Camos not unlocking despite meeting criteria. Numerous and prolific graphical glitches; reticules appearing and disapearing as you look through them (only a few are stable). Loading screens suddenly looking washed out. Etc. Old assests appearing in the game from prior games. Lack of maps! The lowest yet! Lack of guns! The lowest yet! Lack of modes! The lowest yet! Matchmaking randomly not working when in a party and kicking people out of the party! The gunsmith being a decided step back from MW; you can't kit your gun with unique attachments that only that gun has. For example, turning the AUG from a sub machine gun into an assault rifle. Or the M4 from an assault rifle into a sub machine gun. Lack of gameplay in multiplayer; no mounting anymore, no pulling your pistol out while on ladders, no doors you can close. Etc. I could have scripted a better review than this. It's clear whoever did this didn't really take the time to do it right or was not a fan of the series. This game should be a controversy that it was ever released when it clearly needed to be delayed.

You gotta appreciate that EZA takes their time to actually finish the games they are reviewing and trying out each game mode extensively. Unlike most other reviewers who pump out reviews after only playing for a few hours. That's why I only really care about EZA reviews because I know they put the time in to make a fair and accurate review.

I'm disappointed with this review. Normally I consider easy allies and one other outlet to be my "acid test" for game reviews. If they like a game I generally consider it a good sign.
However this review fails to accurately address the mess that is multiplayer and underscores that the reviewer really didn't look at the game. Had they, they would have seen...
Game crashes that reset and/or brick consoles. Mine has been reset a bunch of times.
Camos not unlocking despite meeting criteria.
Numerous and prolific graphical glitches; reticules appearing and disapearing as you look through them (only a few are stable). Loading screens suddenly looking washed out. Etc.
Old assests appearing in the game from prior games.
Lack of maps! The lowest yet!
Lack of guns! The lowest yet!
Lack of modes! The lowest yet!
Matchmaking randomly not working when in a party and kicking people out of the party!
The gunsmith being a decided step back from MW; you can't kit your gun with unique attachments that only that gun has. For example, turning the AUG from a sub machine gun into an assault rifle. Or the M4 from an assault rifle into a sub machine gun.
Lack of gameplay in multiplayer; no mounting anymore, no pulling your pistol out while on ladders, no doors you can close. Etc.
I could have scripted a better review than this. It's clear whoever did this didn't really take the time to do it right or was not a fan of the series. This game should be a controversy that it was ever released when it clearly needed to be delayed.

Looks like an easy skip I guess. Plus, MW set the bar very high, and I expect the same quality again.

MW is way better than this game its soo bad i uninstalled to make room for MW on ps5.
You're a little late on this one, guys. I was expecting this review from you over a week ago. Fair enough you've gotta allot enough time to prepare a considered criticism but a review should be as close to the launch window as possible.
Sorry, there were far more games than staff that came out in a short period, and some of those games were 80 - 100 hours long. Can't get a review done if we're still working on the previous review. -Bloodworth
@@EasyAllies Totally understandable and the fact is that late or not, you consistently deliver the best reviews in the business. It's just odd that I already bought this game for my father as a Christmas present, wrapped it and put it under the tree before you had a review up. I have nothing but love for your whole team though.
You gotta appreciate that EZA takes their time to actually finish the games they are reviewing and trying out each game mode extensively. Unlike most other reviewers who pump out reviews after only playing for a few hours. That's why I only really care about EZA reviews because I know they put the time in to make a fair and accurate review.

To be honest it was always going to be a Christmas purchase specifically for my dad because he's just a big COD fan, the dude is 59 and games on Xbox One X. He rarely buys new games for himself though, just plays his old library. I didn't say I was relying on a review to decide on purchase. I was merely pointing out it's odd the review was like three weeks after release, long after every other channel. Intended no offence.
