I’ve literally just bought this game and I absolutely love it. I know it’s old now,but the maps are some of the best of all the cod games. Absolutely love playing the mp,only gripes, score streaks are ridiculous, doesn’t promote objective game play at all. But maps, gun play, sound design are some of the best cod mp ever. Aside from blops 1,2 mw2 2009.’
I agree with you on The Pines, map was awesome, in the future when I think back to this game a huge portion of my positive memories will probably be on that map, I loved the layout and the way it plays.
Cold War ended up a really good game. The issue is they deliberately hold back content to make more money off updates. They can release more complete cods but choose not to
I totally agree I was like level 300 in season one and then I played 50 levels into season 2 and then didn't play again until Season 6 and that was basically to get ready for Vanguard
Not gonna lie, I enjoyed Cold War with the Zombies mode in particular. The MP this year just didn't feel as enjoyable as MW and I felt that it was just so frustrating to play. 6v6 Face Off and 12v12 Moshpit was fun. I won't be able to get Vanguard at launch, but I'm excited for it this year since it will play almost like MW. I'm excited to try out the MP and Zombies. The hype has pretty much creeped up on me to the point where I wanna play Vanguard right now
Been a fan for a long time and look up to you after everything you’ve gone through. I know what it’s like. Always have and will look forward to your videos. Idk about you but I’m ready for some of these remasters to start pumping out
I love this game helped me through the pandemic tbf and think it’s really underrated! Also treyarch did a great job considering they only had 9 months to complete it and let’s be honest it’s a hell of a lot better and more complete than vanguard lol
It's a pretty minor thing, but THANK YOU for not spoiling the ending to the campaign. I haven't played it yet, but I've been meaning to some day. I appreciate it Nero :)
I'm just mad they wasted Treyarchs year with a sledgehammer game that Treyarch had to take over with 9 months to go. Sledgehammer should forfeit their year especially with how bad vanguard is.
Tbf, I think Josh's phrasing actually means he has 4 days of play time in JUST his 11th prestige. So, from the time of his 10th prestige, to the time of his writing that post, he had 4 days in the game.
I understand your argument concerning the air patrol streak. I sucks when you’re doing well and someone destroys your streak with a lower class one. However, I enjoy playing more of a support role in my squad and think it’s nice that the game gives me a chance to counter a strong killstreak.
By far the worst cod to date Treyarch are the most incompetent cod studio I’ve ever seen tf happened to BO1/bo2 games ever since then they reskin the same shit & never innovate
I still love cod. Cod's problem really show their head when you play for several hours a day. I work 50 hours a week and only play cod for maybe an hour once or twice a week. I love each one of them for one thing or any other. Great bite sized game .if I wanna grind something I play an rpg or something like thar
Black ops 3 was amazing in my opinion. Even though it's an unpopular opinion then futuristic mobility played so well in that game. Used to fly around the map like a demon smoking fools lol. Miss that shit.
This game fell off after week 1 for me. It was somewhat refreshing at first and I liked the atmosphere of the game, but I was too frustrated overall with some of the game mechanics like the audio and hit detection that I raged more than I had fun. Didnt help that I love map variety and there were so few maps. I played a couple times with friends every couple months or so but preferred to play mw2019 at any other time. Zombies also felt weird to me. I was once a high round grinder back in bo1 but this zombies didnt feel immersive whatsoever.
Definitely agree with the zombies. You'd think after BO4 received so much backlash they would go back to the original system that got everyone hooked on zombies to begin with. But noooooo what do they do instead? Same dumb shit with no replay value
For me Cold War is 6/10 -Major Lack of contents -Horrible weapon/scorestreaks balance -Horrible matchmaking -Awful Scorestreak system No way i'm remembering this as underrated nostalgic game
Definitely putting this game off and coming back to it really made it feel great. Right now it feels fun to play and I think that I will be sticking with it a bit more especially considering imo vanguard is not worth 60$
Cold war was a solid game to me. I hated how slow they made sniper ads speed but besides that I enjoyed it over mw2019 and I'm looking forward to Treyarch having full development time on the next entry.
I had a lot of fun on Zombies, but got burned out with the lack of maps, feel, and variety of the game after I did the Dark Aether grind. I agree with Neros about the game potentially being great but falling up short. Pity
I'm going to keep with Cold War as all the sweats and try hards should be on Vanguard. I've not played much due to this but hoping SBMM will be toned down so could be enjoyable with all the content.
It sucks that fireteam dirty bomb never caught on. I thought it was a really well done mixture of regular multiplayer and battle royal. I think people are just too impatient and it took a few games of playing to really figure out what was going on and the games last about a half hour a piece.
Completely agree. The beta gave me bo1/bo2 vibes but there wasn't enough to it and the studio was ignorant about our feedback. So much unrealized potential... thanks buddy.
You hit the nail on the head with how I feel on Cold War. The only reason I enjoyed it was combined arms, zombies, and fireteam elimination and the campaign obviously.
A cod game is not judged by how much content it has, it didn’t help that cold war didn’t have much content at the beginning, but there were glaring issues that ruined it for a lot of people. I think we can all agree that the scorestreak system, lack of a real prestige system, and the SBMM is what really killed Cold War.
I'm honestly just thinking about quitting cod for good. I have a combined 80 hours in the last three cod games, and I can say that cold war was the worst one for me. It had the hardest skill based matchmaking so far, I mean at the hight of my skill (top 2% in league play) I literally had played against Formal, scumpii and a few other pro players. I just play for fun, not for sweat.
I feel like treyarch didn't care about the game post launch, very little was balanced or fixed and the post content outside of zombies and maybe a few things was just ok.
My thoughts on BOCW at launch - 4 out of 10. My thoughts on BOCW after its lifecycle - 6 out of 10. Both the Campaign and Zombies were good and enjoyable, but MP sucked. The gunplay and maps weren't bad, it was the SBMM, lack of things to earn and lack of new and original maps over the course of the year that ruined it for me. This game had potential to be in top 5 COD's of all time, maybe even top 3.
I didn’t even get this game until the 3rd zombies map was out. Basically played for about a month then stopped caring. Definitely the last COD I’ll buy for a long time, if ever.

Four days of playtime is the equivalent of stopping by for a few minutes.
Even though i knew what it was underwhelming, I only grinded Dark Matter only because it was something to do.
They can release more complete cods but choose not to
Love your commentaries! Great video. Cold War for me missed the mark. Wasn't awful, but I just didn't have much fun with it.
I’m hoping Vanguard has no SBMM. I miss playing COD. Good stuff😀👍🏼(I haven’t played COD the last 3 cycles )
Cw better then mw2 2022 😂
Cold war was awful and just drained the life out of me. I game I just want to forget. Worst CoD I ever played. I hated it!!!
You know there might be a variety of weapons but so little balance, everyone still uses ak74u and galo
Audio is way better then vanguard will ever be
Definitely agree with the zombies. You'd think after BO4 received so much backlash they would go back to the original system that got everyone hooked on zombies to begin with. But noooooo what do they do instead? Same dumb shit with no replay value
For me Cold War is 6/10
-Major Lack of contents
-Horrible weapon/scorestreaks balance
-Horrible matchmaking
-Awful Scorestreak system
No way i'm remembering this as underrated nostalgic game
I camped the hell out of Cold War and loved every minute of it……got vanguard so I’ll be there camping with one shot weapons……stay frosty baby
1:02 the look of that sight took me a minute to fully process
I hated dirty bomb and constant parachuting. Only thing I like was big maps since the game was desperate for maps.
The only counter to air patrol was calling in an air patrol. Happened numerous times to me.
Sadly, that console trick only works on xbox
Black ops 4 is by far the worst black ops.
Completely agree. The beta gave me bo1/bo2 vibes but there wasn't enough to it and the studio was ignorant about our feedback. So much unrealized potential... thanks buddy.
i'm surprised they didn't re-use the Kremlin Nuketown from BO4
Years later and Nero still doesn't realize the ac-130 can shoot 2 of the 105mm before it needs to reload
7:05 and that’s the reason why I never got into this game.
This game sucked. The worst out the black ops genre.
Personally I think Cold War had locked potential from being a good game but all the stuff that happened wrecked it
There some bugs that never got touched. See exhibit A, the “best play” perk loadout is almost never right.
I really enjoyed Cold War. Played a lot of it. I rate it a lot better than MW2019. Maybe a top 5/6 for me.
It’s 2021 and devs still can’t figure out how to get mw2, bo1, and bo2 vibes back
Nero forgot to mention SBMM being soo high that it killed the fun from the game so nobody could really embrace the positives.
best ps4 era cod by far
I'm honestly just thinking about quitting cod for good.
I have a combined 80 hours in the last three cod games, and I can say that cold war was the worst one for me.
It had the hardest skill based matchmaking so far, I mean at the hight of my skill (top 2% in league play) I literally had played against Formal, scumpii and a few other pro players.
I just play for fun, not for sweat.
I feel like treyarch didn't care about the game post launch, very little was balanced or fixed and the post content outside of zombies and maybe a few things was just ok.
And I say that in a way I feel like they were burnt out on the little time they had with this game
You are my favorite youtuber
This will be one of those cods while playing it I thought it was meh then I look back years later and miss it lol - I can just feel it
My thoughts on BOCW at launch - 4 out of 10.
Don't forget the 100 days we had where there was no balance update
