    I've literally got tea bags that are a few years ood perfectly fine, still using tp from 2016 when I was agency staff (glad I did with ppl panic buying it start of pandemic) still got hand-wash from that time will last me years same with a few other items that I did buy but now just using up. Just wanting to buy a few more bits for the space I got then I'll just need fresh stuff and frozen as and when needed

    I doubt very much that supermarkets have 42 days of food available, more like 42 hours, stock literally comes in and is put straight out onto the shop floor, there is absolutely no back up in our supermarkets back store rooms, for the last 2/3 years the top shelves don’t even hold any overstocks, I’m retired retail and have been able to see all the “cover ups” going on to disguise the lack of stock, there is always lots of seasonal tat to fill the shelves and people are attracted to it like magpies, I should imagine in a panic situation shelves could be emptied in less than 3 hours and I certainly wouldn’t want to be in that scrum down, great haul you have there.

    • @AnasFoodLifestyle

      Hi , it’s only what I read , maybe that would cover just basics , I dint know . Certainly things are very different now as you say , they have tricks to make it look full but it’s lacking so much , I did a video and mentioned that choices that we had are really narrowed down . Yes 3hrs empty Time with 12hrs lines like during pandemic 🤣 stay away by prepping 👍😊

    Don't fret on the dates , tinned goods last for years , unless the can has blown its all good well past the date , that date is a store thing for rotation . I've had some tins years past the date on them and the product is well good , I'm of an age where we didn't have dates on anything , use your senses to tell whether it's still good or not . Eyes smell and look .i

    I went into Lidl this afternoon with the intention of buying enough minced beef to do a canning run. The beef section was really sparse - across all sizes and fat percentages of mince, there were about 8 packs in total. Diced beef was down to about 6 packs and there were maybe 8 roasting joints and a couple of packs of steaks. Pork was a little better stocked but still gappy, likewise chicken. Maybe they hadn't restocked yet but it was 2:30ish so I would have expected someone would have topped up if there was much in the back. I started saving my receipts last year and since summer, most tinned good have gone up by 10p, lentils by 16p a bag and their own spreadable butter has gone up 70p a pack. Apart from the butter, it doesn't sound a lot but over a fully shopping trolley, all those 10p increases really mount up - it's a £1 over 10 items.

    • @AnasFoodLifestyle
      @AnasFoodLifestyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi , yes Lidl seems to be running low on fresh stuff . Same here , piped in tonight to get juice , barely any cheese , yes cheese … crazy , no water again., no cat litter , no cheap cat food , no pasta and tiny amount of eggs ( as expected )

    • @Iamhome365
      @Iamhome365 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our prices in lidl/aldi have shot up. Months ago I would have paid approx €70-€80 for what I'd get, now its about €120 for the same things. Butter alone went from €2.19 to €3.39 for 1lb in a very short space of time!

      I saw IIRC last year that Lidl were reducing their meat sections as part of the "respone to climate change". It seems to have been slim pickings there recently. I have managed to squirrel away quite a few in the freezer, as I do with beef joints until I have enough for a canning run.

    Maybe the short dates are deliberate to stop us from stocking up? Just a thought.

    • @TrueNativeScot
      @TrueNativeScot ปีที่แล้ว

      Also possible that the shorter dates are due to supermarkets shelving extra backup stock. It could mean that they have less good due to shortages so they are having to out up older stock. That is a bit worrying if true, it means that once the reserves are used up that the real shortages will truly begin. Just an assumption, I don't know if it works like that though

  • @sarawalker8479
    @sarawalker8479 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think your right about them running low on stock. I thought that the other day when we were looking at the dates on the long life milk. It’s either that or it’s that they are putting shorter dates so people think they can’t store them… to deter prepping as people are funny about dates. I do the same, get jitters and buy bits😂 I think it’s natural as we know we need to feed our families.

    • @AnasFoodLifestyle
      @AnasFoodLifestyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is possible as a deterrent but most preppers take dates with a pinch of salt , as we know many things will last ages past the date. It is important for stock rotation though . Stock is low pretty sure but looking like going to be worse with the latest cyber attack on the ships , supply chain is under attack 😢

    • @sarawalker8479
      @sarawalker8479 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnasFoodLifestyle yeah I know we take dates with a pinch of salt. (I just opened a panettone with a bbf 2021 😂) but non preppers who might start to grab a few extra bits won’t if they think the dates are short. Leaving more food on the shelves… but I do believe it’s more that there running out tbh.

    The prices get me every month where they keep going up it makes me buy more so when the panic starts I know I'm kinda safe but I know ill still be missing things I buy 10 of everything from asda ect too... every month I'm buying at least 30kgs of rice out of the world food iles and 28kg of pasta same as you 😉and 10 packs of spaghetti with the amount I have I still don't feel like I've enough but I know I've saved money over the long run but I know my family should be a bit better off the most I do kinda feel guilty for those that can't buy as much in bulk as me but they have ignored the warnings for the last 3years so I shouldn't really feel guilty for what I'm doing... I know people who are really struggling but if the time comes I will help them with a little bit as won't see their kids go hungry that's for sure even tho it's not my responsibility to take care of them they should of done more instead of dismiss my warnings before the old coughington event...at first they thought I was a crack pot now their asking what they should do I told them ya abit late to the party due to the prices so its going to be harder but you still have time if your smart with you're money to get the things you need but we can't give our own secrets away otherwise we're be shooting our self's in the foot we've got to protect our self's before we protect others we have to be realistic

    I had ben told by many that oxygen absorbers should not be put in dried fruit or anything that is not completely dry like grains, pasta,etc., as botulism can grow there.
    We have also been concerned about each trip to the store being our last. My grandson works in our biggest in this town, part of a major chain, and they gave him and his fellows there 'Active Shooter" training.

    Thank you for your video.
    We are also suffering from "influences" most of us are not even aware of.
    For instance, the weakening of our Magnetosphere (earths force field so to speak) is allowing for more Solar and Cosmic energies to have an effect on the planet, (climate change) and all life on the planet.
    We seem to become more influenced by our own fleeting emotions and do not think properly at all.
    I know that "feelings" have their place, I just believe they can be highly over rated when given too much importance.
    And then to have the gall to blame others for how one "choses" to feel. Because we all have been trained as to what "feelings" are good and who to blame for the bad ones.
    "You made angry!" Is a good one eh? I know I choose to be angry, ... lol That's why I'm angry all the time.
    Imagine how this will affect people who are hiding behind a thin screen of "normal" in order to keep their shit together.
    I'm doing a focused prep on Dehydrated Skim Milk. I'll forgo all other products and blow it all on the Milk and call it a done deal.
    Next will be the Grain Elevator for a half ton of whole Wheat and 500lbs of whole Oats. Talk about your fresh porridge.
    I've actually been passing up sales on Pasta because I have so much of the stuff and pasta is so easy to make with some flour, a dash of salt, an egg and some water, ... if I remember right.
    Keep up the great work!
    And good luck.

    Isn't it true that when online orders are made, the extra stock is sent automatically each day to the relevant store that will be processing your order to cover the additional sales? So ordering anything online isn't going to leave anyone else short, even with higher quantity orders. It isn't 'panic buying' in my opinion. The computer systems are set up to cover it adequately. 🤔
