Since the conversation was in English, the overseas person will understand Parung Panjang's problematic issues for those unfamiliar with it. For real, the corruption level here is extreme man. It won't end in a short time unless government takes extreme measures to end this once and for all.
Nowadays, I mostly follow American politics and I can even say I've developed an apathy to Indonesian politics despite still living in Indonesia. I have simply lost hope that things will ever change for the better. To say that corruption in Indonesia is a serious problem is a gross understatement. It is systemic in every sector. It is integrated to every level. It is simply inevitable, including in education. I had hoped that Jokowi would change that. I was disappointed. In the legislative branch, I was excited when PSI came into play. I thought we would finally have a political party with young and progressive politicians to perhaps one day replace our current generation of politicians (whom I think are a lost cause), but look at them now, sacrificing their ideals just to be in close proximity to power. Hence, my apathy 😂 But who knows, with shows like this, I might rediscover my interest in Indonesian politics. And while I understand Pak Ronald's reluctance to open certain cans of worms, I think it is actually important to do so if we want to start tackling the problem. And even if we can't solve it, the discussion itself could at least be informative. Perhaps in a different episode, eh? And one last thing, Ben Shapiro's "Facts dont care about your feelings" may sound great, until you realize that Ben himself is a hypocritical grifter who pushes right wing agendas, often with no regard to facts.
Well, that's why it is called compromise in this beloved country. You can't really do anything while you don't have power (government coalition), especially when dealing with corruption issues. If they are caught in corruption, that's another story.
well if you dont follow what the pic wants, you are either poor or fired. That’s just how it is in Indonesia. “Pesan Sponsor”, “Titipan”, word I hear a lot. Personally, I just focused on my own work, I have my responsibility, my familly, can’t risk messing with the wrong people.
Best of luck to him, he sounds like somebody who knows what he is talking about, which is much needed, if nobody complains then change will never happen, it's good to listen to someone who is direct and doesn't sugar-coat things.
out of topic. i didn’t expect he has lived in california for many years and the english was so good. and also you two guys are my favorite person didn’t belive this collaboration. ❤
Bro, I love your podcast and had so much "daging" on it, also with the sarcastic joke. I had an idea though, what if you made each episode 20-30 minutes and split them into 2 or 3 parts? I feel like that could help boost the watch time even more. Honestly, your podcast deserves way more than 50K views
The Grand Depok City bridge connection has only been repaired for 3 weeks and is already damaged. But thanks to Bro Ron and his team, the bridge connections are safe, smooth and hundreds of times more durable than those made by the Depok city government. Strong and collective corruption in the city of Depok makes many projects unclear and quickly damaged. The budget for more important things such as free education and health is ultimately not optimal.
21:46 My sister goes to a state school, we are a fairly well-off family so we can pay any donations requested by the school. But imagine if you saw that your playmates at school couldn't pay the donation and ended up not being able to take the exam or not receiving an "Ijazah"?
I went to a private school, at my school there was a program to reduce school entrance fees and monthly school fees for those who couldn't afford it, even though the students weren't smart.
A pothole Java is a smooth road in Sumatra. When I first travelled from Semarang to Jogja, the road was so smooth, I felt so heartbroken as you could not see that in my hometown. My Chinese Medanese parents had to temporary fill in potholes themselves because so many people had died from those potholes and they could not trust the government to get them done.
Exactly. Talk shit if you can back it up. Most of us talk shit, without the ability or any proof to back it up. Despite his political party choice, I admire and respect BroRon a lot. All the talk shit he said about the state-owned company, about the gov policy (especially about the public infrastructure), all of that make sense for us as civilians. I enjoyed this convo between you both. Kudos!

Im a uni student but back when i was in high school, My school used to collect monthly fees from the students and if a student haven't pay monthly fees for months, they can't participate in Semester Test (You would get a Semester Test Card after u paid the monthly fees). If you wanted to keep participate, they need to do stuff to tricks the teachers and take the Test Card

Hey! it just my random OOT thoughts. I see that it seems interesting to see Azka (Corbuzier) here. I feel like there is no other podcast that could really show the real Azka due to lack of references and language barrier in other podcasts 🤣🤣
you know what worse, when im at high school, i though the "biaya gedung" or "biaya komite" is common and happened in all school in this nation. Turns out im so fcking dumb
some of the corruption in school is called STUDI TOUR. that is they're big profit come from forcing student to pay for it with lot of amount money. and they scared us with "if not pay you will not take another class or u will not naik kelas" i mean whats matter with STUDI TOUR with tinggal kelas atau naik kelas jirr. udah mah di paksa ikut gk ikut harus bayar, imagine per class had 20-30 student in it and they had like 3 of them lets just say SMK they had lot of jurusan. per jurusan murid nya harus bayar ya di kalikan saya per kelas 20-30 jika harus membayar 1.5jt apalagi anak SMP per kelas udah pasti banyak dan biasanya ada 3 kelas kelas A,B and C. 20 student X 3 X 1.500.000Rp;
Mungkin bukan hal2 penting, tapi ya kekesalan mereka kan tetap valid.

Absolutely agree on Saphiro’s hypocrisy. And I second that USA politic much more dynamic, often feels like watching reality shows.
yep, PSI is such a heartbreaking disappointment
Well, that's why it is called compromise in this beloved country. You can't really do anything while you don't have power (government coalition), especially when dealing with corruption issues. If they are caught in corruption, that's another story.

Dari rakyat yang
suka telat
suka ngutang ngak bayar
suka rebahan
Maka lahirlah
pemimpin korup
pemimpin inefisien
pemimpin hobi ngutang
yang akhirnya menciptakan generasi rakyat selanjutnya yang
suka telat
suka ngutang ngak bayar
