Hey Jirard (I hope I spelled your name correctly), I know you probably have all hands full, but I‘ve got an idea for your next time consuming project: Hitman 3 (with all the content of the world of assassination trilogy). I played Hitman 2 for over 200 hours over the last year, and it never felt like a grind (which doesn‘t mean it can‘t be frustrating). Also: with the elusive targets (because there you can earn outfits), and new content you could play it aside, as a long project. Just an idea from a fan. I hope you won‘t stress yourself out in this year, and that it‘ll never be as horrible as 2020. Peace.
I hope that they actually select you to play the sega saturn version of panzer dragoon saga. It'd be so refreshing to see a retro completionist episode, and it'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on getting 100% map completion for example. Not to mention your thoughts on it being as good or better than the original FF7 after completing it.
I don't want to sound like I'm forcing you to but you should totally complete sunset overdrive and it's the first video game I've ever actually completed 100 percent
That is very much true. As someone who has played the original and Zwei. I enjoyed Zwei A lot more. Of course, this is based off my personal experience. I have nothing against the first game. Zwei just had a lot more elaborated. I loved the idea you can change the dragon into other ones, since it evolves through out the game. And which dragon you get, depended on which paths you took.
@@sinfurihaart zwei also came out on xbox, not during the 90s, i hope by that point, the series would have done a game as good as star fox 64 and its branching paths...
My two main TH-cam niches are cooking and video games. This shit was so far out of left field. Imagine if Babish makes a recipe and puts it on the complete it/finish it/etc. scale.
My assumption is it'll be one of four candidates: Either Sonic 4 (Episodes I AND II), Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Final Fantasy IV or Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.
Let's hope that since Sega finally remembered that they have more than just sonic and yakuza and they've been on a Renaissance recently that they re release those other games also.
I'm just happy there's a chance to bring this series back. Even if we just get remakes on modern hardware and that one PSVR game. I'm on my third Saturn and it'd be nice to have an easier way to play these games.
@@Saturn185 By "original Xbox" I assume you mean the version embedded within Orta, which when I played it had an even WORSE framerate than the Saturn version
Sounds like when the trophy's were made, someone accidentally added a digit though even 10 hours would be asked a lot with so little content and such a high price compared to it.
So, who wants to let Jirard know that Panzer Dragoon Saga is gonna cost him between $600-$1000 for a copy of the game... I swear, the retro game market sometimes...
This game back in the day, was the gateway into 3d for me. I had a friend, who had the sega Saturn, and brought this over, along with another cult classic called D. My mind was blown and thought that those were some of the greatest games of all time. Of course, they arn't, but it does hit me right in my nostalgic stomach. Good times back then
I remember as a kid I loved the Panzer Dragoon series. Orta was going to be coming out soon, and I asked my grandmother for it. What I got instead was Legend of the Dragoon, and while I was initially disappointed, Legend of the Dragoon is what got me started on RPGs and I absolutely loved it as a child.
If it weren't for that "Lifeless" trophy, the game would be worth completing. So once the game goes on sale, just complete everything BUT the Lifeless trophy, and embrace the True Platinum by ignoring the False Platinum that the game taunts you with.
As a lifelong fan of Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Saga in particular, having recently watched a play through of FF-7 I have to say Saga bears it in terms of gameplay but ff-7 beats it in terms of story. I really did think ff-7 was overhyped for the longest time mostly because I was having the story explained to me first while I was in middle school by other middle schoolers, and then when I was older by people who barely remembered the game. The movie advent children didn’t do it any favors, everyone emphasizes that Sephiroth is a bad ass or that he’s evil while entirely missing the point of what Sephiroth is. i finally understood after watching Grant from LRR play through it that the main point of Sephiroth and the game is about how people deal with trauma, Sephiroth is like Cloud’s PTSD manifest. Throughout the game it’s questionable how often Sephiroth is really there and how often it’s a projection. None of the people who ever tried to explain the game to me ever mentioned this even when they were giving me the full with spoilers run down, and to me it’s an even bigger/more important part of the game then Aerith’s death.
If the mini-producers make you complete more Wario Land games, Jirard, I would be all-in for collaborating with you for them, especially the third one. That one is my favourite of not only the series but my top game of all time. Want to know part of the reason for my name? Yeah, that's why.
I haven’t played Panzer Dragoon, but if it’s a good game that’s fun to play I could care less about it’s length. Yeah, maybe it could be a couple bucks cheaper, but this game’s most obvious comparison is Star Fox, and the Star Fox and Star Fox 64 can be breezed through in like 20 mins. Anyone who had those games played them hundreds of times and still loved every minute. Don’t get hung up on stupid ass trophies. Just pickup and play whenever you wanna get in a fun, quick gaming session.
I don't disagree with adding extra content, but I would have said to include the sequel alongside the original. Remaining faithful to the original is something I appreciate in an industry that has a massive problem with preservation, so getting both Panzer Dragoon 1 and 2 would have been a better deal. Add in some extra content and that $25 would have made sense.
I remember playing this on the Saturn back in the late 90s. I recall that one was $49.99 new when it came out. This remake does look good, so I will probably end up getting it for Steam on sale. Oh yeah, I recall it's also an unlockable on Orta (which came out on the OG Xbox, but is playable on the XB1).
But it is a bit much for much content it is. Look, I'm fine with the campaign being an hour. But to justify its price, it needs replayability. OG RE3 is short, but has random enemy spawns and nemesis choices. So you would want to replay the game to see the content
I was thinking about starting a TH-cam channel about completing games then I came across your channel. I watched like 23 episodes strait and said nope, no point in devoting 350hrs a week to complete games only 2 be second best. Love your channel man keep it up.
I've only ever played the very first Panzer Dragoon back when it was first released. I haven't played any of the others that came out after. I very much enjoyed the very first Panzer Dragoon game.
I agree Jirad. I bought the game at full price to show my support for the franchise because what I really want to see is a remaster of Panzer Dragoon Orta on Switch/PC. It fully deserves to be ported to modern platforms, it’s so good.
Panzer dragoon is a fun and short onrails shooter with great soundtrack, graphics and gameplay. But if you do a remake at this price, its better to include the sequel Zwei too, a game that is longer and has some more variation.
If there was a game I'd love Jirard to complete, it'd be Ar Tonelico 2: Melodies of Metafalica. Not only does it have a comprehensible Completion process, and it coined the Completionist term before Jirard did. When talking to an NPC as part of a side quest, one of the replies you can have when she asked you why your talking to her is "I'm a Completionist". That and completing missions red adds more to the character development.
I feel like I should check out the story of the sequel game. If so many people say it's great there has to be something good there. Also yeah I could see an rpg having a play the game for 100 hours if it included new items and things for its new game plus, but 100 hours to play the Campaign over and over that's maybe 1 single hour is ridiculous.
Not gonna lie, I probably DID log 100+ hours in this game back in the day between the Saturn and PC ports. I can understand games this simple not necessarily being everyone's thing -- and yeah, that 100 hours ACHIEVEMENT is ridonk -- but I'm very, very tempted to pick this up for my Switch just to re-experience one of my favorite 5th-gen games of all time.
This game perfectly illustrates why there needs to be another rating above "Complete It" called "Get the Achievements". You completed the game; you just didn't finish the achievement list.
In all fairness, it was a short and simple experience. The game only has a few hours of actual completion time followed by over 90 hours of idling on the title.

I think the developers should seriously consider rescinding that stupid time wasting trophy, but I know I know, no one EVER does "take backs" on terrible trophies in games through updates.
lmao, the Binging with Babish skit at the intro. I love it & yeah, as a remake is good but pretty barebones for the price of admission gotta love that Panzer Dragoon mix of Aquatic Amiance tho
...You know damn, I had always thought it'd be neat for Saga to get a remaster, but that was back when I thought it was a traditional sequel like the first game, Orta, and Zwei. The thought of that fantastic RPG getting all the bells and whistles reworked...lord that just gave me such a deep hunger now.
Suddenly I want to see a TOVG-produced rail shooter game where Jirard rides a dragon and the progression is like Star Fox 64. The perfect confluence of all things Completionist!
It's a great game and I honestly don't mind the price tag too much (I've played many indie games that were pretty short and didn't mind their price) but that Lifeless trophy is absurd. That sort of trophy shouldn't be in any game, let alone a game that you can otherwise 100% in less than a tenth of the time Lifeless expects you to spend playing Panzer Dragoon.
Panzer Dragoon 2 on the saturn does get into some of that alternate-route fun. But, this overlall looks like a very very authentic to the original remake.
I love this game, but yeah 100 hrs is overkill. It's an early Saturn game and I think it also suffers a bit from "First in a Series" syndrome. I wish they'd included some QoL improvements, like maybe the burst fire of Orta that shoots a few bullets automatically instead of needing to fire individual shots or locking automatic fire behind cheats. Hopefully the rest of the series winds up better for you.

...You know damn, I had always thought it'd be neat for Saga to get a remaster, but that was back when I thought it was a traditional sequel like the first game, Orta, and Zwei. The thought of that fantastic RPG getting all the bells and whistles reworked...lord that just gave me such a deep hunger now.
Oooh that intro was awesome!
Suddenly I want to see a TOVG-produced rail shooter game where Jirard rides a dragon and the progression is like Star Fox 64. The perfect confluence of all things Completionist!
lol that binging with babish intro was the best
Did you just... DRAGON RIDER!!! YOU MAD MAN
Banging with Bibish intro mate
Id never heard of this game till today and suddenly its everywhere
Good timing, the game is on sale now for 6.24 bucks on the Switch Store!
That analogy at the start was really good ngl
That intro was great!
Panzer Dragoon Saga is the RPG which mixes with shooter elements. It's definitely good, but no FF7 killer.
Love that babish bit at the start btw
Panzer Dragoon 2 on the saturn does get into some of that alternate-route fun. But, this overlall looks like a very very authentic to the original remake.
Very much so. It even plays the prologue twice like the original.
Silly Jirard, Charizard’s a fire flying type! Love you though!
