Thrunite TH20 vs. Fenix HL23: Head-to-Head AA Battery Showdown | Lighter Than The TH10

- The Thrunite TH20 is newer to the market and it's a AA headlamp that (if you use 14500 batteries - which it also takes) will give you over 500 lumens of light (520 to be exact). For a light that is so small and light-weight, that is quite the deal. In this video we put it up against the Fenix HL23 which - in many cases - does quite well. But the Thrunite offers more power, is more comfortable, and offers you the 'infinity loop' so you can set it at whatever lumen output you want from .3 up to 250 lumens (with 520 lumens being the turbo setting). Anyhow, the Fenix did well but in my opinion, the Thrunite wins the day. Check it out.

The subtitle said 10440 (AAA size) battery in beginning of the video at 1:15. This light needs a 14500 (AA size) which you did state near the end.
make sure to report these as spam guys
Just ordered that thurnite head light, going to use it on my hard hat for work.
I have the TN20 running on AA, but I have some 14500 milliamp batteries on order. I'm a big fan of ThruNite Torches...I have six for various applications.
14500 is the size of the battery (14 mm diameter x 50 mm long). They are usually about 750 milli-amp hours capacity if you get a good brand. Hopefully you didn't by Ultrafire or some other cheap brand. I originally made that mistake. The cheap ones are cheap for a reason. They have about 1/3 the capacity of good batteries if you're lucky.
I just wish the ThruNite would have a red lens cover for night as I like to fish at night...The ThruNite is awesome...
That can easily be rigged... Just get some red cellophane and attach it to the lens... Problem solved.
Eddie O yep and it worked...He made a piece from a 20 oz. coke bottle and it works great...
Fenix wins hands down (with regular batteries) Thrunight excels better with the upgraded battery.
I know its an old post, better is subjective. I prefere a wider hotspot on smaller headlamp, so thrunite wins hands down (for me)
150 lumens vs. 500...aaaaaand thrunite wins.. :( idk man. its just not fair..then to say towards the middle that theyre both comfortable but towads the end a comfort issue is another point towards thrunite. just screams paid advertisement. reviews like this are so biased and piss me off. Making people feel like they should spend more when its not even a fair comparison. smh
I take it that you own the Fenix? It's a 29 dollar light bud, 5 bucks cheaper than the Fenix.
This is all it takes to tick you off......well alrighty then.
If i get 2 th20s i can put 2 on one headband and have even more light :)
For the most part, I like the way Thrunite does things, but I despise the way they suppress information about their lights. If you contact their CS they give you the run around and if you keep pressing they get snarky. There is no excuse for that.
I just wish Thrunite would come up with a more original design rather then making lights that are sooooo similar.
