little fact about this episode is that when yang was catching food in her mouth, she was originally trying to show weiss and blake that she could tie a cherry-stem in her mouth but it got scrapped last minute. you could still see the animation in a way when she says "kick my semesters off with a "yang".

It's not Magnetism, it's polarity!! She gives metal, ANY metal, a charge and she can control it. Real world Magnetism wouldn't work on Aluminum, but that can't be applied to Pyrrha, a fictional character who's power is NOT magnetism, but Polarity. And if people call it the same thing? It's not. They are similar, but not the same!!
Glad you guys are enjoying RWBY at your own pace. Just ignore the guys who want you to rush. I'm really glad you like the series so far
Couple of tips regarding other RWBY videos:
1. Although there is a Death Battle of Yang vs Tifa, don't react to that until you guys finish Volume 2 as it does have spoilers
2. Now that you guys are in Volume 2, there are World of Remnant videos that Rooster Teeth makes that are normally 3-4 mins long that provide more information on the lore/backstory on the world such as Grimm, Semblances, Dust....etc You can watch them either in order or whenever you feel like watching them.
3. The Vytal Festival ,as mentioned in Volume 1, will bring more students from the other schools to Beacon so that's why Sun and the new guy(I'm not sure if you heard his name so I'm not going to tell you that) are hanging around until it starts.
4. Just have fun with RWBY. It's really enjoyable so there's no need to rush. Keep up the good work.
Only thing you missed was, in the beginning, Mercury Called the girl with white jeans: Emerald. Thats her name

The reason why those 2 kids are at Beacon is because of the Vytal Festival mentioned in Volume 1 Chapters 11, 15, and 16. If you recall, all the Academies are visiting and most likely attending Beacon this year for the Vytal Festival Tournament.
I like that when Emerald asks about "The Thief and the Butcher". She is actually referring to herself and Mercury.
Red vs Blue Reference: I believe he was some sort of cat. What? Like a Puma? Yeah, there you go!
Regarding the food you are not alone in forgetting, out of 10 reactors watching this, 9-10 forget about Chapter 6 in Volume 1, i quote Pyrrha: "All of our equipment and tools are conduits for Aura."
"She does have magnetism, except aluminum is not magnetic". And how exactly do you know that their cans are out of aluminum? I get that people compare things to stuff they are familiar with, but RWBY is fiction and their world is nothing like ours, heck they don`t even have things like oil and coal (at least to my knowledge), so maybe aluminum doesn`t even exist.
On another note i`d like to see at least one reaction/discussion about the new intro which was shown at the end of this episode (same with Vol.3 Chapter 1 btw), because unlike many other shows, the intros in RWBY usually have some meaning to them.
You know, I know they do it for a sense of familiarity but why follow the rules of our world in fiction and rather make it's own world with it's own rules. RWBY does this pretty well with the World of Remnant stating the world's rules and what they have accomplished. Still while I haven't thought about it too deeply, I really should think of rules for the world when coming up with ideas since it pretty much breaks from the stereotypical world.
Technically, aluminum is magnetic. Just not nearly as much as iron. Water is magnetic. There’s a video out there of a frog being suspended mid-air by a super-powerful magnet.
Everything is magnetic to a degree, but only certain metals and alloys are magnetic enough to react to the magnets we can make here on Earth. She'd have to be Insanely powerful, she could probably rip all of the microscopic traces of metal out of a person's body, killing them almost instantly. She really should've made better use of that ability.
Her semblance isn’t magnetism, it’s polarity, which gives ANY metal magnetism and then can manipulate it

So Aura is basically a force field protecting them, so I always presumed they just extended it to cover the food which was why it was so durable. Anyways, I love the Team CASE thing in the back.

Worst part of watching these reviews is realizing I have to wait another week to watch the next one.
At the end of the day, I have been through a similar food war in 2011.
The entire school, here in Scotland, managed to spread it around without the teachers getting word of it, 1,200 kids tho.
We saved our lunch money and bought out all the stock on the lunch break the day prior combined.
Flour, eggs, water balloons, bread, anything messy and throwable.
The next day, chaos ensued. The bad teachers tried to stop it but the many cool ones returned fire with anything they could get.
Mr Mackay (Mac i pronounced an not the South Park dude) Went off to his car where, he had water guns for his kids still in there, handed them out to the cool teachers filled with FREEZING COLD WATER and began blasting.
The entire school got away with it tho, cause otherwise everyone would have been suspended.
It was such a good day.
The puma joke was a reference to one of Rooster Teeth's other series, Red vs. Blue. The Blues (and Grif) mentioned it looking like a Puma.

I watch this episode three times and the first time I watch a reaction of it I finally notice the RvB reference "What, like a puma?" I'm ashamed of myself
The reason the food holds up so well in the fight is mention by pyrrha, when she talk to Jaune in the Forrest. she mention how arua is transfer to the weapon they use, they become the conduits(sp?). they are still food after all so they still break, just not easily.
Also, with the whole "aluminum isn't magmatic" issue: how do you know it's made from aluminum? They could make cans from something else in their world. (Also, her power is polarity, not magnetism, so it might not matter what metal it is)
the conduits part reminds me of FATE series, in it the characters can use mana to power up anything they touches.

Just so you know. At this point in the story, students from other schools and by extension from other kingdoms are going to Vale for the Vytal festival, which is why Sun is currently at Beacon.
Aluminum isn't affected by magnetism, but I'm old enough to remember soda cans were once made of metal/tin. Even so this is a fantasy world so anything is possible...we need to always remember that with this show. Awesome watching you guys reacting to this series. =)

The reason why the food was able to hold up so well in the fight is because of their Aura. As Pyrrha said back in volume one, Hunters channel their Aura into their equipment, lending it the same durability and enhanced strength that they possess. While "equipment" normally means weapons like Crescent Rose, Myrtenaster, Gambol Shroud, Ember Celica, Crocea Mors, Magnhild, Miló and Akoúo̱, or Storm Flower (RWBY and JNPR's weapons, respectively)... other objects will do in a pinch.
Sun's at Beacon because a tournament between all the academies in every kingdom is being held in Vale soon so the students from the other academies are staying at Beacon.

you guys should do the world of remnant videos for volume 1 if you haven't done so already. It gives background details and information on how the world of Remnant works it will give you guys a bigger understanding of whats going on during the actual show, they're not entirely needed for the show but it's a bonus.

Penny's backpack has the same properties as a certain someone's mask. Disappears and reappears at random times 😋
Thankfully, the mask was fixed in the DVD, so at least they cared enough to do that.
Also, the backpack was there in the fight scene. It's just a very small backpack, so you can barely see it unless Penny is positioned it a way you can see the lump. xD

Aluminium is still magnetic. All metal is magnetic, the magnetic metals were used to are only ferromagnetic, but all metals fall into 1 of 6 categories.

Good thing about RWBY is that the blue ray's don't cost that much for all volumes. I saw volume one on sale for ten bucks so I got it.
Yup upside of it being made by both Rooster Teeth and an American Company (which I guess it's the same thing really) even here in Canada the price for DVD or Blu-ray is like $20.00 with tax which isn't bad at all.
especially since I buy everything I like on DVD and with anime (in general) are pretty much at the least $50 or so.

The volumes are arcs in the season, kinda like Jaune. These first volumes combine to make season one.
