My husky is 5 months old and she always bites hard on my arms and legs and jumps on my legs like they are poles and leave big scratches on them. My legs and arms are covered in scratches and bruises. When I’m sitting on the couch, she suddenly jumps up and bites me really hard out of nowhere. I tried screeching “ouch!” and used a low voice to tell her to stop but she wouldn’t. She continued biting hard and it hurt so bad that I couldn’t even do anything but cry. Even when I cried she wouldn’t stop. When it hurt so bad I had to hold on to my husky’s scruff and pulled her away and then immediately ran to a high chair so she couldn’t reach me. After a while, she laid down and I thought it was safe to come back to the couch so I did and made sure to have a chew toy besides me. When she noticed I was back on the couch, she got up from laying down and jumped on the couch to bite me again. I gave her the toy and she did chew on it for a little but then resumed targeting my arm. I even tried giving her treats but the moment there was no more she went back to biting me. She even bites me from behind. When I was washing the dishes, she jumped up and held onto my legs, leaving big scratches, and then bit my calf real hard. I’m running out of solutions... yelling ouch, whining, crying low voice, redirecting... I’ve tried them all but it does nothing to her. I even tried taking her for a walk but after she’s rest up after the walk, she bites me again. She bites me the most (and probably only me) in the family. She listens to my parents most of the time and doesn’t really bite them much. I’m gonna try rubbing lime on my arms but I’m not sure if it will work or I’ll just have sticky arms as a result. I was wondering if this biting problem will calm down as she grows up. She has stopped biting walls and furniture but the only thing she loves to bite on is my body. I love her and she wants to pet and play with her but it makes me sad that she keeps biting me anytime I touch her or get close to her for too long.
That could be a respect issue. Maybe your best option is to look into ways you can show more dominance over the dog and make sure he knows he's below you in the pack order

y'all try crating your husky immediately when he displays unwanted behavior, and let him out once he's calm. if he bites again after you get him out, crate him again. keep doing it over and over until he makes the connection that biting is resulting in him being removed from the fun of the game / situation. this works just like how you would walk away and remove yourself from the play once your puppy starts biting, but in this case you remove the puppy not yourself. I believe either way will work because for my husky puppy both worked to minimize the biting issue but the method of removing the puppy itself has actually worked the fastest. the method where you only remove yourself will work in a house where it's only you and your puppy, it's not an easy and fast method for a family household as the puppy gets distracted from the other family members and he learns to bite people in the house selectively this way. like in my case he would stop biting me because I was being dominant over him with my ways of training him not to bite me but he would go bite my brother because he doesn't do anything to teach the puppy that he's the alpha and not the puppy. so my puppy knows not to bite me but will bite other people in my house that he's comfortable with. to minimize this behavior even further I crate him even when he goes on to bite other people too and that's made him a lot better at not biting anyone at this point. some info: I have a 3 month old husky mix (white canadian shepherd & siberian husky) and he's hard to handle ever since he came home at almost 7 weeks. he bites but not to the point that could injure. if we get injured it's because we pulled our hand / foot away when his teeth were on it, he didn't cause the injury himself and he never intends to injure he just asks for attention and play bites. he has his moments where we try to pick him up and he's reaching to bite our hands tho. but that's also because he thinks we're playing. the redirection method has worked only a lil bit with him, there is definitely progress with that method but when he gets overstimulated he can't be stopped and no toy is enough for him and we didn't know what to do with him for a while because of this, until we got our dog trainer. our dog trainer told us to crate him whenever bad behavior occurs, so now when he jumps to bite or bites us in any circumstance we pick him up and put him into the crate (he's too young to understand to go in the crate by himself and he's also reluctant to do so because he doesn't like being enclosed in spaces but he does very well at night in his crate. he also stays calm there during the day even when we are around but that was achieved after many days of training him that we won't get him out until he calms down so he calms down way faster now). putting him in the crate every time he displays bad behavior such as biting, jumping, and bothering people in general has worked amazingly for us since the 1st day we started this (a week ago). he actually doesn't bite or pull pants, socks & shoes off of a person now. he mostly just jumps out of his excitement but that's it, no more biting. he rarely bites now actually like the behavior has diminished so much within just a week of practicing this. it's not bad to crate your dog for unwanted behavior! and I repeat,,,, our dog trainer told us to do this. I think it's gonna work on most dogs tbh it's a very effective method. try it!
just got mine 2 weeks ago and i already got him to sit and wait till i put the food on the floor and when i say go he goes and eats but I CANNOT get him to stop bitting i will try this today
As much as I love the idea of not pulling back or redirecting with positive reinforcement only, my ripped up hands may not agree. Redirection works fine a lot of the times, but sometimes it's other factors, such as over stimulation or exhaustion, which leads to much more aggressive bites. I understand they're not intended to be, but there's no way i'm just going to sit still, as my tired husky shark launches at my hands for whatever reason, and just shove a toy in its mouth. We've started to implement the time out method if the biting is no longer playful, and that's literally the ONLY thing that has helped ever so slightly, combined with training of course. Puppies are WILD haha
bite back. not with your mouth, just with your hand. Make every bite end with them trying to pry their maw AWAY from you because its uncomfortable for them how you responded. Either upper or lower mandible, squeeze the inside of the mouth, don't let go until they're pulling away unhappy. If you're going to get the nicks anyway may as well make them count as a lesson. Works with licking too, grab the tongue, don't let go.
Just got a 8 week old husky puppy and yes my hands look like I put it into a tiny shark tank, definitely going to work on this with our little Alpha boy, wish us luck! 🤦🏻♀️😭🙏🏼🐾🤞🏼

This has been very helpful. My little tan and white huskereroni pupper likes to nip cheeks and chins when she's excited, I started putting a toy in her mouth whenever she does this and it's working... slowly. Huskies are such an incredible breed.
Three days ago my fiance and me buy a 3 month old siberian husky and she is nipping everything and all part of the body. We really wanna try this training. 💖
Great video sweetie, just saw a 10 week old shepherd pup for adoption in a dogshelter here...reason why it was in it? It was biting...so sad, everyone should watch your channel before getting a dog😂🐾🐺🐶🐾
I own a Shepsky puppy, I tried the Shepard training way it didn't work on her, but since I used to own Shepard's years ago the training is different. I've never owned a husky, and my pup acts more like a husky than a Shepard, so this video is really helping me understand her behavior. She's a very energetic, happy pup, and extremely smart. I'm so glad I found this video lol
Lucky! That just made my pup bite harder! Also the toy thing..she would mainly just ignore the toys and keep going after my hands!! Once she gets focused on something she doesn't stop! The only thing that worked for me was getting up and walking away and leaving the room. Even now at 7 months old she STILL bites when she has alot of energy and gets crazy but its definetly play biting even though she gets a bit rough. She does do it WAY less often then she used to thankfully though. Idk how to get her to stop all together though!! She has all of her adult teeth now so they arent nearly as sharp but she is so strong so it doesn't feel good!
Just got my puppo yesterday and I'm nervous to train him. I hopenI can build a good relationship with him. BRB gonna train him now lol. ❤ Thanks Hila and britney!
@@chuyj.r8414 Everything is great. My little boy will be turning 3 next month and he’s the sweetest puppy I could ever ask for. Of course the biting stage was there but we were able to overcome it. I bought him a lot of toys that he can chew on safely and let me tell you that patience is the key. Also always be alert on what your puppy will be doing so that you can enforce the training of not biting on to things that he or she shouldn’t.

Just got my husky pup. Hes 6 weeks old. 3rd day at home and the biting fest has just begun. Im applyin all of your tips but hes too young so i just have to be patient. The biggest problem now is that hes with diarrhea since he got here. Any tips or advice? Im taking him to the vet tomorrow. Keep it up with the great job! Cheers from Brazil
Arthur Stuart Let’s start with the bigger issue, u shouldn’t have ur pup at 6 weeks! That’s still too young to be away from mum and their siblings this is where they learn a lot of skills at that age x
My husky is 4 months old he just bites everything , he even bites other puppies and cats , whenever I try to pet him he starts biting , he’s just never tired of doing it !
I have a 15 week old yorkie puppy and he bites so much it's brutal. And yes it hurts.. a lot. I try toys all the time but he would rather bit flesh. Arms hands feet. It's really frustrating. Everyone is being really patient with him. I hope he grows out of it :(
So, we just got a siberian husky puppy on last friday, and she's already 75% potty trained and sleeps in her cage. However, she does have some trouble following commands. Should we put her in training after she becomes about 3 or 4 months old?
I have a husky mix German shepherd puppy and he won’t stop bitting my feet or my pants my daughter she 4 and she kinda scared of the puppy! First time owner what can I do to stop it?
What's working for me is just to "bite back" with my fingers by grabbing their mandible or muzzle, and making EVERY bite a negative experience for them, nothing mean just nothing fun, always unpleasant. This worked for previous puppy breeds who wouldn't stop licking, just grabbing their tongue and not letting go so they are not engaging but are trying to retreat every time. After a few days of every bite ending up with the dog trying to get my hand OUT of his mouth because it sucks and is uncomfortable, he's now a licker 90% of the time where he was a licker 0% of the time a few days ago. And yeah you have to be able to will-away the pain while the conflict is going, those teeth are very sharp and you may have a few nicks, but you can accelerate this away with negative reinforcement. Obviously not near as easy to do with kids and family.
Has your huskies ever bit you to the point where your finger is bleeding? I have a 11 month old Siberian husky and I was playing with her and she normally play bites buts she been biting me enough where my finger is bleeding.
I have a question I have a little husky German Shephard mix and I was wondering what the height and weight should be it’s a girl and her birthday is on January 3rd so she is like 3months old.
I just recued 13 week old male. He's supposed to be siberian husky/german shepherd mix. He tries to bite my hand when I grab his collar to put the leash on. And if u try to bath him he bites. How can I stop this?
I am picking up a 5 1/2 month old female Husky tonight and I have a 10yr old female German Shepard. I was wondering if you have any advice for this introduction?
Congratulations! Use supervision at all times. Keep an eye on them and make sure they aren’t resource guarding. Biggest cause of fights. Don’t introduce toys until there friendly.
Thanks Sixty, Another great video. This one has helped. Got Cola fixed this past Saturday so been patient with her daily exercises, but have noticed her biting has increased since then. Cannot wait to get this inner tube off her neck! Big Problem: We have rabbits by the hundreds on our property and I am sure she is eating their poop. Should I be uptight about this? Also should I give her the option of sleeping in my bed with me or keep her in her kennel next to my bed at night? I know you have thousands of followers so any feedback is grateful. One last thing. What do you give your guys for fleas/ticks. My ex wife swears by Bravecto, but I tend to want to keep her on Anvantix 11. She is going on 7 months old and we have had her since she was 7 weeks.
Thank you so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Your support means the world to us, thank you so much! I wouldn't be too worried about the poop eating, however you can stop it with a bit of training. It probably isn't good over a long period of time, but little nibbles now and then isn't going to be harmful.
I’m very patient with my 9 month old husky puparoni, sometimes..... he does still bite but only when he’s excited or if we bother him. Is it a normal thing for trained huskies? Some tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
Ohmygod thank you I needed this 🥺😂😂😂 Alsoooo i was wondering how can u get their dog smell to not be so bad, any good dog shampoo recommendations? Thank you for everyone who replied to this :))
If it's a siberian husky generally they shouldn't smell unless they're wet, my husky Luna doesn't really have that "dog smell" but chi dog shampoo is really good! :)
So beautiful these 2 Husky babies, you can feel the love you have and care you have taken to teach good behavior, that is what I am hoping for my Meka girl what do you think about the perimeter collar so the dog on acreage doesn’t want to escape? Mine is fenced but their are still spots along the fence where loose dogs have tried to get in.
What if I can’t put anything in the mouth? I have a two month old Husky pupper and she has needles for teeth! Seems like she doesn’t understand yet that it hurts when she chews me 😂😂😂
On top of my hands, my puppy husky also nips at my feet when im walking/sitting....even if i try to ignore him biting hands or feet he doesnt care, still bites. Tried going “ouch!” Also and he just wants to rip it to shreds! And no dont jerk it away...

Did the timeout method combined with your training work?
the background music with the saxophone is sick 🤟🏻
I really like CBD from Weedborn.
My wife and I finally get to pick up our husky puppies and 6 days super excited

Just got a 8 week old husky puppy and yes my hands look like I put it into a tiny shark tank, definitely going to work on this with our little Alpha boy, wish us luck! 🤦🏻♀️😭🙏🏼🐾🤞🏼

This has been very helpful. My little tan and white huskereroni pupper likes to nip cheeks and chins when she's excited, I started putting a toy in her mouth whenever she does this and it's working... slowly. Huskies are such an incredible breed.
Omg super thank u! Ps: I love ur voice
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate the nice words, it means everything to us!
My husky is 6 months now I rescued him his biting isn’t as bad anymore
Three days ago my fiance and me buy a 3 month old siberian husky and she is nipping everything and all part of the body. We really wanna try this training. 💖
Great video sweetie, just saw a 10 week old shepherd pup for adoption in a dogshelter here...reason why it was in it? It was biting...so sad, everyone should watch your channel before getting a dog😂🐾🐺🐶🐾
My mom uses CBD treats for her pug. Helps with her dog while walking and behaving. Helps with anxiety when they leave the the house
Very cool! Thank you so much for sharing, this is going to help everyone out in the community here! Much appreciation!
Great vid sixty!!!
Thank you so much for watching! Glad you liked it!

With my first I just gave a fake yelp like it was hurting me and pretty much got him to stop in 2 or 3 days
Thank you so much for watching and sharing!
Hey it’s been 2 years now how has it been ?
@@chuyj.r8414 Everything is great. My little boy will be turning 3 next month and he’s the sweetest puppy I could ever ask for. Of course the biting stage was there but we were able to overcome it. I bought him a lot of toys that he can chew on safely and let me tell you that patience is the key. Also always be alert on what your puppy will be doing so that you can enforce the training of not biting on to things that he or she shouldn’t.
@@caseylover023 thank you so much for the advice, I’m getting a puppy next week from a friend I just didn’t get it yet because I wanted the puppy to still drink milk from the mom and afterwards when he’s able to eat I’ll take him (: idk if I should get 1 or all 6 of them haha

My puppy is a husky mix and he does bite a ton and I’ve tried the toy thing but with every single toy he spits it out and goes back to my hand. I’ve also tried the no pulling away thing and he just chews on my arm for such a long time I have to pull away. I’m struggling 🥺
We just got our 2 month old pup husky here yesterday.even now there is no space already for a new scratches and bite marks in my feet and my hands😂😭

Thank you! I really needed this video.
I have a huskypoo, and I tried the method of letting him just bite my hand and I just left it there to be boring. It didn't work haha

Did he stop biting on other pups n cats? If so what did you do to make him stop?
Thx for the Tips👍🏽🐕
Thank you for making this video
I have a 15 week old yorkie puppy and he bites so much it's brutal. And yes it hurts.. a lot. I try toys all the time but he would rather bit flesh. Arms hands feet. It's really frustrating. Everyone is being really patient with him. I hope he grows out of it :(
I just had my finger and lip almost torn off by my pup. Wish I found this this morning
I just bought a husky puppie his name is loki i will try this training my terrier died last week rip baily ❤

So, we just got a siberian husky puppy on last friday, and she's already 75% potty trained and sleeps in her cage. However, she does have some trouble following commands. Should we put her in training after she becomes about 3 or 4 months old?
What's your take on huskies hand holding (mouthing) should I stop it or not my boy does it but never hurts anyone
I have a husky mix German shepherd puppy and he won’t stop bitting my feet or my pants my daughter she 4 and she kinda scared of the puppy! First time owner what can I do to stop it?
I got my own puparoni pizza and her teeth hurt! Shes 11 weeks old yesterday!
Thank you for this it helped me a lot
So happy we can help. Thank you for watching!
How is that not reinforcing that they will get a treat for biting your hand?

Got Cola fixed
this past Saturday so been patient with her daily exercises, but have noticed
her biting has increased since then. Cannot wait to get this inner tube off her
neck! Big Problem: We have rabbits by the hundreds on our property and I am sure
she is eating their poop. Should I be uptight about this? Also should I give her the option
of sleeping in my bed with me or keep her in her kennel next to my bed at night? I know you
have thousands of followers so any feedback is grateful. One last thing. What do you give your
guys for fleas/ticks. My ex wife swears by Bravecto, but I tend to want to keep her on Anvantix 11. She
is going on 7 months old and we have had her since she was 7 weeks.
I have a siberian husky pup and he likes to bite of the screen of my screen door and bite my fingers sometimes
Hi thanks for the video

did you do anything and has it worked for it to stop ?
I’m very patient with my 9 month old husky puparoni, sometimes..... he does still bite but only when he’s excited or if we bother him. Is it a normal thing for trained huskies? Some tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
Ohmygod thank you I needed this 🥺😂😂😂
Alsoooo i was wondering how can u get their dog smell to not be so bad, any good dog shampoo recommendations?
Thank you for everyone who replied to this :))
If it's a siberian husky generally they shouldn't smell unless they're wet, my husky Luna doesn't really have that "dog smell" but chi dog shampoo is really good! :)
Soap is working for us
matta hari not a good idea, human soap and shampoo will dry out their skin, you should always use products designed for pets.
Usually a dog doesn't have a bad smell if your dog smell bad I would recomend you brushing it's hair more frecuetly
LunaTheHusky thank you
I deadass got a husky puppy and watch 509+ videos but my ace bites
