I got a husky and he name is yuki and he’s 7 weeks old he hates he’s cage and he likes the to find a way to get through the gate and when he does he poops in the other room he likes to bite a lot but he is adorable.
So, no different to any puppy then. Just like my Labrador and german shepherd.😁I've lost net curtains, scratched floors socks, boxers, glassware, a dozen soft toys, a dozen balls, furniture legs chewed on, and carpet stained with wee. Worth it.
I've had my husky for 3 years now. They are different than other breeds. They need allot of attention and exercise. 100% worth it though. Huskies are great dogs.
16 years that is amazing. I had one Labrador and one retriever and both of them were 10 and 9 years old and both passed away in 2019 and 2021. They both were good friends so when my Labrador passed away 😢 😔 my retriever lost all the charm he had for next 2 years. It is really tough 😪 to get over the loss of dog brothers ( I liked to call them brothers) with whom you have spend most of your teenhood and adulthood.
I had a n eurasier, such a fantastic dog, now i will have a malamute , hope things will go well and have a great experience. Perhaps i will go for a husky later... ^^
Huskies are hands down the most difficult puppies. They’re the such amazing dogs as adults, and having that bonding experience of puppyhood ends up being so worth it. 🥰
We have reason to suspect that the Husky we adopted was dumped because he was such a handful. He was what is referred to as an 11th hour dog. The pound that was holding him couldn't get him adopted and was ready to have him put down. Long story short, we fostered him so he wasn't put down. 1 year later and someone offered to adopt him. During that time the little monkey somehow bonded with me. Since I feared for his welfare if if he ended up in a bad situation I adopted him. Yes, he's still a handful, always up to something, needs lots of work and he's still a monkey, but he's my monkey. I didn't want to get a dog and I knew a husky was hard work but now I can't see not having him. I saved him and he returned the favour, 10 fold.
@@akamaster09 It’s true that most behavioral issues come from a lack of stimulation and training. Husky pups require a LOT of stimulation and training - hence why I called them “difficult.” 😆 Working out is also “difficult.” That doesn’t mean it’s bad. 😉
@@Ihearturmomfrl Very nice, my 13 years old stafford terrier killed my other dog, unable to get vaccinated from rabies because hes very aggresive and he attacked atleast 3 people in past month. I need a calm dog.
It’s well worth the patience and dedication that they require.. once they get out of the puppy stage (although they will always be puppies at heart) they’re the most sweet, loyal, and energetic dogs. Keep up the great work you’re gonna love Leo when he’s older ♥️
This was a nice reminder as to how blessed I was with my husky. Got him at 6 weeks old, and apart from a few times when sick, he only had an accident in the house the night I brought him home. No issues crate training. Never barked. Never chewed anything up. Totally hated baths, though.
Any tips on potty training outside, EG. how to get my husky to use it quickly after going outside? how to get my husky to know only to use it outside and not inside anymore , thank you
Omg my older husky who’s almost two is perfect as well! He was fast to train, never chewed on the house or anything but his toys. He does love to tear up dryer sheets but that’s it. He had a biting issue but that stopped a few months ago And now he’s just a good boy. Got a new puppy over a month ago and oh boy! He’s similar to this video but not as destructive. He climbs over everything while the older one will never dare! He’s a handful compared to my older one.
We got a husky puppy at 10 weeks of age. Surprisingly it took me 2 days to get him used to a large crate where he wouldn't complain. Biting is normal but I tackled that first to redirect his urges to toys. He learned the sit command in 1 day. He's extra fluffy, and very smart.
How did you manage to redirect with toys? My 5month old (got him a few days ago) will just drop the toy immediately and go for a hand again or the arm):
ALL DOGS are alot of work ...alot of work. The key is to learn the species. You have a working dog...they will require work and activities. If he tears things up...hes bored and anxious.. You seem adventurous...so thats a good start. Keep it up and study his species more...it will give you insight and help save your things. Former Bullie owner
Yes, as beautiful and as smart as they are. They require a lot of patience and care. We've had our beautiful girl for 10 years. They become more settled and not as destructive the older they get, but the experience of having a 4 legged Houdini with attitude that talks more than she barks, and sheds like a winter wonderland, is worth their loyalty and companionship.
I was a terrible tornado when i was a puppy and drove my hooman mad. But now when im older (1year 8 months) im really calm and cool. Just hang in there hooman, it will be fine!
Oh boy, my 3yr old husky taught me patience through a broken full length mirror, torn 3 day old headphones, messy room (i mean lots of slippers gone and chewed off doors) and a few months of sleepless nights potty training when he was still a pup.. now he feels like my police dog bec hes VERY protective of me, sleeps like theres no tomorrow and does zoomies... never had a dog like him, takes a lot of work but u get a whole lot of love! Perfect stress reliever!
@@LifeWithSnowDogs Hi, have you watched Keyesh the stunt dog and Sherpa TH-cam channel, there huskies that talk a lot and give great tips on training and looking after a husky. Worth a look.
My husky puppy is about to turn seven months and oh my this video is so much her! Except she also only does tricks when she wants to or if she thinks you have food. She's a tornado around the place. But they are absolutely worth it. I love her so much, no matter how bratty she is!
I have two dogs and I got my puppy when my older dog was 7 years old. I wouldn't say they're as close as yours but my older dog has learned to love the puppy in his own unique way. He's sets the house rules and makes sure the puppy follows it but they enjoy each other's company but there is a clear hierarchy between them. Its rather amazing to see. Buddies for life.
I love huskies.I've had a couple over the years. We had the same problem with them getting over a fence, they can jump over them if they want to.I saw mine jump over a 3-1/2 ft fence.Make sure they get plenty of exercise. You raise them right they will always be there for you and protect you.
My Sieberian Husky just turned ten...she once chewed a leather sofa and loveseat...among other things...but there's nothing like the bond and love that snowdogs bring to your pack...I would not trade one second of the last ten years...best of luck with your new baby...❤
Just remember, all: Huskies have ALL the energy! Walks/ runs/ dogpark visits/ doggie doors out to a yard/ etc. are all that stand between you and either a freakin' hurricane of energy destroying everything in it's path or, even worse, a depressed pup. I still feel for the girl my lil brother had when he was still at home who didn't get as many runs as she wanted and ended up stressed/ nervous with inside accidents; we should have let her take us out more often for both her mental health and our own...
They slow down over time. Heartbreaking. My husky is about to hit double digits in age and isn't as energetic as she used to be. Got real lazy over the last few years. We got another pup to help keep her mind sharp and it's helped, but she's still just getting old.
Huskies are awesome! I work with dogs and love how vocal they are. Bulldogs are also vocal, I always put them together so they can talk to one another. Let me tell you, it's hilarious and we live for days like that. May not be glamorous, but the best job in the world. Who doesn't want to play with dogs all day!
I'm 1 week into my new Husky and oh boy it's been one hell of a ride, the crate, maintaining a schedule and always being on top of her has been the most helpful things throughout the whole training process. If you're consistent and enforce your schedule it gets easier with time. Expect a lot of fuss and demon summoning screams\chants.
This is a great video. My husky just turned 4 months. I got her at 7wks and she's definitely is making me work! Although she has learned a few tricks like "sit, paw, and down" and is doing well with potty training (besides a few accidents here and there), I am excited about puppy training that she will start on Monday. Like you, I as well LOVE bedtime now 😄, 10 pm and she is out! My other dog and I are so looking forward to her outgrowing her puppy stage for now.
Haha no way! That’s so fun, I thought I was ready for puppy stage to be over but now I miss his puppy days so much!! Enjoy them while you can 🥰 good luck with training!!
We had 18 years our little husky mix. He had all the characteristics of a husky. This breed is very smart never wants to be kept in a cage or room. Obeys but you have to be able to lead, which means you need to learn how to lead. If not your house and furniture will suffer. We learned it was our fault not his. They need lots of exercise, which is around three hours a day. It is a commitment and as intensive as raising a child. Bathing time is not easy, but over the years he knew there was no other way. Huskies are different and need attention on all levels. Shedding is also something you need to be aware of. However, we loved him even more with all the accidents, hard work, and time you put in.
Raising my Husky from a pup has been an insane experience. I love her like no other, she is still insane. Be ready for one wild experience! They also are very stubborn, require a lot of attention, will back talk you, and require a lot of repetition to teach them. They are also jumpers and climbers. You can’t let them outside alone or they will leave the yard no matter what fence you have. Wouldn’t ever give her up. She is too much fun.
Very cute. Your older dog is a real champ, being good to the new pup. The I learned in the first month of having the wienerdog-mix puppy I found in the Target parking lot was that she liked to chew on my favorite books that were on a lower bookshelf.
Huskies are my favourite dog breed they are so vocal and expressive and will argue with you.And they are over the top drama queens but they are intelligent and very sneaky and bonkers..hehe😂
My last dog was a Husky...and he lived for 12 years. Here are a few things that I learned: 1. He didn't like crates and was destructive when freed. Once we removed from the habit of the crate, the destruction stopped. 2. The first two years (male) were difficult...often tear-filled. Last 10 years, he became the best pet companion ever. 3. He needed lots of exercise. I can not overstate this. Every day...he needed a 2-mile walk minimally. 4. He needed to understand his position in the family pack. The pack leader (you) can not be ambiguous. Although most dogs are like this... Good luck! I miss Yukon almost daily.
@@LifeWithSnowDogs He was a rescue at six months...and originally had the terrible name of Loner. We quickly changed that to Yukon...or he would respond equally to YuKanoba when in trouble, or puppy boy when it was time to play. He was a great dog, and I trust and hope you find as much love and companionship with your Husky.
i just got 1 and havent had any accidents in house, have gate keeping in room im at and he howels when wanting out to do business, ive been blessed it seems, he loves his crate, i put an old sheet over the top and back seems to make him feel secure and whimpers at bottom of stairs when he wants to go to bed
I have an 11 year old husky myself and I remember the puppy time. The only advice I could give when it comes to kennels. Leave them open, Let the dog enter themselves, make it kind of a home. We didn't really close any gates untill the dog was quite confident to sleep in it. I don't think she ever realised when we did lock the gate because it was her nature to when inside the kennel just to relax :)
I've raised my husky since 1 week old bottle fed because she was rejected for being the last of a large litter. And we have used a crate to set her in since she was learning to walk ar 2and half weeks old. We indeed leave it open she always uses it to nap it's her safe place and she is now 9 weeks old I've been potty training since 4 and we are still getting there but aonly accidents 1 a day and they are my fault gor not gearing her wake up ahsvveibg +
My husky cross is simply amazing really hard work .we go on our daily adventures not walks we play hunting substitution games to stop him chasing .he's such fun and I'm so proud of him but trust me when I say his energy levels are unbelievable .I don't know what I'd do without him x
I have had a husky for 10plus years, initially I read plenty on how to have a husky and happy surrounds, and to be honest I am blessed, with plenty of training (no Crete) and repeated commands and same language/words my husky has been absolutely a dream, potty training easy, only a few mistakes inside, if anything chewing was the biggest problem that we focused on with repealed commands "leave it" treat..etc etc...spending plenty of time with him, exercise every day and wholesome fresh food diet...I would absolute have another husky!!! Good luck hes soooo cute...
Theyre craziness is manageable. I have an 8 yr female and just got a male pup hes 10 weeks now. He house trained in about 10 days but i have a good system. If you think you give him enough excersize… you dont… you never will haha they have endless energy but learning how to mentally stimulate them is important so is crate training its almost like dog meditation my girl is incredibly chill so she is def good at setting the tone and helping me out
I just got a husky puppy for my dog because we’ve been wanting to get her a friend for a while and although we weren’t planning on getting a husky at first, they’re a perfect match. I do wish I had done a little more research before bringing him home, because he’s a crazy. His nickname at home is the troublemaker 2000. Haha
I have a husky girl she's 7 years old now when she was young I bought her a lot of rubber squeaky toys stuff that was kind of indestructible to stop her from chewing she did very well and I encourage you to make her be very vocal that way she can tell you what she wants that's how they are and they're very smart dogs and one more thing make sure you got a good vacuum cleaner for when they blow her coat God bless you and God bless your little puppy and your other dog
I'm 4 months in with my 2 husky puppies. About 5 months old now. Man they're a handful! Though I thinks it's better having 2. They entertain each other, so there's less chewing on the house. They're fully vaccinated now and we've started taking walks and going to the dog park. That helps wear them out.
my 2 months old husky krypto is the same omg 😭 i had so much trouble in potty training him. His vet said it gets better as he grows up. Now he started listening to me and does things on my command like sit and wait
what helped my husky in the crate was a toy bunny and a blanket with a round neck pillow, he was 6 weeks but loved it in there with his things, if the crate is boring hell not like it, plus they can bite the cage and get hurt. but there awesome creatures i love him
I have a husky too and when she was little she luckily didn’t touch anything except a bit of wallpaper and sometimes stole my scrunchies we didn’t have her in a crate about potty now she waits for a walk hehe Leo is so cute🤗
Husky's are the houdini's of the dog world.. I've never been able to contain any of my Husky's. Additionally, the only way I've ever been able to train my husky's is not with treats etc (as they quickly get bored of that).. What they seem to hate most is when you separate them from the pack (I.E. you and in your case, your other dog). I never crated any of my Husky's, but what I would do is gently separate them from my (isolate them in the basement etc) for a bit until they would become calm again (no more husky howl to let me out ) and only after giving them ample warnings what they were doing that caused me to isolate them was bad in the first place.. That worked better for me in training "no" than anything else I've ever done. Good Luck. As you are noticing, Husky's are unique which is why I love them so much. Yes, they are beautiful dogs, but the real reason I love them so much is their personalities. Of course you have to get past the stubbornness and escape artistry of them but they are great companions.. Wait until you and he start arguing every day :-)
What a doll! I just got an 8 week old Husky! He is not my first so I am already ready for what is to come. it is true they do need alot of attention and activity! But truly intelligent companions.
I’ve had 2... Good luck LOL! They are beautiful, and loving, and loud, and CRAZY! OMG the FUR! They don’t really calm down until about 7 years of age 💕
I have 2 big macaws who are a handfull soo it doesnt matter anymore for me! Safty is the only thing whats importaint when we get a husky! This vid is very great!! Thanks for that!
As long as you’re really consistent and you start training them immediately you’re going to have a wonderful dog but you must be consistent and you must also recognize that it’s a puppy they’re gonna chew on things because they’re teething and also chewing is a relax method for dogs. They’re gonna pee and poop in the house because they’re little and house training takes time, as far as crate training the only thing I’ve found that works is to put the crate in the room with you when you sleep , they’re generally a lot calmer if you’re in the room with them. I am not any kind of dog expert or trainer, I’ve just had dogs for my entire life
My husky dog helped me to dig a hole on an old tree stump two years ago, now I have a beautiful flowers plant in there. He know how to ring a bell to go pee and poo, but oh boy, the walking is difficult, he launch at anything and everyone that pay attention to him. He never chewed on a single pair of shoes, and neither destroy the house, he chase the cat from time to tim and sometimes he just ignores her, he does shed a lot, A LOT! He is sick and always be, so I love him exactly how he is.
@@waltervega8730 he is behaving better now and his illness is under control, and he tolerates the cat a little bit more that sometimes they can be on the same couch on opposite sides.
Dogs especially working dogs (like a husky) require a lot of exercise and need to kind of let loose. If they don't have an outlet to release their energy (like running around etc) they become restless and start biting and chewing things. That's probably why he destroys stuff
This was sooo cute. I know its well after the fact but when I potty trained my puppy a vet suggested to cover the crate to block out the light. It seems cruel but it cuts down on the outside stimulus which makes them calmer and they sleep a lot at that age anyway. It works well!
Love this video.. it’s so true though. My husky destroyed my coaches and bed when he was little. But now that his 2 years old he is so behaved but they always need lots of attention and care. It was a struggle!! But I love him
Yes this is 100 percent true! We just got our little baby girl red husky and literally the words of this video literally took the words from my brain and into this video 😅🤦🏻♀️ they are so crazy! But also very sweet, funny, and cute and gorgeous! But yeah my favorite time of day is her many naps 😅😂
I have had 2 Huskies and they also were a handful as a puppy, I can tell you. First I had 4 but as they grew older they started to fight more and more for the leadership which is not unusual with Huskies. So I gave one to a nephew of my ex girlfriend and one to a very good friend of mine. Huskies need a lot of long walks preferably 3 times a day, they need to run. If you can do that you won't have any problems with them at home. They are happy when they can run, when they have something to do. If they don't, they tend to be very naughty. I had a lot of fun with my dogs and for me they were the best dogs I ever had.
I want to have a husky someday, these videos are really helpful, i hear in another videos they shed tons of fur, they climb and dig and flee tu run any fence and they run so much they cant find their way back. Also they tend to be noisy with the yellings howlings, and really stuborn dogs.
Huskies are bred for cold climates. They have double fur. Year round hot weather is not the best place for them. It took me 4 years of study to choose a dog to my environment which is how I got my English bullie. Most dogs end up in shelters because owners don't understand the species. Please...please DON'T get a dog because they're pretty. They are ALOT of work in sickness and health. Study the dog and choose according to your lifestyle.
I'm getting a 2 year full huskie rescue dog. He is laid back doesn't destroy things if left alone doesn't dig love his cage although he sleeps with us . Very laid back. He was hit by a car in Texas and the rescue people saw him by the road. Fortunately he had minor enjurys and had a full recovery. Saw him on pet finder were he is living in a foster home. And now permanently with us. He is definitely different from my Sheppard that past away last July. 15year old but he had a good life. Now Blue our new family member is a happy dog with a permanently home so happy ending.
Huskies use to be really hard to adopt because they are so intelligent and high energy. Most people have no clue what they signed up for. Yes they hate water ...look at their coat... plus they like to clean themselves off if given a chance. My family got a husky when I was 5 and even though he destroyed my toys as a pup he was my best friend. Constant running, constant playing, they are serious pack animals! Please train and read up on husky behavior they're not like other dogs. Please think twice before adopting as too many get dropped off at animal shelters for "behavioral issues", which actually is just people not understanding the breed.
Thank you for posting this adorable video. Leo is just handsome! So many huskies end up for adoption after the cute, but demanding puppy stage. I got my boy at 10 months and miss what he may have been like at that age.
@@LifeWithSnowDogs My pup in the pic is 6 1/2 yrs old already! Still with plenty of energy and spunk and sass. They are an incredible breed. My last husky mix girl (who looked like 100% husky) I got from a rescue and she was a therapy dog. Know you will have many great memories with Leo! Would love to have a red husky too! Heck, would love a pack or least three. Enjoy and thanks for reaching out. Will follow you for further videos of these amazing creatures! 💖
Girl tell me about it I have an 11 year old husky and he was a dream of a puppy always calm and respectful and I have a little over a month with my baby girl and EVERYTHING you said is spot on lol she literally came from hell she’s always getting herself Into something I have to have my eyes glued on her 24/7. I am mentally and emotionally drained at this point lol my older dog and I are always trying to get a few minutes away from her but lol the most we get is like 3 minutes because she always finds us 😂
My husky needs 4 hours of running and other activities a day to be happy and relaxed. Huskies are working dogs so they need a lot to do and they don't like to be seperated from family. Nice to see you're hiking with your beautiful dogs. It's a good exercise!
Just for future reference, it’s best to introduce new furry family members outside in the open where they don’t feel closed in or intimidated by having a new dog in their territory. He is definitely a husky through and through! Soooo cute! I had a husky puppy myself and I don’t miss the screaming in the crate at 3 am at all!!
I have a 14 year old border collie I’ve had since she was a puppy. I rescued a one year old German/BC earlier this year, and today I brought home a Husky puppy. Our pack is in a little disarray as we acclimate, but I am so looking forward to the work and companionship to make this little guy part of the family.
Excellent video! I got a female red Husky first and bred her at 1 year, 8 months with a black/white Male Husky. I kept her Black/White daughter who ended up being a giant muscular 65 pounds to moms 42 pounds. Momma Murphey was still the Alpha. Momma died at 13 and Maya is almost 14. Huskies are wonderful dogs, and definitely not for everyone. If you aren't willing to put in the work to give your Husky a wonderful life, don't get a Husky. Get a great vacuum cleaner. If you have carpeting, invest in a good carpet steam cleaner. Huskies are smart, stubborn, loving, escape artists, mischievous, lunatics. This is normal Husky behavior. Buy a collar to train your Husky. But transfer to the harnest for long walks and mushing. By the way, there are only long walks for a Husky. Huskies were bred to go long distances. Huskies have the ability to regulate their metabolism. When other dogs will eventually get tired, a Husky can keep going. A TIRED HUSKY IS A GOOD HUSKY! This means if you don't tire out your Husky, expect damage to be done to your House. Never let your Husky off lease, unless it is in a high fenced area. My red female 42 pound Husky Murphey jumped onto the top and over a 6 foot fence at the Laguna Beach California dog park. I finally caught her a mile away in the hills. Thank God no Coyotes got her. There are videos of Huskies climbing fences over 8 feet tall to escape yards and kennels. Huskies will eat through a wooden fence, dig under any fence, and attempt to climb all fences. YOU NEED TO BE A RESPONSIBLE PERSON TO OWN A HUSKY.
Haha, I got so lucky with Leo- he has such bad separation anxiety that he never runs away. He loves staying near us even when he has the option to run away. However, my previous two huskies loved taking off as much as they could. They’re awesome dogs, just very high energy. I love the “a tired husky is a good husky” for sure!!
From 2 to 20 months huskies are tough, I had the same issue with the crate with my girl, I ended up dedicating a full room for her when I wasn't in. Now she is 3 and she has the whole house, its worth it because they grow out of the chewing, pop some treats in the freezer for him and that will ease his teeth :). I wouldn't change her for anything now.
Jesus, I hate to be negative, but you are doing it all wrong with a husky. If you are gonna crate train him then crate train him. He should spend most of his time in the crate. You get him out and play with him for a few minutes. Then you take him outside and let him do his business. Let him or him and the other dog play outside for a while. He will probably go again. Then bring him in and pet or play with him for 10 minutes or so. Then back in the crate. He will cry but he will learn. You will have to do this about every two hours when you are home. They can stay in the crate for an extra hour for every month they are. 4 months 4 hours. When you have to work...well there is nothing you can really do about that so expect to clean a crate when you get home. If you are training him the whole time you will get to a point that when you bring him in he will go in his crate on his own and you will not even have to close the door. He will stay in there until you tell him he can get out. Never had a husky that this did not work for. Let him know what he can chew on and what he cannot. Never hit your dog. Huskies are hard headed but they are probably one of the smartest dogs. He will know when you tell him he can't chew on something and enforce it strictly. You mess up and give him an inch and he will take a mile. By the time he is 6-7 months old you should not need the crate anymore if you are doing it right. Get him fixed or your life and that other female dog's life will be a living nightmare. If you have a fence they will tunnel under or jump over it, even if its 6 feet tall. They are escape artist if you don't get them fixed. And the very best piece of advise I can give you is that he will blow his fur twice a year. mitigate your headache by brushing him as often as you can all year long or you will have fur bunnies the size of soft balls everywhere. My wife has never met a dog that she didn't treat like her own child so keep him clean and brushed because if you are anything like my wife he will be sleeping in your bed by by 7 months. My husky has never and I mean never had an accident in the house. She did in her crate when she was a pup but from the time I put the crate away until now, she has never peed or pooped in the house. Training is not only good for you but it is good for him. The time you put into the dog will pay massive dividends in the end.
Mine is 8 years old now. I got him when he was 8 weeks old. I got him a metal bench first which he didn’t like. I put a blanked on top of it and slept the first 2 days next to him and talked calming to him when I went to sleep. The next 5 days I slept in the same (living) room on the other side. Then I started to sleep in my own bed on the first floor with the door open, so I could hear him. Then i bought him a soft bench, it has meshed front and sides which you can close with a zipper. He looked closely when I zipped him up. At night I heard some noice and the next morning he was outside the bench. The mesh was intact, he had opened the zipper with his nose. I had waited until my retirement before I got him, so I can be with him most part of the day. At first I walked him 3 times a day for 25 minutes. Nowadays he walks 10 to 15 km at the side of the bicycle and 3 km on a leash in the evening. I learned him what he could destruct (card board boxes) and he quickly learned to pie and poop outside. He pied maybe 8 times and pooped 2 times in his whole live inside. When he is outside in the garden and wants to come inside, he gives a little yelp. He also knows when he has to come in when it starts raining. He can roam free if that is allowed, he always follows me say at a distance. You know I am the one who’s providing the food. He is trained at people, children and baby’s, all other animals are prey except for cows and horses of which he is afraid. He barks only at pups which do not show respect. He only has howled a couple of times and sometimes in his sleep, that’s funny. He really is on the clock, time to walk, time to eat, time to sleep. The only 2 negative side’s he has, he digs holes in the garden to crawl up into and yes, he sheds the whole year round. It was not easy to learn him to swim but nowadays he loves to cool of in the water. Doesn’t sit on the bench or chairs, doesn’t come up the stairs (that’s where the shower is, which he hates). I am happy with mine. Perfect dog, but you need at least 3 hours a day for it, 365 days a year in all weather conditions.
After having many Spaniel’s, crate training is to whether the puppy is comfortable in the crate or not. Most of our Spaniels have not liked their safe crate.
His a puppy, all pups are full of energy, you must have forgotten that. Do your research on huskies, they are great jumpers, pulling dogs and very smart, leave the kennel door open so he can go in and out, if you shut it he will feel like it’s a punishment, at least until he gets used to it. But read up on this breed

Sorry for your loss..we lost our first husky last may 2020 do to internal cancer..😥❤🙏🐺
They’re adorable and just love causing so much chaos!
@@AllenBrosowsky This is the best story 🥺🥰🥲
No such thing as a difficult dog. Only an ignorant owner.
@@akamaster09 It’s true that most behavioral issues come from a lack of stimulation and training. Husky pups require a LOT of stimulation and training - hence why I called them “difficult.” 😆
Working out is also “difficult.” That doesn’t mean it’s bad. 😉
My blue healer destroyed everything when he was a puppy. And 2 years later he’s a sweetheart. Just takes a lot of love and patients.
Agreed 100%. They’re just like kids! :)
Did you neutering him?

This was a nice reminder as to how blessed I was with my husky. Got him at 6 weeks old, and apart from a few times when sick, he only had an accident in the house the night I brought him home. No issues crate training. Never barked. Never chewed anything up. Totally hated baths, though.
Any tips on potty training outside, EG. how to get my husky to use it quickly after going outside? how to get my husky to know only to use it outside and not inside anymore , thank you
I got a doggie door to a Husky proofed backyard. That solved most of the damage.
Omg my older husky who’s almost two is perfect as well! He was fast to train, never chewed on the house or anything but his toys. He does love to tear up dryer sheets but that’s it. He had a biting issue but that stopped a few months ago
And now he’s just a good boy. Got a new puppy over a month ago and oh boy! He’s similar to this video but not as destructive. He climbs over everything while the older one will never dare! He’s a handful compared to my older one.
I'm on my 3rd husky and none of them could stand baths
That sounds like the dream. Too good to be true 😅
GO into a pet shop and try that your dog choose a toy he may like.@@daniellemcmindes6627
ALL DOGS are alot of work ...alot of work. The key is to learn the species. You have a working dog...they will require work and activities. If he tears things up...hes bored and anxious.. You seem adventurous...so thats a good start. Keep it up and study his species more...it will give you insight and help save your things.

SO bratty and SO worth it! ❤️
You raise them right they will always be there for you and protect you.
yes they need a ton of exercise. ours could jump a 5 foot fence. no joke. like a deer.
Huskies thrive in an active household so I’m glad he’s got a family that takes him on long hikes and camping trip. Exactly what that dog needs!!
Huskys need lots of toys. My house looks like a gang of kids live in it with toys all over the house but at least he stopped eating our shoes.

I’ve had my husky for nine years. Got him when he was a baby. The first couple years were hell but after that he chilled out and became a great friend
Oh totally! I think he changed after the 9 month mark for sure! 🩵
Here are a few things that I learned:
That’s such a great name for a husky! He sounds lovely ❤️
@@LifeWithSnowDogs He was a rescue at six months...and originally had the terrible name of Loner.
Definitely! He loves his kennel now and goes in there to nap all that time 😊
I've raised my husky since 1 week old bottle fed because she was rejected for being the last of a large litter.

Haha your scrunchies! How cute!!
Wait until you and he start arguing every day :-)
That is awesome! Ive always wanted a husky.
People can't emphasize enough the amount of work Huskies are. A large litter of German Shepherds or Golden Retrievers is easier.
You summed it up perfectly 💙 Chaos is their middle name. Lol
As soon as I saw that little "Baby Gate", I was like .... Yeah, good luck with that! 😂😂
I am not any kind of dog expert or trainer, I’ve just had dogs for my entire life
Definitely! he’s a year old and great now! Those puppy months are definitely rough though 😂
Your furbabies are BEAUTIFUL! I have 3 small dogs, one is 8 months old. So fun!
You are a goooood trainer wow , ty for explaining everything detail !
Like children, they come with their own personalities. Take the good with the bad and hopefully the bad does not turn into a habit.

Huskies are super fun! But yes, way energetic and require lots of attention!

I want to have a husky someday, these videos are really helpful, i hear in another videos they shed tons of fur, they climb and dig and flee tu run any fence and they run so much they cant find their way back. Also they tend to be noisy with the yellings howlings, and really stuborn dogs.
Hahaha that sounds very accurate. This one is super loud already at his young age... I'm scared to see as he grows up! Haha
So cute! Please take care of him. Huskies are the best. You'll get use to him.
He’s 2 now and the best dog ever!
My husky was so calm as a puppy 😅 never use a crate or something but now was she’s 13 she’s like a pup. Running all over lol

Leo squeezes between the bars. He’s still small enough. But as he gets bigger then it should be okay.
My husky needs 4 hours of running and other activities a day to be happy and relaxed. Huskies are working dogs so they need a lot to do and they don't like to be seperated from family. Nice to see you're hiking with your beautiful dogs. It's a good exercise!
YES! This sums them up exactly haha. Thanks!

He’s such a great dog now! Those puppy months are hard for sure though 😂
@@LifeWithSnowDogs Huskies are the best, you never want another breed after them haha. The hair though!!! 🤭
@@lauraheath1626 OMG THE HAIR 😂 it’s literally everywhere, all the time!
@@LifeWithSnowDogs "There's hair in your food",
Me, "yeah I Know", continues eating lol
My husky bites everything especially my hand...I think he needs a companion because he thinks my hands are the playmate lmao.
Mine too foouf😭😭😭
My husky too! I literally think he doesn’t love me because the way he bites my hands and foot is aggressive.. He is 7 months old
It’s my first day of having a puppy husky and she is so adorable even though I never had any dog before I been learning from TH-cam
Perfect dog, but you need at least 3 hours a day for it, 365 days a year in all weather conditions.
huskies are experts at disappearing in seconds if let loose.
Agreed 😂
After having many Spaniel’s, crate training is to whether the puppy is comfortable in the crate or not. Most of our Spaniels have not liked their safe crate.
Really cute video. Get'm trained to be obedient and bring to your zoom classes, I hope.
That's the plan! Haha
AWW HE'S SO SWEET!!
This is a really good reality check. Thank you for the video.
I’m glad it helped!!
