  • Cervical Kyphosis Exercises (Exercises For Reversal Of Cervical Lordosis) | Dr. Walter Salubro
    In this video, Dr. Walter Salubro shows 4 exercises for the neck. The first two exercises are warm up exercises, and exercises for increasing cervical muscle flexibility and cervical mobilty. These are great exercises that can be done before the cervical kyphosis specific exercises. For the cervical kyphosis, we give patients a Pro-Lordotic Neck Exerciser the help induce a cervical lordosis. We also teach patients a 4 part cervical exercise called the FLIP exercise which is designed to help induce a cervical curve and while coming out of the cervical kyphosis.

      Healthy Andrew.. I am not sure if I understand your question. A cervical kyphosis is best diagnosed with a spinal xray. An MRI may indicated a kyphosis, but if the MRI is done lying done (usually) then you can't assess the weight bearing affect from gravity on the spine. Without any imaging, a cervical kyphosis can not be identified or diagnosed.

      @@DrWalterSalubro excellent. Thank you so much. We'll definitely reach out to them. Poor kid can't stop adjusting his neck every few seconds and he's starting to look like a stegosaurus with his vertebrae protruding out the back at C-6 and C-7. Definitely locked up in the upper thoracic spine as well. He's such a good, capable, well-rounded kid with an extremely kind heart. We just want to see him heal and thrive again. It's been 9 months since his accident. Thank you again Dr. Salburo.

    Dear, you give me so much hope; I am infinitely grateful for you. I went to see a physio and he recommended me some exercise that is a neck tuck then curving backward, it feels very uncomfortable to do and I'm afraid it causes more issue than help so I haven't done it. Is there any chance you would give rdv over video call?

    Can the curve become lordotic once again if person suffers military neck!

    • @DrWalterSalubro
      @DrWalterSalubro  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Military necks are hard to correct and it depends on many factors, like degeneration, disc bulges, upper thoracic and T1 alignment. In some cases we can get some measurable improvement of the lordosis.

    • @ehab.5497
      @ehab.5497 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DrWalterSalubro How are military necks hard to correct when you say that kyphosis can be corrected even though kyphosis should be harder to correct?

    • @DrWalterSalubro
      @DrWalterSalubro  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ehab, A kyphosis is a reversed cervical curve so there is more room for coming back to straight which is already an improvement. However, a military neck is straight up and down. In my experience, it has been more challenging to pull them into a lordosis from this position. Hope this makes sense.

      Hello. This question can not be answered without an assessment and xray evaluation to determine the baseline alignment, rule out limiting factors like degeneration, disc bulges, instabilities. I hope you can appreciate this.
