So funny! I just had to rebuild my differential. Basically change all bearing including axel and input shaft. My diff was submerged and all bearing were rusted. That is where the noise was coming from. I am hoping you don't have to do it. It is quite a task. Great video Jeff. Maybe you can create a video on just rebuilding a diff. There is not a whole lot of videos on rebuilding one. Nice job Jeff

Thanks for this well-done video! Another TH-camr said the 85W-90 gear oil was correct for electric carts. I'm glad to know the correct lubricant.

Hey Jeff. I recently drained and replaced the differential fluid in my 1995 EZGO TXT electric. I also noticed the differential cover was slightly dented when I removed it, so I removed the dent as best I could with a hammer. After replacing the cover and differential fluid, I’m hearing a slight and intermittent whine or rubbing noise coming from the differential. Does it take a little bit for the fluid to lubricate or is it possible the differential cover is now rubbing on the gear?

If it was not doing it before it sounds more like maybe the cover is rubbing.

@@kartkrazy Thanks. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to take the cover off again but it looks like I will. 🙄

Love the video! Did the pounding out the dent and or filling up with gear oil get rid of the noise when driving?

It’s just a cheap one off amazon… however, you can get them at pretty much any parts store

Hi Jeff. Wondering if you know what the torque wrench setting should be for those differential nuts? If there is one?
