At least yours came with the fuel sending unit! My goldwing just has a big hole in the gas tank until I can find one. It's filled with rust and unusable right now anyways, but I think I'll be able to afford one by the time I get the gas tank clean at the rate I'm going.

Try Ebay and other such sites. I found the original radio/CB/intercom/volt/temp equipment on Ebay.
This project is definitely taking me a long time!!
I would have connected it back and move the float from stop to stop and watch the fuel gauge. If works then install it back into the fuel tank
