I expected just raw footage when I clicked, not machinima. Thrills, laughs, wonder, storytelling (especially with Chief and blue Elite)… you went the extra mile for this one! This deserves to blow up like the Halo ring someday.
The sky thingy btw is the assembly forge for the halo ring replacements at the center of the ark. It has a moon that is harvested for raw huilding material which is why its got chunks ripped out of it.
this is such a wonderful watch!! chief running to be picked up by the elite is definitely the highlight, didn't even know that was a possible route until now
went into this just expecting a satisfying warthog run, was not expecting this level of high quality excellent cinematography, was very pleasantly surprised
I always found the idea of Elites driving Warthogs, a vehicle not native to them, in this life-or-death situation, amusing. I like to feel that they're not fazed by the imminent destruction of the ring and they're just strolling along the area like it's a normal drive for them, lol.
"Demon !! My vehicle is operating at a Slower speed !!" "You have engaged the low gear ratio, disengage and shift to high gear. " "English demon, speak english"
Remind me of the time with my two brothers, we were so close, playing and shouting out to ourself, replaying again and again this level, first time was so difficult, ho man nostalgia hit hard
I never knew what it was when i was little. I thought it was a giant skull in the sky but it was the moon that the arks halo manufacturing complex uses as raw material
This is the best way to end a game. You just completed the firing sequence and now you need to get the hell out of there. The choreography and music is picture perfect. Seeing the Halo ring on fire which is illuminating the sky orange as the fighting rages on around you makes you feel as if you’re in the battle. The echoes of the choir tug at your heartstrings because it’s the voices of the Spartans missing in action. Cortana shouting updates as you get closer to the Dawn has you on the edge of your seat. At last, it comes into view and Cortana shouts “FLOOR IT RIGHT INTO THE HANGER!” You give the warthog all she’s got and make the jump. One of the greatest endings in gaming history. 343 can’t hold a candle to Bungie.
this is insane. must have took alot of time to make and a handful to put together, but it came out awesome. great work to you and your friends playcon! made an absolute masterpiece
the ending shot is so fucking badass. that was amazing work you guys, and amazing recovery to who ever was master chief and the elite for picking him up. absolute machinima. B)
I'll never forget doing this run with all vehicle types on the mission (Yes, we redid Vidmaster just for this). I was stuck on the Mongoose and just had to rely on my allies to body block for me or take out an enemy here or there. Was a crazy experience that no game to this day has been able to replicate.
This is pure epicness. And this is what I would have wanted at the end of 3rd or 4th season in an ideal Halo show. Funny thing, this video had 117 comments before I commented.
It's crazy how differently everyone does this last drive. I've never seen anyone approach it the same as me and it's always so cool finding new ways of driving to the end.
Landing in the hanger, the 4 are cutting close with time, chief getting hit by a tank while the others managed to get out of the way, the arbiter looks toward the chief stares back...giving each other a nod Arbiter: "You two with me now!!!" The two elites follow hurryingly, while the chief gets Cortana in the ship's systems Cortana: "Hang on!!!" Arbiter and the others quickly do their best to navigate the ship upwards as fast as possible As the ring starts self-destructing, the ship makes out right as the ground the ship was on falling apart Arbiter: "PUNCH IT!" The remains of the warthogs and tanks suddenly go bursting out of the hanger, nearly taking chief with them Cortana: "Chief!" As the ring is about to fire, chief and Cortana lock eyes.... Cortana: "Chief, if we don't make it" Chief: "We'll make it" Cortana: "It was a honor severing with you....John" .......For the arbiter and two elite's, it was just seconds for them, like a mere blink, and they feel the ship has landed on water.....only half of the ship. The rest of the ending would proceed as normal with the two elites partaking in ceremony of the fallen of war. after some of the normal things you would know of the ending, the two elites go with the arbiter, now his right and left hands for their selfless actions and help saving not only their homeworld but ALL of creation. Shipmaster: "Where to arbiter?" Arbiter: "Take us home.....i think we all earned it" And so...they take off.....leaving the rest of the story as normal with chief going into cryo stasis. thanks for making this incredible clip.
Amazing editing, this is why I wish 343 kept theater mode for campaign in their games, also at least save your video files on your computer cuz ever since MCC you can’t save your clips to your Xbox like you could in the other games with being able to pan around in the clips.
The biggest revelation of this level is if you look at the warthog path from a birds eye view, it’s actually the island from ‘assault on the control room, from Halo CE
I just realised. you cant rewind campaign theatre files can you? this must have taken forever to get all the camera angles. or some incredible precision on the cuts and pauses when swapping angles? its incredible nonetheless!
Thats correct. It's roughly 40 mins for the whole clip as we died a lot to make sure we did it without restarting the whole level. Had to note the times we began sections, passed sections, and then go back through and get close shots, medium shots, long shots and cool shots. Cheers mate!
Genuine question, because videogame cinematography is an art all of its own. How did you get all the shots and different camera angles? I assume it was spectator cam, but the amount of varied angles and timing of shots has me curious. Was it several others on cams, moving and leapfrogging acrosa the map grabbing different shots?
Good question, so because MCC Theatre mode is cursed, you're unable to rewind at all. Basically I went into theatre mode and noted down all the times we passed certain areas and timestamped them, qs in when we entered areas and when we left them. Did this a few times until I had a successful "pass" where I knew where we entered each area and when we left it. The problem is, this video in theatre mode is over 40 minutes long, because we refused to restart. And without being able to rewind, this is a major problem. Once I had all my time stamps mapped out, I went through and recorded an entire run of close shots. Then restarted theatre mode went in and recorded an entire run of medium shots, and then did the same for far shots. Then went in a few more times to get some cinematic shots I wanted. At this point I had more than enough footage, and built the video using the shots I already had. I probably went back into the theatre mode over 20+ times. Accidentally fast forwarding past a time stamp was very annoying!
"cut down to look like a single take" The video is full of cuts. This is not what a single take means. Great editing and cinematography otherwise, but I am bugged by the incorrect term usage. You mean single run, not single take.

I’m elite picking up the master chef first halo ring 💍 fixing halo 1 combat evolved 😊

This had:
- story
- heartache
- redemption
- anticipation
- classic Halo shenanigans
Better than Hollywood! 😂
Halo 6 is Carp!!!!!
Because Bungie knew the formula and the right way to make a good halo game

“AAAAH I’M IN, DRIVE FUCKER DRIVE❗️”
This game will NEVER get old
That's why hits harder when is compare with 343i games, doesn't feel the same, but something empty.
Game came out in 2007 yet the lighting makes the game timeless.
The Mongoose driver was a goddamn hero.
The cinematography here is incredible. Seriously, there’s dozens of neat touches that take this from good to great:
0:00 The group is evenly spaced in a column
0:26 Choir kicks in as the sky-thingy comes into focus
0:31 Halo ring is centered between the cliffs, and there’s a moment of mystery of why the Elite got out before we see the answer of the Mongoose
0:50 Strings kick in just as we see the full group driving in a perfect row
0:54 Camera angle changes with music
0:56 Camera angle again changes with music to an epic overhead shot
1:06 Arbiter jumping out, getting in the Warthog, and angle change all sync with music
1:13 Epic sky shot matching the music
1:21 Epic shot of three vehicles jumping
1:40 Chief gets Warthog on his windshield. It’s funny, but also the way Chief ducks his head makes him feel alive
1:48 Epic sideways shot
2:10 Explosions sync with music, the three Warthogs jumping match the first segment of music, and the Mongoose jumping matches the second segment when the pitch goes up
2:18 Calmer transition music matches the calmer moment where the Warthogs wait for the Mongoose
2:27 Angle change matches music
2:31 Flood getting splattered by Mongoose matches music
2:33 Epic rotating shot shows the group moving around the structure as it starts to tilt
2:45 Neat zoom angle
2:50 Music transition matches how our focus isn’t on the heroes but on the falling structure
3:09 Epic overhead shot
3:20 Suspenseful chord matches how Chief falls to his doom
3:31 Piano part matches heroes jumping _and_ Chief’s respawn
3:37 Angle changes as if we’re seeing Chief’s POV of friends seemingly abandoning him
3:50 Nice zoom-in of Chief trying his best to catch up on foot
3:55 Zoom from Chief to the three vehicles jumping
3:58 Dramatic chord matches Chief jumping to an unknown place
4:04 Epic low angle catches the Elite’s sliding turn
4:07 Strings resuming shows Chief is no longer in peril anymore
4:12 Epic low angle of the Mongoose almost going off the side. My stomach did a little flutter at that the first time
4:15 Higher strings kick in as we get a far-back shot of more explosions
4:29 Cool shot of the Chief shooting the Flood
4:30 Epic overhead shot
4:43 Mongoose looks like it bounces over the camera, again with angle changing on time with the music
4:48 The strings going up-and-down accompanies a shot of all four of our heroes
4:57 Amazing shot of the jumping Warthog silhouetted against the sun
5:15 Far-back shot of explosions as the choir kicks in
5:30 Cool angle of the big metal thingy smashing into the camera
5:38 Zoom-in through the chaos to see our heroes
6:06 Music changes as the _Forward Unto Dawn_ comes into view
6:09 Awesome interior shot of the Dawn looking at our heroes
6:16 The Elite cheekily spins his Mongoose at the last second
6:20 Video freezes just as the music hits its last note
If you're still with me, the only reason I wrote all this out is because clearly a lot of thought and effort went into this video and I wanted people to appreciate it.
I expected just raw footage when I clicked, not machinima. Thrills, laughs, wonder, storytelling (especially with Chief and blue Elite)… you went the extra mile for this one! This deserves to blow up like the Halo ring someday.

this is such a wonderful watch!! chief running to be picked up by the elite is definitely the highlight, didn't even know that was a possible route until now
It makes me appreciate Halo 3 and it’s warthog run so much more
More emotion than the entire Halo show

Itd definitely be awkward after using covie antigrav tech. Plus theyre not meant for 8ft tall aliens. Let alone spartans but shh
"Demon !! My vehicle is operating at a Slower speed !!"
"You have engaged the low gear ratio, disengage and shift to high gear. "

If we die, we die- but we’re going to die doing something AWESOME.
4:08 "Hop on, Spartan!"
Never leave a man behind
This is the best finale any game has ever had. Genuinely an incredible experience.
Bro I was screaming! 4:04
Love how you got everyone in their own vehicles, great vid
This is a milestone in every man's life.
Every time I see the thumbnail pop up on my recommendations. I always think that’s Starro from DC comics, instead of the Ark
Beautifully done! Took full advantage of the Theater Mode to make something really spectacular here!
Absolutely phenomenal! Solid editing!
Epic fucking video!!!
I loved the mongoose spin at the end.
Remind me of the time with my two brothers, we were so close, playing and shouting out to ourself, replaying again and again this level, first time was so difficult, ho man nostalgia hit hard
well done amazing vid. bleu elite mvp with that save. Also never noticed how beautiful the background is on the level
4:03 that was epic…
You know, it's funny, I actually never noticed the Ark way in the background of the skybox before.
Bro did never look up😅
I never knew what it was when i was little. I thought it was a giant skull in the sky but it was the moon that the arks halo manufacturing complex uses as raw material

Such a great video! Had me smiling and feeling like a kid again. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
this is both hilarious and nostalgic im saving it for later

Lol 4:10 the drift actually looked badass asf
imagine if the halo TV series season 2 last episode ended with a warthog run off a self destructing halo ring. that alone would save the TV show.
the spin that the Elite did on the Mongoose was peak style tbh

This litterally took be back to when I was a kid and my brother had to drive the warthog for us because I wasn't good enough.

Thats honestly canon at this point cuz Uze and N'tho, the two elites, come back to the Ark in one of the Halo books. That's definitely a treat.
