I have to say Gray and Lucy are probably the two characters that have gone through the most trauma in the whole series and they always find a way to keep pushing forward. For me that makes them the best from this series.
I’m pretty sure Gray joined the guild before Erza because I remember Erza being cold (ha) to Gray when he tried to introduce himself to her. Whichever the case, I really adored Gray and Erza’s relationship especially in early Fairy Tail. I wished we got to see more of it in later arcs before their relationship took a backseat to their other relationships.
Gray is one of my favorite characters and his devil slayer magic transformation was awesome and the story that went with it was really good and very sad. I also like how it was linked with one of his all time best fights, his fight against Rufus from Sabertooth in the grand magic games.
The things that Gray did to little baby me who didn't even know they were queer was woohoooo. What makes the Make the Magic Special are the mages and how they use their magic with their limitations and rules
I wouldn't say fairy tail has the best magic system but it's definitely good. I was always confused about how some magics can be learnt and some seemingly can't be. I specifically remember one episode where Mira was teaching Natsu and Lucy shapeshifting magic which went nowhere but it means that people CAN learn that stuff. I’m gonna be honest, I’ve been Gruvia trash since the moment they first met lol. There was something about the storyline of him being the reason she sees the sun that just resonated with me. Like come on, that shit was so cute😭 He also got to be the one to tell her the message to live on, just like he went through in the Galuna arc since Juvia was literally ok with falling to her end at the end of their first fight. While I haven’t always enjoyed the stalker personality they gave Juvia (and tbh I would love if you’d consider giving juvia her own video because that girl also deserves way better), their contrasting personalities were always interesting to me. Quiet, cold gray contrasted with happy and sunny Juvia. Also, I’ve always loved the idea of them together because I’ve always liked gray as a character, and I love that he has someone who whole heartedly loves him for him. He’s never had that before. Yes he has the guild who are his family, but he has never had someone like him the way Juvia does. Erza had/has Jellal and Natsu had Lisana (and Lucy if Mashima would just make Nalu canon already😭). I don’t think he’s ever felt about someone the way he feels about Juvia, and I am a sucker for a slow burn which their relationship is the definition of one. Especially after the Avatar arc and the fight with Invel, it’s obvious that gray cares incredibly deeply for Juvia. She brings out his softer, caring side and he calms her down (sometimes lol). Water and ice are a great pair, and there was foreshadowing to them together in one of the earliest episodes (problems with water and women, gosh I wonder who that could be lol). First off, if you like Gray or Fairy Tail as a whole, 1000% recommend reading Hiro Mashima's big story before Fairy Tail, Rave (or Rave Master in English speaking countries). Because before Gray, there was Musica. It's amazing and seriously, those who like or dislike Fairy Tail, read Rave because it'll please both sides. Secondly, I do feel the manga will sometimes highlight things better than the anime with still images. Like exhibit A, Gray has more muscle tone in manga than anime. Plus those panels of interactions better show the connections Gray has with others. Gray and Erza are the serious ones when stuff needs to get done, like people making Erza emotional sets Gray off. Gray and Wendy have little moments that give very big bro and lil sis energy. And Gray actually does have a good number of interactions with Lucy specifically, like legitimate shipping fuel that would make Juvia go crazy. Especially in the final arc as Gray supports Lucy in saving Natsu, doing something only she can do, instead of choosing the vengeance against E.N.D. he pledged and tried to follow through on moments before. And I think a very key moment of his Ice Make magic utility (and top tier manga panels) comes in the Edolas arc. While all the fights are going on and chasing of the key to fire the cannon is happening, it ends it in Gray's fight. Both sides need to use the key for their own purpose, but Gray basically ends up destroying it. There's the creeping off an "all is lost" moment and Gray simply tells them that they never lost anything. He uses his Ice Make magic to recreate the key out of ice and we know, even if it is lost, we're saved because Gray can always make another one. And I love Gray and Natsu's relationship. They talk about the other even when they're not around each other. Constantly, they'll make comparisons to the other while fighting an enemy about how they dealt with harder from each other or how they'll never hear the end of it if they lose to something like this. And also are the most confident in each other's strengths and capabilities, like unless it's villain of the arc, they don't interfere in personal stuff. And anytime they team up and actually fight together is so hype. End of Tartarus arc is just chef's kiss. (Not much to say about the Gray and Juvia relationship as I didn't get on board til the final arc. I thought it a gag until Tenerou Island and that's when I commended Juvia's feelings. Great video on such a great character. He has a very creative and interesting power set and an awesome transformation as well. Gray is a strong willed character that definitely has some mental issues from his past trauma, but despite that he pushes through and tries to give his all for his fairy tail family to protect them and help them whenever he can. Juvia and Gray is definitely end game goals, Gray's trauma just makes it hard for him to take the next step in their relationship, but he will definitely take that step someday.
Gray is easily top 5 characters for me if not number2 Did you know that gray was originally the one to take down jellal for erza but hiro changed that and Also changed the possibility of gray ending with erza. Pretty sure if he did that alot would like him much more because let's be honest he was overshadowed alot in the first part of ft
Gray is definitely a great character his and Natsu rivalry is in my opinion a better version of naruto and Sasuke because they grew up as friends but when natsu was in his E.N.D form and him in his devil slayer form it was an intense fight but Erza did something sakura couldn’t stop them from fighting and crying seeing her shedding tears broke my heart fairy tail is far from perfect but its still a good show and will always be my favorite anime
What i really liked about Gray was that the times he had to fight against an enemy that had the upper hand he didn´t just suddenly win by the power of friendship or by yelling louder before doing the same attack that failed 10 times before but that now suddenly works. When fighting an ice wizard, like his own father, he hides a cannonbal inside his ice attack so when his father dissipates the ice, the cannonball kept going through his father´s chest. Or at the magic games, when facing that memory mage, who could memorize every spell he ever saw (this guy might be one of the most powerful wizards) he simply created a new spell right then and there. He is not just powerful, he is smart and resourceful
Gray has been my favorite since the beginning. His character is realistic considering what he went through. I think he’s a fun character but I tend to like the sideish characters. His ice magic is dope as hell too

So i never watched fairy tail but i watched winx especially you're content about it and... It feels like he would be the son of musa (and maybe riven but we hope not)
I'm surprised you enjoy Gruvia. I liked it at first because it wasn't serious, Juvia made me laugh and Gray got more screen time. But it really soured on me the more serious we (the audience) are meant to take it. It's very clear that Gray is not into Juvia for a majority of the story, like harshly rejecting her after the GMG. But she weasels herself in his life time and time again. My interpretation of Gruvia is largely influenced by Mnemosyne's Elegy (amazing fanfic writer), who characterizes it as abusive and shows a side of Gray (the self-sacrificing one) that's likely to get into an unhappy relationship with her because he doesn't know how to reject her anymore. Very interesting stories, if you have the time
I also see Gray fighting Natsu all the time is a coping mechanism because he actually cares for him but deep down he beleives Natsu will get himself killed like everyone else he loved because of his reckless nature.
gray came first in the guild then erza and then natsu though when you look at age then yes erza is the oldest then gray or is natsu the same age ... mmm cant remember
I feel like gray has a lot of potential but Fairy Tail is really is a shonen show for teenager so I understand it not supposed to great writing, logic, or anything great but man that show made me hate the power of friendship trope so much. It's the reason why I enjoy jkk
The only thing I like about Gray is how hilarious it is when they try to say his full name in Japanese. Lololol If he could stop being a dick to Juvia, I could maybe like him a bit
Okay, over the years i just don't like ft as much. It is enjoyable and nostalgic sure, but nothing more. I do however like some characters, their magic and designs. Including gray and lucy. And i still like graylu, platonic or romantic, doesn't matter. Just a great relationship with good chemistry and nice interactions. I think it would be interesting to have gray in natsu's place🤔 Anyway, nice video. I really enjoy your commentary Also, another tiny thing.. I can't stand gruvia😅
Same here buddy i cant stand gruvia either ive always shipped gray n lucy he had feelings for lucy since the very begining like i ship nalu but i feel like lucy shouldve been with gray theres so much content n moments between them were they were into each other im not gonna name everything since theres alot but i feel like juvia came between them like gray rejected her so much set so many bondries n when they shared a house together he set bounderies as well n it was convent for him to stay with her i feel like it was forced n she forced herself on him with no respect towards him i also hate how she changed herself for him too
Bro the iced shell drama got old very quickly. The nice juke to Grey choosing to live in the tartaros arc was refreshing enough, but then him going back on that and redoing the same crap vs Zeref was just tiring. There's more I could discuss, but I don't wanna type that much. Grey is B tier

Very interesting stories, if you have the time
I can’t unhear gray as twice bc they have the same English va
I also see Gray fighting Natsu all the time is a coping mechanism because he actually cares for him but deep down he beleives Natsu will get himself killed like everyone else he loved because of his reckless nature.
I’m still waiting for that grivia video
16:24 So about that Gruvia video... You still up for it? 😂
I would love a commentary and talking videos about My little pony : FiM
A revisit to this unique series could been amazing too ❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg ugh yes
Gray stans rise? More like Gay stans rise❤
thought we all knew this happy gets edolas
gray came first in the guild then erza and then natsu though when you look at age then yes erza is the oldest then gray or is natsu the same age ... mmm cant remember

Given how much you like creative ways of using powers I have to ask if you've ever seen One Piece? And if so what do you think of it?
I feel like gray has a lot of potential but Fairy Tail is really is a shonen show for teenager so I understand it not supposed to great writing, logic, or anything great but man that show made me hate the power of friendship trope so much. It's the reason why I enjoy jkk
LeOOn?
Why do you say it like that 🥲
The only thing I like about Gray is how hilarious it is when they try to say his full name in Japanese. Lololol
If he could stop being a dick to Juvia, I could maybe like him a bit
Pls do a s8 commentary
The filer of gray working with the weirdo who made the fake dragon is one of the worst filers to me gray felt so out of character
I think it would be interesting to have gray in natsu's place🤔
Anyway, nice video. I really enjoy your commentary
Also, another tiny thing.. I can't stand gruvia😅
Same here buddy i cant stand gruvia either ive always shipped gray n lucy he had feelings for lucy since the very begining like i ship nalu but i feel like lucy shouldve been with gray theres so much content n moments between them were they were into each other im not gonna name everything since theres alot but i feel like juvia came between them like gray rejected her so much set so many bondries n when they shared a house together he set bounderies as well n it was convent for him to stay with her i feel like it was forced n she forced herself on him with no respect towards him i also hate how she changed herself for him too
I love Gray but Natsu is my boy.
I relay liked Gray up until the third time he tried to use Ice Shell then his character was lost on me
Gray came into fairy tail first, and erza is second and last is natsu
thought it said gay for a moment lol
honestly Gray's fashion style is just transmasc and gay goals lol
Actually gray joined fairy tail first then erza and natsu joined fairy tail last.

Watch One Piece you will enjoy it a lot
Bro the iced shell drama got old very quickly. The nice juke to Grey choosing to live in the tartaros arc was refreshing enough, but then him going back on that and redoing the same crap vs Zeref was just tiring.
There's more I could discuss, but I don't wanna type that much.
Grey is B tier
