some advice. I passed 1st time a month ago with only 1 minor. My whole test was on 20mph roads. I stayed in 2nd gear, and didnt go up to 3rd at all. Still passed, but the instructor advised at the end for fuel efficiency to go up to 3rd when the road is clear. My test was at a very busy time of day, lots of obstacles and it was raining heavily so i played it safe in 2nd gear.
I passed my test first time last Wednesday with 2 minors and I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos especially these mock tests they really helped me out!
This young man's mistakes are my pet peeves. - Changing lanes during turning (in the intersection), and - blatant disregard for car's suspension while speeding over the speed bumps (not to mention that they are there for a safety reason).

The chat was like an interrogation this week🤨😛. Aman has gone from a fully fledged driving instructor, to having to balance her work, with her content creations, there are only so many hours in the day, it takes a lot of time and effort to create these videos, we should applaud her creativity and success, not question why she can't take on more and more lessons, it's very understandable that she has had to find that balance between her work and her social media, she can't be everything to everybody, and it's so vital to carve out time to unwind amidst ones busy schedule, that really is vital to ones health and wellness. 🙏🙏💞🙏🙏
Don't be so hard on yourself. I thought for a learner you did well. You are a good driver. I believe you will pass. Just believe in yourself. Aman great videos as always. 😊🚗🚦
Certainly, he should have slowed when he reached a speed bump, However, the Highway Code says “A speed limit of 30 mph (48 km/h) generally applies to all roads with street lights (excluding motorways) unless signs show otherwise.” It doesn’t seem to mention anything about speed bumps or islands signifying a 20 zone. Good idea practicing parallel parking next to a dropped curb, to avoid curbing the alloys. :-)
Got a question for you and a comment. First he comment, maybe it doesn't say anything about speed bumps in 30 mph (maybe because they don't have them or they are very uncommon.), but the part about 20mph zones does mention the speed bumps? Now explain this street light thing to me, I've heard Aman mention it a few times but it doesn't make any sense to me. Okay so if there are street lights it's a 30mph zone, do 20 mph not have street lights? Do those people just live on dark streets? I haven't paid close enough attention to notice, but where I live I think there are street lights "everywhere".
@@Arjay404 I think roads with streetlights are 30mph unless otherwise indicated. You can of course have 40mph or 20mph roads with street lights, but these would have signs. If there are no signs, then it’s 30. That’s my understanding. A road with streetlights and speed bumps, but no 20mph signs would still be a 30mph road afaik.
I would love to have you for my navigation, your voice, melody as pronunciation are very calming and smooth. XD next time I am in UK I better check your rules first. Is it mandatory to indicate when entering a round about? Because that’s a huge no go in my country. Basically a serious mistake XD Not reducing the speed approaching a speed pump would be a mistake too.
Love your videos so much and although I passed almost 4 months ago (which I find crazy!!) I love still watching the videos. I LOVE driving so much and sometimes have driving anxiety but I like to prove to myself I can do things (hills mainly😂)
A motor cyclist on a car test would probably have looked through the rear passenger window too at the three lane road, something I practised and encouraged novice drivers to do (all those years ago). Enjoying the vids.
Love you're video very helpful as am i have my test booked but have to wait 3 months and done 26hr with a instructor why is the such a long wait is this down to area thanks
As an australian, id love to come do a mock test with you. We have way different road rules. Id love to see how i would go with being an experienced aussie driver. With roundabouts in aus we have to go around it not straight and we have to indicate off the round about.
"After 200 yards turn right" sitting at these lights I am thinking let the SUV get ahead then accelerate fast to 30 mph so changing lanes is facilitated in an easy manner. The van following in lane 2 would be dropped. If it was busier a sluggish start will give later problems from traffic in lane 2.
Maybe it's just me, but I think that placing numerous speed-bumps as a way of enforcing a certain speed limit, and not stating that limit clearly over the span of a 100 yards or more, is... well, doing things backwards, to put it in mild terms :).
I disagree. I think anyone who values their car's suspension would be quick to slow down once they hit that first speed bump at 30 . If you don't, you either don't value your things or you're just a bad driver. You shouldn't need a sign to scream common sense at you.
@@MJ_M I'm not sure he was hitting the bumps at 30 -- I'm not even sure if Aman could allow him to exceed the legal speed limit by such a big margin; if I remember well, Aman talked about Shiv driving around 24 MPH or so in that 20 zone. As for the speed bumps, they always jolt you to a certain extent. I guess it takes experience to know how much of a jolt is normal, and what's suggestive of the fact that you're expected to drive even more slowly. Also, how is he to know, after the first or even the second speed-bump, that they were not just a local traffic-calming measure? This was a rather normal-looking road with lamp-posts -- the default speed on those is 30, isn't it? Finally, I stick to my original point: if the entity managing the road can shell out money to construct numerous speed bumps, they should be easily capable of installing some speed signs as well.
Hi, Can I request you to change the font in video that pops up like name, the explanation, etc. as it is not the best font that is easily readable. Thanks
Great video, Aman! I noticed a secondary sat nav device on top of the built-in one. What was the reason? I noticed mostly because our car doesn't have any and on a lookout to to buy something. Currently using my phone...
I know this is 2 months late but I think it’s because a lot of cars built in sat navs use their own software and satellites etc and sometimes have “quirks” if you will. For example my friends Jeeps SatNav says everything in American terms like interstate etc not motorway so it’s confusing even tho it’s a British model. I think the secondary SatNav is a standardised one akin to what would be used in the test.
I have never driven in London, but looking at Google Street View I can see no indication that Worton Road has any 20 mph speed limits. In the video we saw 20 mph speed limits marked on the road in some neighbouring, more exclusively residential, streets (e.g. Morris Road) , but since they do not seem to have introductory red-circled signposted signs, followed by smaller repeaters, I feel that these may be advisory. Unfortunately due to my lack of attention causing me to speed while driving (something I normally try not to do), I recently had to go on an official speed awareness course where we were told that there *must* be red-bordered signs for a compulsory speed limit - white circles on the road surface don't count, they told us. I guess if you have an accident, then your not following advice, for instance the advisory sections of the Highway code, may be taken into account in determining whether or not you were driving in a responsible manner, and also a responsible driver will surely go over speed bumps gently. But a mandatory speed limit on Worton Road, because of speed bumps ... maybe not! The Government's website says "A speed limit of 30 miles per hour (48km/h) applies to all single and dual carriageways with street lights, unless there are signs showing otherwise." Also "A speed limit of 30 miles per hour (48km/h) applies to all single and dual carriageways with street lights, unless there are signs showing otherwise. For example: 20 mph zone in a built-up area near a school ...."
I love him saying his driving instructor told him pedestrians go first once they are on the street, even though the did have a red light - but he is not sure. What is the alternative, run him over? 😂
he may drive confidently, but it seems like he doesn't care much about keeping the car in good condition or his passenger's comfort as he kept going way too fast over the speed bumps. I bet that when he has his own car and has to pay to replace his tyres or shock absorbers that got worn out prematurely, he will be more careful. I wish him good luck nonetheless with his driving exam!
I know it might seem as a silly question but really can't figure it out. What for I should check left side, left blind spot, of the car if I'm parked on the left, next to a kerb, and I move off, joining the traffic to my right...? Anybody willing to give me a proper explanation, example please?

Surprised you never mention anything about him going around some corners coasting with his clutch down, also multiple times he put his clutch down for no reason just coasting along a straight road and got lucky that you told him an instruction that required the clutch immediately after
Also a gear too high is bad for the engine. This fuel efficiency is not practical in all situations, and fuel will be automatically increased to give enough power.😮
Does he not have bones in his body? How does he not feel that taking the speed bumps at those speed is not comfortable, which should also tell him that he's going to fast. The speed bumps are designed to be taken smoothly at the posted speed, maybe a little bit slower.
