Even without all this information, if you have ever visited Ethiopia, you can see that it is a non-colonized country: it has its own native languages and the one of those languages is the national language. My father did our ancestry and found out that we came to the United States by way of England, originally from Ethiopia. U don't know how happy I was to find this out. I think other important factor that was not mentioned In this video are Ethiopian geography and it's rich history. The mountainous areas were the biggest help for the Ethiopians. The same can be said about the Cockpit Country in Jamaica. The British were afraid of them. The rest of Africa was not mountainous like Ethiopia, the people fought long and hard, but a flat landscape is easier conquer.

I think other important factor that was not mentioned In this video are Ethiopian geography and it's rich history. Ethiopia is very mountainous and any foreign invasion into Ethiopian heartland is extremely difficult and will meet with extreme resistance among its population. Ethiopia has remained independent for the most part in its rich and long history and barely ever was controlled by any power, Egyptians, Greeks, Persians, Romans, Arabs, Turks, British, French, or Italians. Unlike most of Africa, Ethiopia was already a state before European colonization of this continent which makes any colonization attempt difficult as British knew this and that's why they were happy to hand Ethiopia to Italy to basically waste Italian resources.
Alaf, Afghanistan is very mountainous also and that is one reason given that they have been rarely conquered in history. They call it "the graveyard of empires". You see how America just left half-ass and in haste.

i dont say this to say anything bad about other countries as obviously they couldnt help what was done to them for the most part, but i will always be incredibly fascinated and respectful of the fact that ethiopia has remained incredibly independent and free from outside rule for as long as it has
