- All NFL teams have a team chaplain, though not many fans know about them. Johnny Shelton, the team chaplain for the Baltimore Ravens sat down with NBC’s Savannah Sellers to talk about being the spiritual guide for the team, both on and off the field.

I respect this as a 49ers fan. A relationship is Christ is more important than the game itself. In that respect we're all on the same team
Amen get anchored in the Lord all of these things fade away and are forgotten
Amen !
I’m so thankful to see this. My cousin often reminds me that Sunday is the Lord’s day. He is right. For all teams to have this is very special. May Jesus guide and speak to all of their hearts and minds.
Sir.... The Lord does approve of grown men playing little boy games, being idolized and praised on the Sabbath. ✝️
I love that people are talking about God, but now we should talk about idolatry, gluttony, drunkenness, extortion, fights, and everything else that sports promotes to an audience that worships people playing made-up games.
Let's not forget the homeless people outside of every billion-dollar stadium in America.
Amazing that the media actually did a story like this!
Sir.... The Lord does approve of grown men playing little boy games, being idolized and praised on the Sabbath. ✝️
@@ScottyBeen1000 #1. These aren’t little boy games
#2. People do idolize players, which is not good, but not everyone idolizes them.
#3. Every time they go out and play, even on Sundays, they give praise, honor, and glory to God.
#4. The Sabbath wasn’t always seen as being on Sundays. It was also on Saturdays until Church disagreements and etc.
Yeah
Thanks NBC, you just gained some of my respect back. Keep up the great work.
@@DarthJynx115exactly. Sabbath day is the last day of the week which is Saturday but pagan Sunday workship changed it thx to Satan..
Just when I think I can't love my team more, they go and do this!! MERCY!!!!!!
😂😂😂
God only watches the superbowl. Meaning he only watches a ravens game every 5-10 years.
something fishy if this is on mainstream news
@@khabibpaddedrecordI was thinking of the same thing but God will get the glory regardless!
Sir.... The Lord does approve of grown men playing little boy games, being idolized and praised on the Sabbath. ✝️
The spiritual side of football that most fans never see. Good stuff. May God's light and protection, shine on these gladiators, as they seek victory on the fields of battle.
FLOWERSzn
*_GO RAVENS!_*
I pray before every game to keep them safe. I do not pray to win unless the other team is doing leg twisting schemes. Then I pray alright……for Justice.
Amen!! Also what does flowerszn mean
@@fredduck6793It means flowers season, basically praising Zay Flowers. Like, its his time to shine pretty much.
It's nice to see a positive spiritual story on a media outlet like NBC. Keep it up!
Great uplifting story.
Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.
I really like this chaplain. Very wise of the Ravens to have a Christ centered advisor to these young and wealthy men.
Praise the Lord fr we got people out there like this serving him!!
Amen brother, finally the role of a chaplain is highlighted and celebrated 🙏🏾
No wonder they’re so successful as an organization. Great culture🙏🏾
Sir.... The Lord does approve of grown men playing little boy games, being idolized and praised on the Sabbath. ✝️
Amazing. 🙏 Go Ravens 💜 🖤
Glad a story like this made it on this show. Need more of this ❤
I'm a big time Rams fan but I am impressed with this man & and the Ravens, God Bless you.
I love seeing stuff like this.
From a divisional rival, I’m glad the Ravens have a solid chaplain like this.
I'm a Giants fan but I've always loved the Ravens, this makes me love the Ravens even more! May all praise and glory be to God in the name of Jesus Christ!
Thank you, Johnny Shelton. The Ravens are blessed having you on their team loving them for Jesus.
Absolutely amazing love the story and he is a great dude
Amen! Great job covering this story. Most news networks wouldn’t cover it. Thank you! And you quoted the Bible 👍🏼
Love this story and endless love from Baltimore, and Maryland !!! 💜🖤😈
What an amazing organization. 🙏🏽 love the Ravens 🐦⬛
Sir.... The Lord does approve of grown men playing little boy games, being idolized and praised on the Sabbath. ✝️
Not even a ravens fan but I gotta give thanks to Lord Jesus and give this man of God his props
Before every college game, I would pray in the end zone. Just thanking Jesus for the ability to play, and the opportunity to play. So many young men don’t have this opportunity that I was blessed to have. To play college 🏈. Man that was a blessing. I remember throughout that season, just being grateful to play. 💯🙏🏽
Let's GO ravens! Man, I LOVE his team, this is the culture you need to win a SB.
Go Ravens! Love my hometown! This is so awesome to see. ❤🙏🏻
Thank you, this was a wonderful, refreshing segment, the kind of content that we all need more of
Really appreciates segments like this.

I’m a Chiefs fan, tomorrow’s game is gonna be epic! But after hearing this, even if we lose a part of me will be happy and I’d definitely root for them in the Super Bowl
I'm a Texans fan and we're going to see the Ravens in the AFC this Saturday. The Ravens are allowing the Almighty and Im praying the Texans do as well. Lets have an awesome dual! God bless the Chaplain and his ministry.
Beautiful spirit

WE WANT MORE FAITH BASED stories!!! Incredilbe and inspiring.
Steelers fan here and I have so much respect for the ravens presenting their faith in God
I love this so much. What a fantastic thing. Being an NFL Chaplain is such a huge blessing. bringing football and faith together, this is such a cool thing.
This is so amazing. God works in mysterious way. Thank God for Love. For this Love. For the Ravens Chaplain to be able to his mind, heart and arms to call. Way to Go
🙏 Amen ! Wow-what a blessing to see and to love and serve others as we are called to do..no judgment. Love conquers ALL. Keep keeping on 🙏💪👏👍😀
God Bless you Sir.
God bless that man, and men like him.
You can have your favorite team, but if this doesn't make you respect the ravens you're weird
Why would someone being religious make you respect them?
@@Bystronicman08lol okay
@@tymarls Well, why would it?
@@Bystronicman08 you just have a typical troll comment, that's all. They are being humble, acknowledging something greater than themselves, being united, striving to be better, and generally being positive. Things that can happen without religion? Absolutely. But you asked what would make someone respect someone for being religious as if you seriously couldn't come up with a list even if you don't agree with it. To me, those are all good reasons to respect someone whether they are an outgrowth of religion or not. In this case they happen to be using religion, for, at, least in the way it was presented in the video, good.
Love this so proud to call this my team. God bless that man ❤
❤How Beautiful ❤️ I'm not religious but I adore what you do.
Sir.... The Lord does approve of grown men playing little boy games, being idolized and praised on the Sabbath. ✝️
God Bless you all.
Love this coverage!
I love this video. I love my Ravens! 💜🖤💜
Well, NOW I’m a Ravens fan!! So glad to see Jesus in the house.
Awesome. God Bless!!!!
Respect 🙏
Great interviewer- She is a blessing!
Thankful for these men of God reaching these men! God bless them!
Love this great story.
Reminds me of 🦅s 2017 season which got them a SB. Faith was heavily influenced in that locker room that season.
Love this. 🙏
Raven fan all day🖤💜🖤💜🏈🙏🏽
Praise God!!🎉 I am encouraged
Wow, this is awesome! I'm a Cowboys fan, but this is so encouraging to see.
“Weekly at the 50”. Amen. I had no clue about the post game prayer that I think most games have until my dad and a friend of his who used to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in the 80s mentioned to me several months back. and I think that’s one of the coolest things there about ending a football game. Just being together with your teammates and other people of faith from the other team and just praying to God for the day or your life or still being alive or not having injuries or just anything in general and it’s a very beautiful thing that they do.
I think I just became a ravens fan and I’m a Steelers fan 😭
As a cowboys fan I respect this guy so much! That was awesome!
Praises to God! Good job on a positive newscast.
This brings happy tears to my eyes.... Everything can fade but GOD never will... Love when they add GOD to everything ❤️❤️❤️...
To God be the Glory ❤
That's awesome!! God bless him and the Ravens ¡
That’s amen! God is a living and he is living!!!
This position makes sense, considering that NFL players are more likely to be Christian than the average person. I’m sure the team also employs sports psychologists, and for some people it probably helps them deal with the pressure of performing at a maximum level and with the stress of possible injuries etc.
Beautiful 👏🏻
Beautiful!!!
Great story!!! Need more of these! PRAISE GOD 💥💥💥🕊️🕊️🕊️🔥🔥🔥
AMEN!!!!!!
Blessings from Oklahoma
I love this! Praise the Lord! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you!
so hyped about the flock, god bless 🖤💜
Yes! Pray Cuzz we’re going too Win !!!! 🤩
Praise the Lord for those who love to pray 🙏 Issaquah, WA🇺🇸
Wonderful story and great to know that these men of faith are there to pray over these men and their families, to deepen their relationship with God, and to be an example of who Jesus is to all that seek Him. Great story and thank you for running it.
This is a great story! There should be more like this - more uplifting stories and less that drive a wedge between people.
Really cool video. Thank you!
Amen.. Ravens are fire 🔥
Love seeing this!!!
I didn't know 32 teams have a Chaplain! This is wonderful!
Amen 🙏
That’s so awesome!
THIS!!!!❤🙏🏽
Awesome ❤
Amen!❤❤
