    Great looking truck! That body, the hydra-drive, awh, the memories. My dad had one and against my RC10T it always seemed better; I just wanted whatever dad had really. Thanks for sharing! $38 for that cover isn't bad either! Looks fantastic.

      Hey Brett, thanks for the comment. I really like my XXT and the way it performs better than my RC10T3. I think this might be my favorite Stadium truck at the moment. However, I just got a XXXT MF1 which I heard drives itself lol…..That one probably wont be up and running until the spring as I have a lot of catching up to do with other kits first.

      I love the paint scheme too. I might have to redo this paint scheme eventually. The body isn’t holding in too well.

      Maybe its time to retire that body and go for a repo one.

      Well I will eventually put out a video on the channel talking about the status of the race videos…. there will be some races but not as many as we would all like and the format is going to be a little different… I don’t want to give away too much…. But I’ll eventually explain in more detail in the video. Thanks for your support.

    Awesome video! That’s the thing about running vintage RCs. They do tend to break more easily. Appreciate you taking the risk so we get to enjoy nice content!😅 Glad it got fixed up in the end. Runs great!👍

      @RCRetro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. I added a chassis protector underneath too as it was in great condition. It had an easy life…. And I’d like to keep it in good condition. After that filming… I ran it in a race at Phils house against other guys and it held up nicely. I believe I placed 2nd. Altogether I really like the way it handled. Great stadium truck IMO….

    Nice video! Sabula Tech make a gear cover for them, I think. I inherited my brothers XXT and love driving it.

    • @RCRetro
      @RCRetro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I wanted an original gear cover prior to it breaking. I was trying to keep it all original. Then, the bulkhead snapped and I had no choice but to get a reproduction Sabula Tech one… I feel the exact same way, I love driving this one. By far, my favorite stadium truck….

      So far the bulkhead is holding up nicely. I ran it at a race at Phils and its still going strong. This might be one of my favorite stadium trucks maybe even one of my favorite “runners” overall.

    Front bulkhead was a common issue with that platform..And replacement parts are far and few between...and usually have quite a markup...

  • @broccli2007

    I think rusti design might make an aluminum bulkhead. Theyre a modern company making parts for the xx series, but they're based in Europe somewhere, France I think?

    raced one for 5 or 6 seasons back in the 90s never broke a bulkhead, dont recall breaking much of anything on the car actually. i didnt start having breakage until i switched to a rc10b4 graphite , i had to go back to glass/nylon arms to get strength back though also a great buggy in its own right. things that i didnt like were the hydraclutch thing,. made no sense to have that incorporated into a slipper. as it was not very easy to tune and seemed way to slow out of the corners for my driving style i replaced it with a traditional slipper clutch real early on.

    They need to make that bulk head a little stronger. I find it hard to believe that just a bump alone would snap it.

    • @RCRetro
      @RCRetro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey you saw it snap 2x in this video… Once from the other XXT that was featured on the channel, which was not mine and then mine. A lot of people shared in posts how week the bulkhead is but I didn’t believe it until we snapped 2 of them. Needless to say the Sabula Tech one is holding up nicely.

    Gil Losee designed the original rc10 and when Gene husting screwed galosi over he developed the grx2 which was very popular Junior developed the double x and that's when rc10 went back to the drawing board and created bel2 that was kind of a flop fully developed the B3 which what's more competitive and then the XXX what's developed so basically Associated has always been behind Team Losi from the very beginning

  • @bradkalman2353

    FYI the double XT debuted in 1993 the rc10 T3 didn't come until around 1997 when did XXXt debuted so you're not comparing things Apples to Apples it's always been that way the double XT should have been compared to a T2 which is a B-2 at the time Team Associated was trying to play catch up the B-2 socked the double XP was so much better and that's the history Team Losi compared to associated. Associated has always copied the TC3 is a copycat of the double action by the time that truck debuted Team Losi had already put out the XXX which was way better
