I swear got a 1994 Chevy and it turns out old owner wired one of these alarms into my truck and wired the door lock into it but what a surprise they gave up and didn’t power the alarm so the fix was so simple and I didn’t know it was there for years
What makes this wiring any different from a 94-93-92 c1500 truck or SUV. I need a tutorial for my 94 ,but I feel like the wiring colors and location would be the same, but the interior and dash did change in 1995 forward I was told keyless entry wiring is behind kick pod pre 95 . Did you wire in keyless through the column?
I got a 97 gmc sierra k1500 and it doesn’t come factory with keyless entry but im wanting to add keyless entry and remote start. What all will i need to get for that.
Looking to put something similar in my 91 Chevy truck. How close are the column and brake wiring to the vehicle you just did this install? I'm not worried about the door and hood pins. Just the remote start and keyless entry. Thanks! Nice video!!
Have a 1998 chevy silverado. Im not sure how or why you had to hook up the relay. I got mine to work but it throws engine codes and starter screetches and its shifting funny. I have no clue wat happend it started a couple of times just fine but now its problems. I just disconnected it and back to the drawing board. Oh yes sum times it just cranks n cranks but doesnt start. Any ideas? Thanx.
@@Fatzaddy_bo i ended up taking off my auxiliaries wire or ignition 2 and 3 wich would run your heater / or a/c. It starts , no codes n no more shift problems. Clear your codes also.
Hey Buddy Cheers from British Columbia Canada... Nice video but I have a question about removing this system ... Can I just cut the power to my command start ? I don't want to use it anymore and just need to know if removing the power wire is enough or would I have to completely remove the entire command start ? Thanks it's Wednesday May 5th 2021...
Lol cheers from BC here to. haha and yes you can cut the power or if harnesses are removable just remove the harneses. Now if it's a alarm and it has the starter wire cut in column you do need to solder that back together or the vehicle won't start easy to test by unplugging harness if possible and trying to start. If starter wire is cut chances are it was it's near ignition switch in steering column if that's were you slip your key in. Just look for the factory wire Cut in half and solder it back together. You can use a crimp if you aren't able to solder
So i would like to install a remote start into my 1996 Tahoe and was wondering what wires do i need to put relays or anything of the sort onto? Thanks!
hows is the remote start holding up? id like to put this on my 95 sierra. but i already have an alarm on it. you know if i would be able to add this or would u have to remove that alarm?
Isaia Falo is it factory or aftercare it's usually better to have both in one if after market but you can program the remote start usually to disarm the factory alarm and rearm after
I have a 1994 full size blazer which has the old school dashboard since they did the interior refresh in 95. It has a viper 1-way alarm right now with 3 button remote (lock, unlock, and aux which I hold down and it opens my rear window.) Do you think that it would be easier to install a new Viper/DEI alarm w/remote start since I already have a viper alarm (albeit old). I am mildly experienced with wiring in vehicles. I have installed numerous stereos, ive installed fog lights, hid's, as well as a couple sets of subwoofers and amplifiers. I have never worked on anything with as many wires as an alarm so whenever I see the pigtail for an alarm I basically shudder.
Easier to do a new unit. Do your research first, download the installation manual from a couple of brand models, then decide. I would recommend Prestige 997E. Also review more videos on full installations, you can get lots of tips. Get the wire info from wirecolor.com for $3.5 I often get wire info from fortin.ca installation diagrams.
I was just curious as to why you needed that relay? I'm installing a viper alarm with remote start in a 96 Silverado and I'm not sure if I need the relay as well. Thanks
i think the answer is at 3:20. It needs a second ignition high current wire. Other RS brands have the 2nd ignition relay built-in, such as the the Prestige 787E.
I had my viper alarm system installed like 2 weeks ago and now every time my key goes back from the off position the truck tries to crank over, but never turns on just a constant crank noise.

What wires are going into and coming out of the first relay you set up? The ignition ones.

Did you not have to use relays for the lock and unlock?
Tryin to hook up a viper 5305v alarm remote start on my 1998 chevy truck but you lost me with the relays. Can you help?

Can u explain what the “second starter” wire is all about? Thanks! Great vid.
Second ignition that is.
Where did you run ur relay for the starter the Engine lock relay
You don’t need a bypass module for a 96 c1500 for a viper remote start or how do you bypass the VAS

What if i want to remove the auto start.
thanks for stating what kind of vehicle your working on , lots of vids dont ! 👍😃
can u tell me how much the alrm system u got was and where can i find it
That model is now a legacy product. The newer models are better.

Ian Grover for the door locks
Where did you get vehicle wiring sheets from

Its aftermarket. Avital brand. How do you like the kit you used? Is it still holdin up?
I don’t have that pink wire for some reason there’s a red/blue and a blue/red the only two wires that im not sure about.

Will this work if it different car and different car alarm?
Every cars wiring colors are different
Love me some compustar! Well not this unit so much but their CM7200 is my go to for my customers!
i used to be a huge fan of viper until i got my hands on a compustar unit, and now its the only thing i will advise my customers to get!
i i i kikii iiiiii
Does this work for 99 suburban?
Eden The Subwoofer
It will work the same for a 99 suburban, except you need a pasock 2 bypass module
@@raniermorneau7850 so for a 96 c1500 single cab I don’t need a bypass module right
How do you hook up the relay?
Can remote start work on a 1994 Chevy truck ?
As long as it’s throttle body
The way he’s got it if you hit the dome over ride the alarm won’t work
Your lucky you did go higher on the harness I tapped from the bottom and would not give the start power until I put it before tht harness box
1996 s10. Do I have to change the polarity for the door locks? Would I use one or two relays?
At 15:22 you use the key fob to unlock the vehicle but you don't wire the keyless entry until 21:00. Am I missing something?
the tachometer cable connects the same in a 97 Chevy blazer
What is the tachometer wire for?
So that the system knows the vehicle is running. Without it, it will crank but not start.
I’m learning how to do my own alarm in my 96 I’m nervous lol
How manny relays do i need
2023 ... thanks ...
