So check this out... I got a mid 90s R50 Pathfinder I'm finishing up. Its an over-landing vehicle and has a slight lift, winch plate (building a bumper), and a 4-way integrated camera system with alarm trigger/alarm input movement sensor, and so on. I'm looking at the Viper as I want a 2-way with RPM display and stuff . Do you think that would be a good fit? I'm also planning some sort of actuator to raise the hand brake and kick it out of gear, then verify that it is indeed out of gear, then activate a relay allowing it to start. That's not something I've seen done before and should be interesting.
Any of the analog systems on the market will work BUT if you want a manual remote start I would HIGHLY suggest compustar and their das2 sensor. No need for and actuator or kick out of gear sillyness
What would you recommend for an 2006 Acura RSX Base model automatic? with leather seats, plan to have heated seats installed. Thanks in advanced great video.

Great video. Sorry to pile on the questions, but do you had a suggestion on a brand that would go well with a 2019 Subaru Forester key-start? The OEM remote start turns off the car as you enter and im looking for a better solution for my fiancé. Preference would be a 2 way. Any help would be appreciated!
Sorry to respond so late I would probably recommend anything from viper Or Compustar both brands have two harnesses for many vehicles including that Subaru. I would be more than happy to sell your parts that you need flashed for your car.
i havent seen any remote start that can put your car in accessory mode only remotely, what a shame, so many, but not one. how can you start if the engine is too cold, oil frozen. need to turn on accessory mode to power cigarette port and heat oil pan with heat pad connected to inverter thats connected to the cigarette port. if all this can be done remotely that would be nice. now screw remote start and just get a battery bank + smart plug to remotely control start heat pad, no need to run engine and waste gas when heat pad will heat up the engine.
I want to throw one in my 91 OBS ford truck. Very simple truck no locks or any powered accessories. Just on or off is what im looking for. Any particular brand or item you recommend?
This was AMAZING. Cleared up so much confusion for me. Question: Which system would you recommend for a 2019 Audi? Requirement would also include the ability to remote start over cellular. And I see a bunch of Maryland flag stuff in this video. Where are you? I'm coming to you man...
@absoluteelectronix7991 where in MD? I'm looking for a remote start on my 2013 Toyota Corolla LE. I also want to upgrade the seats to heated seats eventually.
I have what I suspect to be an old possibly analog compustar remote starter installed on a 2007 Toyota fj cruiser. We had purchased it used from a car lot with no remotes and I’ve purchased 1way am remotes since the antenna says 1way am on it and the problem is they don’t do anything I’ve tried multiple self programming sequences and I get the confirmation clicks and flashes from the module but the remotes never actually allow me to open, close, or start the vehicle. Any ideas as to what might be going on? Wrong remotes? Improper programming? Something else going on? I’m new to this just trying to get the already installed system going for cheap so we can remote start this winter haha.

My problem is with these remote starts, especially Compustar is that it requires a "dealer" install. You cannot install these yourself because they cannot be programmed by the user. I'm a consumer and I find it very annoying that I'm forced to pay someone to install it when a lot of these systems especially the ones with a vehicle specific harness, they're generally very simple to install yourself.
This is not to stop the end user; it is because they are modular. One size kind of fits all. You will need to get the appropriate flash module and harness. It makes less sense after you get tools you will use just once.
@@absoluteelectronix7991 I have a remote start and with long range remotes from 12 volt solutions in my Police Interceptor Utility, completely plug and play and self programmable. Anyone know how much Amps Viper use from battery?? Without remote starter power consuption is about 0.04Amps, after Viper 4205V instalation battery drainage is about 0.56Amps - it's normal or they connected in wrong way? Viper is killing battery within one week when you don't use car.

I have new battery in Honda Civic 1.8L, without starter installation I had 0.04Amp drainage. Now after Viper 4205V installation by "specialist" drainage is about 0.56Amps - looks to much for me and I wonder it's normal or they made something wrong because it killing my battery after long weekend when I don't drive car especially at winter
Just because you have a new battery doesn’t mean it was charged properly in the beginning AND if it’s been killed too many times it will not hold a consistent charge. You need to test battery and not assume it’s good. All signs lead to bad battery since it won’t die for a few days
