The clip of your dad helping out with merch orders was so wholesome. Makes me smile seeing how this little youtube family has had a positive effect on your own family ❤
Presumptuous? They both had full Time jobs, they’ve been able to do a dream job and quit work. Fish with his soul mate he met while fishing? His dads retired and gets extra income while helping his son achieve greatness. Alex Is off round the world doing what he loves, not really presuming much when it’s all to see
Not presumptuous :) I say in the video how much this channel has helped all of us. Dad worked hard all his life and now he gets to wind down a bit doing the merch!
I only just found your channel after 30 odd years of fishing and looking for inspiration for my 7yo son. You rekindled the fire of why I originally started fishing... No more just sitting in a bivvy waiting for the big carp. We're out fishing anywhere and everywhere just for the joy of fishing, big or small species. Thank you.
Ahh this is amazing, you're welcome mate. Amazing to be able to share fishing with your son and make lots of memories and having adventures together. So happy your passion is rekindled.
Absolutely loved this. Naomi has definitely come out of her shell and improved massively because of your assistance. Thank you both for a nice little video ❤
@@fishwithcarl that pond i was on about i could pm you the location would make a amazing video full of carp there to 20 pounder commons in there and a 15 pound ghost koi
This is like recreating those early years, when it was so fascinating, wondering what sort of fish you might catch. Love the fact you show so much respect to each fish you and Omi catch ❤👍
Putting it simply …THIS IS FISHING… every aspect of the village pond challenge is the fishing I know and love … you’ve really made me smile . Thank you 🎣🌞🌞
A good back to basics video which will inspire the new young anglers. Great to see you out with Omi who surely has had a good influence on you. All the best to both of you for the future.
dam i love it when you two go fishing together, it should be made into a film as in how you two met, and the rest is history. you really hit the jackpot.
These sessions are always so enjoyable, takes you back to where it all started. Had my first ever Goldfish at Finch Farm earlier this year during a Carp session, hit me on ledgered breadflake doused with fly larvae Powderz and was a chunky little fella at 1lb on the nose! Also, a big thank you for one of your recent videos about surface float fishing, popped down to the venue and had my first Golden Orfe after nearly 50 years on the bank!
Love your definition of fishing - totally agree! Many's the time when I knew fine well I had no bait on the hook and just couldn't be bothered to sort it because I was just relaxing. And Omi has become a properly good angler, I get the feeling she has in turn taught you to relax and take the stress out of life. It's such a shame so many village ponds have disappeared, I cut my teeth on one in a village called Over, in Cambridgeshire. It was restricted to U14s only and held loads of small roach, rudd, tench and small carp. There were endless rumours of a 'big one' but to my knowledge no one ever caught it, and I'm not sure anyone had ever even seen it - it was always a mate of a mate of a mate's brothers, uncle's dad. We used to have loads of fun there as kids with just a quarter pint of maggots (about 25p back then I think, maybe less), and if we were really skint then in summer we'd raid our bins for properly juicy, if rather smelly maggots. I know, a bit grim, but we were kids and didn't care! Pretty sure the pond is still there, and I hope kids are still fishing it.
Every time you post my day gets ten times better you got me and my son into fishing so thank you for all the good times ❤ also your book has helped me so much 😂
Wicked times to be had on little ponds, you never know what's in them. I teach fishing for kids with additional needs and disabilities, I couldn't agree more about how rewarding get the young generation into fishing is. Tight lines
Stumbled over your channel at the weekend and I feel like I've watched hours and hours already! I even went and bought a little float set up and went fishing alone yesterday for the first time in 15 years. I've just bought a cap to rock on my future fishing trips from your store as a thank you for getting me to enjoy fishing again
4:30 i am sure Omi is key in that one. She is an amazing woman who makes the world a better place. My ex has the same personality and she learned me so much as well. We need more people like them in our lives❤
Today I targeted a new lake. I was longing freshwater coarse fishing: bought a 4.5m telepole, 0.2 mono and maggots. Lately it's been all saltwater and I missed the finesse of the float. On our way I was shocked how swollen the local river was, so we took an hour detour and canoed in a flooded wheat field, the water levels after storm Hans still are +2m or more up! The forest lake turned out beautiful, it was a warm overcast august evening and my 4 yeard old son managed to catch his first roach and rudd! Then we canoed till sunset and I managed to land 2 pike out of 4 takes. During drive back it was a torrential downpour, which we survived and overall this has been a wonderful adventure. Fishing is the central motive of my life again, and I'm so glad it's so. I had abandoned fishing since my teens and this channel has been the axis of my fishtube. Thank you Carl.
What a nice change of pace, Carl. Really enjoyed this one! I think i speak for a lot of people here, when saying it is noticeable, that you've slowed down a bit, with uploads and such. And mate? That is such a good idea. Not only for your personal enjoyment, but also for mental health. We as your fanbase want what's best for you, and your family, always. It seems like you and Omi are very good, at taking care of each other, and keeping yourself grounded. Very lovely to see! Keep up your amazing work, and inspiring us to chase our dreams!
Another fab vid mate 👍😎🎣 Looks like you both had a great day in the sun. Lovely little spot . Keep the vlogs going mate , looking forward to future content . 👍😎
Would you ever like to go fishing in lithuania? I know you guys love travelling as most of your videos are about going to new places. The fishing in Lithuania is great and the weather is usually as good as the fishing, the reason being is because there's very little people living here so most lakes, rivers ect are wild and full of all kinds of fish, like chub, barbel grass carp, mirror carp, absolutely tons of perch and ect. If you ever decide to come here, we know a great place to stay, we will provide food and guidance on the lakes and rivers. Ask Alex as well as the wild life and mushrooms are much more plentiful than in England. You probably will not accept but please keep this in mind, as I think it would make a really fun video. keep making great videos, love ye chaps, cya ;)
Nice! Brings back memories. As a teen, outskirts of my town was a tiny old over grown clay pit. Accessible only down an overgrown track. Full of goldfish & shabunkins(!?), a handful of the old stock of carp, tench, perch, roach & rudd including dumped golden rudd. Some the mirror carp were absolute stunners! Dark hues & scaley...
Many yrs ago when I lived in Medford Oregon there was a field that had a fairly good size natural pond in the middle of it that was full of all kinds of goldfish, black moores, fantails, orandas, you name it, it was there. Found out that many yrs ago that area flooded and many local yard ponds washed out and the fish survived in this old field pond for many yrs. I would go and catch many for my fish pond at my house, and sold many ti the local pet shops in the area. I used nets and very small hooks to catch most of them. I never told anyone where or how I got them, but the property owner was cool with it and allowed my brother and myself to collect them, he also hated to see them lost out there as well...we also helped to restock his huge koi pond. Every visit the fish would come right out as they knew we came bearing food...fun times in those ole days. 🥰
Loved the video, showing people the pleasure of just being out fishing, no matter how big the fish or what type of water. Good for you. Ps loved the end with the dramatic music, and the running, a touch of irony towards most "big fish videos"😊
