Thanks just taking fishing back up but not as a avid pro approach but merely to get out in the landscape and enjoy simple fishing so these videos for me are brilliant
For all you budding anglers out there. I'd also suggest (winter days/nights) taking a large flask of tea & decent warm clothing beanie and neck warmers with you, for the very reasons Alex succumbed to. He was lucky not to of fallen in, doubly lucky Carl was with him. Hypothermia is serious stuff. Summer take the flasks & fill with cold liquids. As always guys, great uploads! 👍
Exactly how I also started, ever since my first fish caught I never stopped turned into a great obsession to the point where I saved up bought a boat and now I can say boating has opened a new door to fishing for me. Another great Video by the Best Bro's on TH-cam. Always a pleasure to watch!
Imagine loving an activity so much that you pass out before you stop 😂🤣 thats certainly a level of dedication that I cannot relate to, glad Alex is ok 💪
You guys have amazing videos, but what really fascinates me is the differences between UK and US fishing. I found your channel while looking for an explanation of feeder fishing, which is something that I've never heard of being done in the US, mainly because we don't target carp as a sport species. In fact, a lot of US anglers consider carp a nuisance species! The chub and dace you're targeting in this video are nothing more than bait stealers and catfish cutbait here in the states. No one really intends to catch them unless it's to use them to catch bigger fish (our largest minnow species is Fallfish, and I have a great appreciation for them, but no one else seems to care, lol)! Your tackle and techniques are so drastically different; I would never think of using a rod 12' in length unless it was a fly fishing rod, and one for nymphing at that. I'm not even sure it's legal in all 50 states to use groundbait. Maggots aren't a go-to live bait for us, we mostly use worms or nightcrawlers. It's always cool to me to see how things are done across the pond.
Light gear for small streams and small fish. Not all fishing here is about trying catch the biggest fish,it’s about multiple tactics, species and different venue types for most anglers.
@@lukescovell8294 It's not that we don't use maggots/larvae in the states, it's just that there are better alternatives like nightcrawlers, red worms, minnows, etc. In the states, we have many more large predatory fish so the use of larvae is rare outside of the northern states where they use it for ice fishing and trout streams.
Youd be shocked, here in belgium most anglers fish with a solid pole without a reel even, its so completely different. 12ft is a short one, they can easily be 30ft or more
Maggots may not have a mind like a human but I've known some humans with the mind of a maggot. "Two thousand years later" I love it!!!! Great jobs as usual.
🤣🤣🤣watching this and you just saying about the book Carl did just reminded me to by it so I just did and looking forward to it. you see iv carp fished for so long iv forgot all the river fishing now iv got the kit and a book to help so thanks lads I’m looking forward to learning loads again and having fun along the way keep up your good work 👍🏻✌🏻
Love the explanation about knowing when to float fish and when to use the feeder. I haven't tried feeder fishing but having watched this going to for sure give it a try this year. Cheers lads.
Hey Carl & Alex! First of all i love your video's about fishing. you guys present fishing in a nice, calm and informative way. i absolute appreciate the tips and tricks you give to the people on TH-cam. And give people who love to fish the best chances to catch something their selves. Thank you for making and sharing these video's and keep it up! Greetings from the Netherlands! Fish on!

Love the Red Fin!!! I was fishing last week for em in a place called Lane Pool Dwellingup, I used a spinner or a Z-Man bronze grub and a Z-Man streakZ. I got three Red Fin and one Cobbler, I put the Cobbler back and we had the three Red Fin for dinner that night, we shared them with the people camping just down the road from us as we had ample. The Red Fin are classed as invasive species in this part of the world so no size or bag limitations. I just found your channel, very enjoyable. All the best from Western Australia!!!
I have just moved back from Canada and I can't wait to get out and do some small river fishing, I have missed it so much.. What a beautiful spot this is, really enjoyed watching this video, very professional

Good fun those little streams...my resolution for many new years now is to calmly alertly abide in dog packed fishing area's. My philosophy for this year is to not be gutted when I loose a very large beautiful carp in a river where they are very very hard to come by....as happened 2 hrs ago.. barbless hook came out at bank..fumbling with net...rarher to see it as an interesting learning experience...
I am a big fan of your channel for years now. Love ur passion for fishing. Will be awesome to see you guys fishing with hard artificial baits such crankbaits amd so on, where I live maggots and worms as very expensive, so feeders are no option for me. Cheers from Switzerland

A great video, I can't wait to get fishing again. I'm looking for a light weight rod and reel for light float fishing and small lures. What would you recommend?
How do you guys preserve maggots ? Do you go buy them every time you go out fishing or you keep the ones you didn't use at home until next fishing trips? Also does it work keeping them in the freezer ? Are they any good when you get them out ? (Gotta know if making my mom mad is gonna be worth it or not)
I personally try to buy fresh each time and have a local tackle shop to me so fairly easy, a few of my mates aren’t as close as me they tend to keep them in a fridge or even freeze them, they usually thaw out, not all will survive but dead maggots can be just as meatball as wiggly ones

I fish with the lead on streams for trout. Is there a way I can prevent fish swallowing the hook?
Great video! When feeder fishing should you always cast upstream or downstream? Or can both work?
Casting slightly downstream results in better stronger bites which are easier to detect, however both will work.
Plz do then you can send the simple fishing book to danmark 🤞😄
Hopefully one day if the Brexit rules change!
