- Loretta Lynn performs "Coal Miner's Daughter" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

So pretty! Love Loretta!
Jesus that banjo player was fucking the whole song up! was I the only one who heard that?!
no you're not
That's Mike Caldwell who passed away on 2/1/23. This video was posted on FB recently, just before he passed and he said, "Thanks for posting Keith... but I HATE that banjo had gone horribly out of tune and I had no banjo in my monitor! Apologies!"
She stopped them in the one video
The band couldn't hear, you can tell by the increase of tempo during the 1st verse. Also, the bass player could hear and adjusted. The banjo was out of tune with no monitor, he didn't know.
wow i remember this i was there Loretta was not happy they all messed up big time they couldnt get her key or play it that wasnt her orginal band felt so bad for her
Jesus that banjo player was fucking the whole song up! was I the only one who heard that?!

RIP Mike Caldwell. When this video was shared on FB just before he passed on 2/1/23, his response about the banjo was, "Thanks for posting Keith... but I HATE that banjo had gone horribly out of tune and I had no banjo in my monitor! Apologies!"
awesome, thanks a lot
Even though the band kept messing up she did amazing as always
She kept on singing like a pro. Making the best of a not so good instrumental situation.
The instruments are actually excellent, they increased the tempo in the first 8 bars, never missed any notes during 3 modulations, and the steel guitar player is a boss.
That banjo sounded rough

God blessed this Woman greatly .
Loretta took care of her mom before going to a nursing home, She also helped Crystal get started and Betty sue could sing was in Crystals band, one of the boys had butcher hollow and would show it and another one owned the store close to Butcher hollow. the rest of the kids I don't know but if she took care of everyone she would be broke. door was wasting the money so she got an accountant.
What are you talking about? Who was Door?
@@tonyharris3306 doolitle maybe , her husband
That band is horrible, but Loretta pulls it off.
She's so pretty I love this its my favourite song from Loretta.. God bless u Loretta Lyn
Bad bad the music is not professional. My God they mess it all up.
This band accompanying Loretta kindly pissed me off. (I'm pretty sure they did her too.) They weren't able to keep it right even WHEN THEY WERE RIGHT! That banjo player though...wow.

The sound engineer needs to be FIRED !!!
If it's any consolation they are most likely long dead.
