That’s awesome to have that common interest between you and your son. What a great way to bond and make memories . As a father as well, seeing your son’s smile and genuine appreciation made me smile too. Better keep them grades up little man. 😊
Best father & Son Duo! You guys gave that Crx a lease on life. Sebastian will forever remember this moment. You guys killed it! 👍👍Keep the content coming!
I would LOVE that HF transmission! I just got my D16y8 running in a classic Mini with 10" wheels an the HF has a much better final drive than the D16y7 transmission I'm using currently. The HF ratios are almost impossible to find. I love that you did this with your son! My eldest son helped me rebuild his D17 motor and transmission on his Acura EL.
Absolute best 1st car you could've gotten him 1000%! Just beyond amazing seeing the huge smile on his face and how stoked he is to have it! My face hurts from smiling with you guys watching this! ❤ welcome to the Ef gang Sebastian! Your now a lifer!
That's a sweet first car. Mine was an '85 prelude Si. I remember when I was around Sebastians age and my dad walking me through how to do my first timing belt job, good memories.
I had a '91 CRX Si and seeing these videos makes me miss it so much. I have my late son's '91 Civic Hatch that he started and I will be finishing. Your video's with your son are very motivating for me, so that you for that. Oh, and the Del Sol wheels are my vote.
Great family bonding time ! Enjoy the time with each other….. imho I’d like to see a 2 tone hf wheels on the crx, also u might want to make sure the bushing is good on the arm that actuates the throw out bearing
I love to see that father son experience and work together for the one goal. My son and I did the same, almost same age as Sebastian. Now he is waiting for the drivers licence to go for a ride. Really great to see you and your son. This will be a lifetime memory ❤ Greetings from Germany. 🍻
HX wheels for the win ! I run the 99 sir wheels on my 88 crx si. My son also turn 14 years old last week and he is also pushing me to get my 91 crx si special edition to run again.( with a build d16a6, bullfrog cam fully ported head and p29 piston, obd1 tuned on chrome) love your channel .
Really really nice father and son video , hope you all had some fun 😊 what an awesome 1st car , he is a really lucky kid Hope he will continu to work on it ! Maybe one day swap a b16😇 great work guy’s
Such a Great feel-good video! John, that montage you put together at the end is a trip. We've literally watched this young man grow up before our eyes over the years. Just seeing Sebastian working on his car and already taking such pride in his work really does my heart good. Having you and George around to show him the ropes... man, it gets no better than that.👌🏼 You can just see the joy in his smile. Way to go, Sebastian! Keep at it, buddy! You're definitely worthy of wearing that LHT Performance shirt.😎👍🏼 Y'all take care and have a great tomorrow!
Man you are such a great father. Reminds me how shitty my dad was... It's awesome to see that there are amazing fathers out spending quality time with their kids!
HX wheels for looks and weight, but I have them on my ‘99 HX and with light suspension mods the car is under tired- I would suggest slightly wider wheels and tires down the line to pair with that suspension set-up to get the most out grip and brake for the kiddo. And light makes right! Great vid
im doing the same thing with my son. With a 1993 honda prelude. Got him an engine now we need a timing belt, water pump, clutch And motor mounts or motor mount inserts. Awesome video.
I had a 4-1 DC sports header I bought for my d16y7/y8 mini-me swapped ek hatch, it was my first header. I still have the car 24 years later major project now.
Im running R12 in my 1988 civic nice and cold.. have 5 spare cans just in case. These compressors are pressure sensitive so you need the correct amount in the system ! 31 oz r12 and 4.50 oz mineral oil. Sanden - Matsushita is 33 oz and 5 oz mineral oil.
Had a HF and a DX as pizza delivery cars back in the day.. Took the Dx to an auto-x and came in 3rd place out of like 30+ cars.. the Dx came with coilovers from the previous owner and it would seem to oversteer when breaking loose, which I thought was uncommon and quite fun for a FWD.. I just remember there was an elevated highway exit ramp in cincinnati, by the GE plant where you could kinda 'drift' the whole 180degree turn. fun times
Get an exedy oem replacement clutch for about $110. Replace the throwout and pilot bearings with oem bearings. That clutch is currently handling 135hp and 118 torque in my 89 si that I vtec head swapped with a comp cams Stage 2 cam and it has oem clutch feel.
So cool! Hes finally ready to drive!! Excited for more son amd dad videos of wrenchin on the rex. I do prefer the hx wheels over the delsol. Refinish them in the same color as the k-sights hx wheels...(dark gunmetal) i think? Witht he red h emblem
Dejavu my dad did exact same thing when he gave me a crx for my first car I remember the problem we had was the battery terminal were corroded and I had a coke in my hand he said let me show u something then he poured some onto battery terminals and it ate all the corrosion away I'll never forget that
Really cool to see Sebastian working in his CRX with his dad. He's always gonna remember these moments.
I think so. I always remember working with my Dad.
Sebastian is one blessed son to have as cool a Dad as John!❤
🙏.Like all Dads, I do my best give him better than what I had.
Congrats on the new car!
Me and my grandpa are also restoring a CRX that sat in his for the past 25 years.
That’s awesome
Love seeing a positive smilling kid in this day and age. He'll be forever grateful dad. Good job!
This one made me smile like no other. From one father to another, I hope you had a great Father's Day! This is great stuff!
Thanks my friend, I spent it with my Wigan’s kids on the boat. I hope you had a great day too.
Passing on the tradition. Congrats! On the new car Sebastian. Fantastic work John, start ‘em young!
Wild how some of us have literally seen him grow up and slowly get into cars. Love it
What a difference an engine makes! Congratulations, Sebastian!
That’s awesome to have that common interest between you and your son. What a great way to bond and make memories . As a father as well, seeing your son’s smile and genuine appreciation made me smile too. Better keep them grades up little man. 😊
John is a great guy and great father. Sebastian looks stoked! Great to teach them while they are young. He’s going to love it!
So wholesome!! man john pat yourself on the back for being a good father!
Thanks my friend. We often try to give what we didn’t get.

Father and son car builds are the best, I grew up working on my dad's 69 chevy shortbed with him, and my son helps me on occasion with my EG.
This is so awesome happy for you Sebastian. Seriously that smile when it fires
Your shop puts out awesome work. It’s more awesome to see you teaching your son.my dad taught me a lot and my son and I are the same.👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
That's a sweet first car. Mine was an '85 prelude Si. I remember when I was around Sebastians age and my dad walking me through how to do my first timing belt job, good memories.
Very nice. Good job Sebastian! Probably gonna be the only kid at school that knows how to drive a manual transmission.
I was thinking that too. In middle school, he had two friends into cars. They don’t seem to care about them these days.
I had a '91 CRX Si and seeing these videos makes me miss it so much. I have my late son's '91 Civic Hatch that he started and I will be finishing. Your video's with your son are very motivating for me, so that you for that.
Oh, and the Del Sol wheels are my vote.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the kind words and I’m glad you’re motivated too. It’s a great car and I hope helps with some great memories
Great family bonding time ! Enjoy the time with each other….. imho I’d like to see a 2 tone hf wheels on the crx, also u might want to make sure the bushing is good on the arm that actuates the throw out bearing
I dream of this moment with my son..congrats fellas

Really great to see you and your son. This will be a lifetime memory ❤
Greetings from Germany. 🍻
It’s great to see you taking the little man under your wing. I hope that he is able to hold onto that car forever.
That’s such an awesome experience for the both of you! Incredible first car, I do like the HX wheels myself!
Exedy OEM clutch is what I use on my Cars !! I put a new OEM Honda clutch cable as well ! Drives amazing !
That is one happy kid you got there John🙌🏼 good job teaching him
Nice father and son bonding. Cant wait for my son to get into cars too. I like the Del Sol wheels over the HX
We need more Sebas project, pretty nice Dad working with Son, Awesome content

That's a good incentive to keep his head down and do well at school 👍. Also, his neutral waggle needs some work but that comes with experience 😁😁.
Absolutely love the wheels that are on it , something slightly different to Del sol wheels. Congratulations Sebastian, you deserve this car mate👊
Really really nice father and son video , hope you all had some fun 😊 what an awesome 1st car , he is a really lucky kid
Hope he will continu to work on it ! Maybe one day swap a b16😇 great work guy’s
What an awesome time capsule share! How cool!🎉

🙏. Thanks Mick ! He really enjoyed working on his car and seeing what goes on in the shop. He also didn’t realize working in 96F+ shop.
I just had my 1990 CRX Si linkage and shift tod redone today... all new bushings and poly as well. I have that DC sports header my CRX.
Man you are such a great father. Reminds me how shitty my dad was... It's awesome to see that there are amazing fathers out spending quality time with their kids!
Things change with you. I had a step father that used to abuse me, it helped made me.
Ahhh, Nopi days, lived 20 minutes away from ATL motor speedway and went almost every year from 99 and up. Those days was fun
HX wheels for looks and weight, but I have them on my ‘99 HX and with light suspension mods the car is under tired- I would suggest slightly wider wheels and tires down the line to pair with that suspension set-up to get the most out grip and brake for the kiddo. And light makes right! Great vid

I’ve always loved the hx and cx wheels but those del sols do look really clean on the crx so they get my vote!
That was also my first header for my 89 crx. Dc sports coated.
Great video, so damn heartwarming. I’m proud of Sebastian! And I like the wheels on it.
I had a 4-1 DC sports header I bought for my d16y7/y8 mini-me swapped ek hatch, it was my first header. I still have the car 24 years later major project now.
HX wheels forsure!!
Also you’re a kick ass dad💪🏽💪🏽
i had a 91 HF as my first honda back in the late 97-98. loved it.
I still remembering gutting my friends cath on his crx so he could race a kid from class.....nostalgia lol
What a great video. Awesome car Sebastian! John go with the HX wheels(IMO). No matter which way you go, at 14 he has one of the coolest cars around.
Great Video !!!! Bringing them back
Awesome!! Can never go wrong with greddy muffler for crx or DA
Greatest car dad to ever have 😎👍🏻
really cool,
I still remember the videos in which you used to pick him up at school in an NSX
He remembers it too. I’ve tried to pick him up on his birthday and last day since he was tiny.
I would love a CRX one day!
Wow that’s cool to watch passing your legacy to your son 🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙👍👍👍👍👍
Great high school car. I had one.
I had Mugen CF48's on my '89 ; but between your two choices I'd choose the HX rims
John this is amazing brother.
Such a cool thing to do together ❤️
nice work Sebastian!
John, you are a wonderful father.
🙏
Nice D series build! I think I can take on this CRX in my EF Hatch with the DOHC ZC you guys build for me a few months ago...

Wicked job man love what you are doing for the boy sweet car for a first car, I see him wanting a k20 upgrade in the soon near future lol.
Oh no. Not yet. lol.
Get an exedy oem replacement clutch for about $110. Replace the throwout and pilot bearings with oem bearings. That clutch is currently handling 135hp and 118 torque in my 89 si that I vtec head swapped with a comp cams Stage 2 cam and it has oem clutch feel.

Sick car Seb!
Love crx’s. Classic
Sebastian is the man!
Very cool.
Love the father son time. I say keep the hx wheels
Dejavu my dad did exact same thing when he gave me a crx for my first car I remember the problem we had was the battery terminal were corroded and I had a coke in my hand he said let me show u something then he poured some onto battery terminals and it ate all the corrosion away I'll never forget that
22:36 Brian's Eclipse from Fast and the Furious :3
Way to go Sebastian!
This was awesome
as a parent ! that's cooll 😍😍😍😍
Someone needs to pick that motor up and turn it into a mini-me.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!
HX wheels in white!
Del Sol Wheels 👍🏻
Father and son working on a car, priceless! Does he get a B series when he graduates HS?
He gets the car if his grades are B or better. If not. No car.
I actually like the del sol wheels
What brand of clutch are you going to put in it since OEM clutches are no longer available?
lucky kid having a car dad
The Vtec Van Gogh, I would love for you to supercharge my Ilx just paid it off with 50k miles
Definitely HX wheels
granny shifting double clutching sebastian
Del sol wheels👍🏼
DEL SOL Wheels!!
You have to get a PDR guy to address the dent in the hood. You can't have Sebastion pick up his girlfriend with a dent in the hood. ;-)
All it needs now is some black Slips :)
that is a nice car,
Is it still standard practice to modify the stock harness for a b swap in a EF, or is everyone going with aftermarket harness?
More after market harnesses we’ve seen run super thin wires that have problems when you sneeze of the weather changed. I’d much rather run oem.
Coolest kid ever
Awesome!!
Cool!
