The King of Fighters XIII combo video showcasing what EX Iori Yagami is capable of, be that old, new, practical or impractical.
COMMENTS
None of the combos from the earlier version made it into this one. Even though I've made an EX Iori combo video ages ago, he's actually one of the least touched characters in the roster for me simply due to the amount of execution needed to push his potential and the difficulty in understanding how to optimize his damage output. He can empty cancel his rekkas (first or second hit) to decrease recovery time, allowing him more options on how to combo, such as an infinite, which can obviously lead to a stun but you get the idea. EX Iori is also one of the few characters in the game with the least amount of 100% combos but I've been able to add in some into the video.

Combo in KoF XIII looks way more sick than XIV imo.

@@yaranyin4746 Even to this day snk has yet to catch on 3D or to be exact to demark itself.
SNK used to be the king of sprites animations.
It came up very late on 3D given that it skipped the ps3 era. The result is that even though the models of KOF XV are way better than those of kof XIV you can feel a certain rigidity in character animations.
I never had my finger on it but when i saw orochi chris whose flame were so hot that the blazing heat agitated his dress and hair in kof 97-2002 now with almost static hair and clothes?
Not all characters have that problem but it shows up on most of the short haired-cut late characters.
SNK didnt release Kim early because his pants animation has yet to be fully revamped. Kof XIV had a very ugly Kim animation and they have been trying to fix that.
@@rdcarbonk1885 yeah there's so much fluidity in pixel art that doesn't transfer to 3d without very specific intent. Check 2002 Angel vs 2022 Angel and all of the expressiveness of her hair is gone since it's basically glued to her head. They're still very reverant to the traditions set up by the 2d titles tho so hopefully they can stage a comeback with expressive characters like sf6.

In his defense, Iori calls it a necessary evil. I assume that his excuse for fighting as viciously as he does is so he has to fight less.

Kurogane Tenzen if you mean the "Orochi Iori" Special when he goes ape sht smashing the enemy on the floor,it was removed 'cause Lore stuff,this classic iori is the variable of his flames, and he can control his orochi blood instead of going ape sht

Now that you mention the Lore, SNK missed an opportunity to give said 'eating' version of SDM Ya Otome back in KoF XI--especially when one takes the Kyo & Iori Team ending into account. That would've not only fit into the lore, but also serve as a call back to '96 where we saw Iori's 'eating' Ya Otome for the very first time without understanding why (until the '96 Yagami Team ending of course).
Probably the same reason why they didn't give Kyo his 99' moveset (Which has his 182 Shiki and 127 shiki Yano Sabi move.) The Super Desperation move of EX iori is the same as Iori's Super desperation move in Kof 99.

Well, that Saiki infinite shows that KoF XIII isn't bound by anything remotely resembly the SF4 juggle potential system. *LOL* Seriously though, amazing vid!
+Robert Chase Yeah. For the most part, combos come to a natural end. Flame Iori's is one of only two even REMOTELY match-practical infinites in the game.
ToD's aren't uncommon, but they tend to require tons of resources, and often require extra circumstances as well, such as particular starting screen positions and/or maximized starters.
+Grant Larson Yeah, which is something I do appreciate about KoF XIII. There are long ass combos, but it's not like UMvC3 where you can pretty well do ToD's at will with the right assists. I suck at Marvel and even I have a few reliable ToDs that aren't terribly resource heavy. LOL

0:26 how did you do Oniyaki (Drive cancel) to Aoibana? I always failed it. After Qcf+C, i did Qcb+A, it always did desperation move of Qcf Hcb + A

I think I got it. Do the dp earlier than expected, then do the qcb A a little bit later.
If I'm inaccurate or it doesn't work, try avoiding a ↘ when performing the qcb A after the dp.

I don't understand the "xx" part in your combo description, can you please explain? the second one (Saiki infinite), I really need a long explanation of that. Thanks in advance.
+Md. Imran Hossain It indicates that the move before the "xx" is canceled into the move after the "xx".
In Saiki's combo, he's basically using Iori's rekka cancel for the infinite. His rekka cancel doesn't use the drive meter, but is a precise input of his Ya Otome DM with a bit of delay after the second hit so it will cancel freely instead of activating his DM
How are you able to from Iori's EX Rekka (2) into his shinigami axe kick? No matter what I do, it just doesn't seem like it's possible to connect since it takes way too long for the action to be performed, and to land
+Pivotman99 You have to do an empty cancel by inputting his QCF-HCB P super after inputting his two rekkas. That will shorten the recovery and allow you to get the axe kick to connect. The timing for all of that is very strict though.

Can you please explain the 1st combo I don't understand what qcf-hcb-p means, i do know qcf means quarter circle forward and hcb means half circle back but what does the p mean.

Have you found that this game has more versability than all before but the timing is a bitch and must be exact?
this Xlll is heavier than what the game was kinda dissapointing...
these combos are extremely difficult to pull off... the timing window is extremely minute and you have to be right on the dot, especially when going into drive mode... they made it easier in kof xv to go into quick mode as the character will dash forward automatically instead of doing the command manually. So these combos are a lot more difficult in xiii.. I wish kof xv had same graphics as xiii

How come all combos start with a jumping hit, what if your opponent knows that’s all you got to start a combo?
_Then just skip the jump heavy attack step....._ it’s that obvious, there’s also the hyper hop option which kinda help you with your opponent trying to predict your jump attack
I can never get any of these combos in the stupid mobile version, the game won't let me do the same move twice in the row and hit the opponent
+Wayne Wang The mobile has different properties because there's no variation on the moves.
Read it as the rekka example - the LP version can be linked from a DP cancel, but the HP version can't.
What I meant is that the game only gives you the HP version of the rekka, thus limiting your combo possibilities.
There are very few chars that can do decent combos, don't worry it's not your fault. There's nothing you can do about it... I guess.
yeah, repetitive moves are not available in mobile, but if you put some time into it, you can find some 100% combos. check out my channel, i got some good combos in iOS

You can actually link rekka into the dp and back into the rekka on mobile. You just need to do the second rekka REALLY late or do it really fast and only get the first and last hit.
I think we all start with no power in the bar, by the time it goes full, the opponent is almost dead so it’s kinda useless to use these combos anyway
But for example, you're almost defeated at 1% life gauge, while the enemy has full health. What would you do 👁️👄👁️

How can you drive cancel dp into rekka without canceling into super? Maybe your input is a clean 623 instead 6236, I always accidentally cancel dp into super because my input is 6236C-214A.

@@joeoc3562 Look at the numpad of your keyboard, the numbers are the directions with 5 being neutral.
Here's some basic examples of numpad notations translated into traditional Street Fighter notation:
236 = Quarter Circle Forward (QCF)
214 = Quarter Circle Back (QCB)
623 = Shoryuken/Dragon Punch (DP)
41236 = Half Circle Forward (HCF)
63214 = Half Circle Back (HCB)

Well,it's only available when you're in HD mode,and it's possible with most supers,including Iori's. Just input the command for NeoMax during the super... However,for some supers,it's not possible

Alexandre Oliveira Mas como se a segunda parte tem o mesmo comando da primeira? Sendo um movimentos de três golpes, se você continuar o comando, ele continua e não cancela. Só se cancela um movimento com outro movimento ou com sua versão ex.
Inclusive, em um dos modos missão, há uma sequência na qual Iori usa apenas o segundo golpe desse movimento (de três hits), mas ele faz a primeira parte sem acertar o adversário (em queda), continuando da segunda.

I can't find this game, is it available on mobile?
It is, but I’ve not played it. The better version is on XBox. If you can get it on XBox 360, it’s backward compatible, so you can play it on XBox One. Mobile isn’t as good at all, as you only have Attack, Special, and NeoMax I think, rather then having a HP, HK, LP, HP. Mobile’s probably better for beginners. Try finding an XBox 360 instead of getting mobile version.
tl;dr? The game is only for XBox 360, but it is backward compatible. There is a mobile version, but it’s more beginner orientated. If you want to hone your fighting game skill with an arcade stick, get it for XBox.

when i play in android there's no combo .-.
The mobile versions of KOF XIII isn't really the same as the console versions, most comboes can't land, there's no infinite iori in mobile as well.
There's also some minor changes to the normal and special moves so some of these will be undo-able

By now you should know but at the second rekka do the command of Iori super move, it speeds up the end animation of the second rekka. However don't do it early because you will end up super canceling if you do it too early.
Good luck doing it because it's probably one of the hardest things to do in the entire game
By the way it's called empty canceling.
