You mean the age of rust? The golden age was just for the high and middle caste. I would love it if megatron captured optimus,arcee,ratchet,bumblebee, wheeljack and bulkhead and using the pychic pach to show them what it was like for the low caste. Megatron may accidentally reveal how he saw orion pax as the little brother he never had and how he didn't just feel betrayed by orion but also how he felt like he failed him by giving him to the council.

My headcanon is that the Quintessons created the Rust Plague as a final "screw you" to the Cybertronians.

I think that too. Because I don’t think that they would flee off in Transformers: Aligned Continuity without the revenge, after they were drove off from Cybertron by Cybertronians themselves.

Considering the fact that Rust Plague was based on the Black Death, as well as the popular theory of how the Black Death was introduced to Europeans (the Mongol Golden Horde army-whose troops were suffering from the disease-catapulted infected corpses over the city walls of Kaffa to infect the inhabitants during a protracted siege, which included Genoese traders who inadvertently brought the disease to mainland Europe), I wouldn't be surprised if the Quintessons did create the Plague as a weapon.
Golden Age? More like Gilded Age. A Gold/Platinum sheen on a society rusted to its core.

The golden age in the original transformers was super literal since the planet was literally golden, at least from what the rebirth showed us XD
I mean it makes sense.
Since their Civilisation peaked at that point they could prabably afford to renovate their cities with more prescious metals.
And since the majority of their world is covered in city structures, the planet would as a whole have a golden hue.

Dude, the covenant of primus can be an entire TV show. The story of the primes in of itself is probably the most inspiring, but every chapter is just so damn good and deep

In other words, they flew too close to the sun and got burned. The price of reckless expansion.

depends on which continuity you're referring to. But yes, pre-war cybertron was definitely a horrible place to live in the idw continuity. Megatron was a saint compared to sentinel prime.
The golden age gave birth to Megatron, to elegantly quote myself "Only a monster can give birth to a monster".
From what I understand, and I may be wrong about this, Optimus feels as though doing away with the Caste system will create equality among the individuals of Cybertron to be free to have the opportunity to make one's own path, it will just come naturally to Cybertronians to know what is the right thing to do in this regard, and I totally agree with the goodness Optimus sees in others, and his overall idea. However, from my experience in general, if individuals are not shown another way of being, they tend to go back to what is familiar to them, usually out of fear of the unknown, especially if there is not a model to follow when uncertainty, or disagreement arises about how to structure a new society based on these principles, how can one know what equality is if they have only ever been above it or below it, and as a result, inadvertently create a restructured version of the same thing, that will eventually degenerate right back into what it was.

I Have a new theory on the TFP rust plague I made in the comments of what was the golden age in transformers prime video.
What if the rust plague only affected the outer armor but left the protoform matter unharmed trapping the bot frozen but they could still see and feel until their spark gos out or for them to be taken by the quintessons?
what if the protoform and natual formed basic armor on the body was a diffrent kind of metal you know the type that is resistant to rust like a strong verson of platinum or stainless steel but the outer armor was a type that rusts some one then maybe there's a metal that's highly resistant to rust.
Like the metal on the relics! Has anyone noticed that non of them has rust? Or that sharkticon have armor that resistes rust since sea water can cause rust over time so their bodies adapted and their planet is a colony of forgotten cybertronian and those colonies would of adapted and over millions of centuries their bodies metal could have gotten more resistant to rust but what if the 'rust plague' just increased the sensitivity of the outer armor to corrosion with a high concentrate to the planet. Yes it was cyberformed but the weather and other facters of the original state still remained humidity from suns, vapor from any water still in the planet and let not forget that some colonies of them had oxygen. So yes it wasn't just oxidation but made their armor extremely affected by the planet it self.
I finish reading transformers retribution there was a quintesson tech if Soundwave some how just hacked into it's DATA base he could of found a cure or the ingredients were already on cybertron. Or perhapse that synthetic energon wasn't just a new form of energon but the cure for the rust plague that would also strengthen protoform matter the formula was written and sent off in a battery but it was missing one element cybermatter from a partly cyberformed planet.
I think cogwheel may of sent it off world just in case and may of hoped Ratchet would find it but nether he nor Shockwave knew it.
The Golden Age ended when the Gold Plastic started crumbling.

Did anyone else find it supspeses that the council desided to destroy the space briges insted of just I don't know turning them off? Or the fact that they didn't even bother to send a recurech team to find a way to cure the rust plague?

Would you ever do TFP "What Ifs"? If so, could you do a What If where, In TFP: Beast Hunters, Shockwave was able to succeed in cloning his Predacon Amry on both Earth AND Cybertron?

No, that's a different plague
We can see in that episode that it isn't a rust plague, not only does Optimus not rust at all, but it also acts completely differently.
Also,the Cybiotic plague is transmitted only thought infected energon while the rust plague can be transmitted by touching any metal.

If they developed anything simmilar to plastic or other synthetic polymers could have help, but so far in most continuities everything cybertronian is metal.

I really do wonder how much time passes between and throughout each age on Cybertron though. It feels like a few decades or centuries, but some of it has to take like millions of years, or what?
The toughest part about Cybertronian history is figuring out/knowing how much time passes/has passed.
I also have not seen any part on the wiki mention Starscream's creation, so I have no idea when he is supposed to have been created.
My guess is some time during the Golden Age though, but eh, I don't know.

Still this version is better than a jerk Prime and hate sink from Animated or traitor with god-like complex from Movies. But if we speaking about the most tolerable version of Sentinel Prime, then it would be Marvel G1 version, since he is more benevolent and not corrupt like others.

In Aligned, all the bots come from The Well, so no, at least not in this one

So basically Black Death on steroids and slow acting enough that it could become wide spread. This makes me wonder if they have any form of immune system or are just like sentient machines. I don't know if they did but they should have tried to ask other non machine races to try and help them find a cure for them which would probably had a chance of succeeding. If us humans were involved we would probably used a plastic container to keep it locked in while studying it. (I know this is before they meet humans, but there were probably other organic races that would done the same)
I also believe that there would end up being colonies that survive the plague by seeing shit starting to go down and closed or destroyed their bridge before it reached them.

Yes they cut themselves off from the 200 colonys leaving them to starve to death to make sure cybertron wasn't effected by the rust plague you can tell he ordered this to happen out of panic and his choice would effect millions.
