Better Call Saul is an American crime drama television series created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a spin-off, prequel, and a sequel to Gilligan's previous series, Breaking Bad. Set primarily in the early to middle part of the 2000s in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series develops Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), an earnest lawyer and former con artist, into an egocentric criminal defence attorney known as Saul Goodman. Also shown is the moral decline of retired police officer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), who becomes closely affiliated with the Juarez drug cartel to support his granddaughter and her widowed mother. Jimmy and Mike's interactions remain sporadic until their respective storylines fully converge. The upcoming sixth and final season of the AMC television series Better Call Saul is set to premiere on April 18, 2022, in the United States, and will consist of 13 episodes split into two parts. The second half of the season will premiere on July 11, 2022. The season will also be streamed on AMC+ in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally. Better Call Saul is a spin-off prequel of Breaking Bad created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Bob Odenkirk (Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman), Jonathan Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut), Rhea Seehorn (Kim Wexler), Patrick Fabian (Howard Hamlin), Michael Mando (Nacho Varga), Tony Dalton (Lalo Salamanca), and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring) will reprise their roles from previous seasons. It has been confirmed that Brian Cranston and Aaron paul's Walter White and Jessie Pinkman will also return in the final season of Better Call Saul.

Breaking Bad Season 2 is ranked way too high. it was the only bad season between the two shows
Better Call Saul is the most satisfied I've ever been with a series. Even more so than BB. But my favorite season of both was BB season 5. I'm not even sure I could rank the BCS seasons because it was all extremely consistent for me.

The first half is very slow
Literally every season (apart from maybe like season 2 both shows (well phoenix ig)) has a really strong episode, season 3 BCS has two imo, lantern and chicanery, and season 5 and 6 both have several
BCS season 4 definitely has a lot of slow build up, but I kind of loved how it all paid off, with Jimmy's layered response to Chuck's death and the building of the superlab.
Not to mention the introduction of the second best villain in the series - Lalo Salamanca

Great ranking! I’ve watched BB 2 times but I haven’t watched it since 2019 (both viewings was in 2019), and I’ve watched BCS 3 times since S5 finale aired in 2020, so the list might not be accurate until I’ve rewatched BB again, but anyway here’s my list and it was still tough to make:
NOTE: The list was made meant to be read from worst (bottom) to best (top)
1. BCS S6 - 10/10 - One reason this season is above BB S4 is because it has Lalo in it. He is my new favorite villain in the entire universe. And let’s not forget Nacho, Lalo, Kim, Howard and Jimmy’s fate that was previously unkown. Also this season feels most like THE ultimate BB/BCS Season and a closing chapter to this amazing universe.
2. BB S4 - 10/10 - The reason this season is above BB S5 is because it has Gus in it. He became my favorite villain on the whole show and it is the only season that can rival the number 1 spot in terms of intense and frightening scenes. I consider this season as a perfect TV season.
3. BCS S5 - 10/10 - This season is full of intense and captivating storylines, and it was the first and only time I had to experience the wait for a new season after that cliffhanger that took 2 years.
4. BB S5 - 10/10 - This season has perfect drama and the season is almost perfect for me. The only thing that’s holding it back is that it’s a little too dark for me.
5. BCS S4 - 9/10 - This is the most atmospheric season in the universe. From the origin of the superlab and how it was built to Jimmy selling cellphones in the middle of the night. Also this season has the best music-choices too.
6. BB S3 - 9/10 - This season is really good. The twins attacking Hank and Walter worrying for himself and Jesse. So many iconic and intense moments.
7. BCS S3 - 9/10 - Nacho’s plan with Hector, the drama between Jimmy and Chuck, and once again the introduction of Gus. What more can I say? This is the most intense season yet.
8. BB S2 - 8/10 - I thought this season was gonna be lower on the list, but then I remembered that this season is the introduction of Saul, Gus and Mike, and that alone moves it really high on the list.
9. BCS S1 - 8/10 - Great first season and it’s nice to see the early origins of Jimmy and Mike.
10. BCS S2 - 8/10 - A great season with quality in all aspects, but it’s not much going on, it’s just more of the same from season 1 which makes it as good, just not as "surprising" as S1.
11. BB S1 - 7.5/10 - Good first season, but a little slow for me. That said it’s been 3 years since I’ve watched it, so it might move higher on the list whenever I rewatch BB.
12. El Camino - 7/10 - It’s still good, but compared to 7hrs (or more) of great TV, it’s just 2 hrs of good TV/Movie.
Better call Saul Season 4 is so damn underrated it’s like the 3rd best season behind season 5 and 6
Plane crash has to be the most unrated story arc. I was so enthralled with the flash forwards abd thought it was brilliant how it came together, while taunting us with the ep titles

Top 5 are top tier seasons, 3-5 are interchangeable and after them there’s a gap. Top 6-10 are all super close, but I would rank them that way, not interchangeably. BB had the highest highs but BCS was more consistent and better made overall IMO. On first watch I preferred BB but on rewatch BB wasn’t as strong, while BCS was much stronger. BB S1 is easily the weakest season of the show, but still great and BCS S1 is easily better than the early BB seasons IMO. BCS was top tier for S3-5, while BB was only top tier for S4-5. Both are top tier overall but as I’ve watched more shows they’ve gone lower in my top 10 shows list. Currently I’d rank them like Top8-10.
Ozymandias Granite State and Felina are truly some of the greatest television I've ever seen in my life. For me it's season 5 of Breaking Bad and then season 6 of Better Call Saul. Both shows were true masterpieces

11 - Better Call Saul S2 (8.5) - You said my exact thoughts. Every episode i was starving for something important to happen and it happened in the penultimate but its too slow.
10. BCS - Season 4 (8.5) (Same issue as S2, that phone storyline is very uninteresting)
9. BCS - Season 1 (8.5) (Good as an intro)
8. BB - Season 2 (8.5) (Read the upper exp)
7. BCS - Season 3 (8.5) (Fav episode chicanery and lantern, these are masterclasses of how to make episodes)
6. BB - Season 3 (8.5) (Very uninteresting at many times, especially at the start)
Its hard to rank the rest, theyre all so good
5. BB - Season 2 (9.0)
4. BB - Season 4 (9.0)
3. BCS - Season 5 (9.0) - This is when the show really gives strong competition to Breaking Bad. All eps are banger after banger, especially the 2nd half
2. BCS - Season 6 (9.0) - Satisfying ending
BCS Season 5 & 6 are very close to each other, it can be other way around
1. BB - Season 5 (9.5) - This is the most perfect season of any show. The first half is kind of overrated in my opinion (doesn't mean its bad) but the 2nd half OMG... I can't explain the feeling and the chills i was getting when walt was kidnapping her daughter (i forgot her name lol) The whole season is filled with moments like this. Masterclass.

Jimmy redeems himself.
I don't think script writing gets any more perfect than the final season of Better call Saul.
BETTER question: which should you watch first?
Watch BCS first to get a new perspective when you watch Saul Goodman(the front her puts up as a comedic lawyer) and you can't not think of Jimmy McGill and his past.

I think the reason I prefer Better Call Saul over Breaking Bad is because it highlights the consequences caused by the characters' actions. Sure, Breaking Bad does focus a lot on the emotional toll the key moments play on the main characters like Jesse's fractured psyche and the degradation of Walt's relationship with his family, but you don't really see the impact of their crimes on the world too much. BCS goes into excruciating detail on how people like Saul, Kim, Chuck, Mike, Gus, the Salamancas, etc ruin everything and everyone they come into contact with which further illustrates that basically no one is the hero in this story, just varying degrees of villains and victims.
If anything, it was kind of Chuck’s fault that he was right about Jimmy. He set him down that path to darkness by constantly trying to sabotage his chances to practice law.

it's all subjective. I loved the second season of Breaking Bad. And tbh like I said in the video, I like most of what we've seen in this universe. I would just put certain seasons ahead of others, but again, that's down to preference. Great to hear your thoughts on why you would disagree.....
@@Daniel-yz3tq dude I mixed up stuff. I'm rewatching Breaking Bad, and even with some really boring episodes I liked season 2. I guess most of my issues with BB are in later seasons. I recall so much boring and useless scenes between Walt and Skyler and other moments where I just want to fast forward throughout my last rewatch.
However I found season 1 far more enjoyable than season 2, it's much more straightforward.

I'll be real with you, I think both BCS and Brba seasons 2 are at the bottom only above El Camino for me. They both have an assortment of good episodes, but I also firmly believe that the series worst episodes are also present in the respective season 2's (in my opinion, "Inflatable" and "Down"). Now that on its own doesn't necessarily mean the seasons as a whole are bad (and honestly there are no "bad" seasons of either show) but I think those worst episodes really drag them low. "Down" in particular I think doesn't get the distaste it deserves, this episode I believe is the primary reason that the fanbase has such a hate boner for Skyler, even more than IFT. I noticed at some point that my liking of Skyler increased a lot when I started just skipping this episode on rewatches

BCS was very very dull at times in Seasons 2-4.
Season 1 was great, then it just meandered until the end of Season 4..
It came through great in Seasons 5 and 6, but those mid seasons were so slow.
BB is the better show by some distance because of those dull mid seasons.
S3 breaking bad is the best season of the entire universe.

I loved BCS but Season 6 was weak for me. He got a sweet 7 year plea deal just to blow it for no reason. There’s contrition and then there’s stupidity. I loved the humor of screwing with Howard (before it got too dark of course). And I loved the development of Jimmy and Kim’s relationship over seasons 2-4 as well as the relationship between Jimmy and Chuck.

I respect your opinion, but season 3 was, debatably, the best season of BCS
Breaking Bad is untouchable. Even with the brilliant decision to bring Tony Dalton on board. BCS is nowhere near as fantastic as Breaking Bad is as a series.
The silent twin hitmen in shiny suits are by far the most cringe thing in both otherwise stellar series.

El Camino was not good at all. I love the universe, but that was garbage in my opinion
It’s an odd one for sure, personally I didn’t think it was garbage but certainly didn’t love it. It didn’t detract from the over all BB narrative but surely didn’t add anything to it either. Considering the differences
In the actors being older in BCS I can get past the difference in looks no problem, but the way Todd looks in el camino I just can’t see past the obvious weight gain 😅 and also Walt’s huge bald head!
Breaking Bad season 2 is weaker than any better call Saul season.
